    its interesting to see how gear has changed/evolved over the years..what really surprised me tho is the comfort level..As a person who is not SF or even military (i work on vehicles for a living), having comfortable work clothes and such REALLY makes a difference on your overall disposition at the end of the day or a mission..ESPECIALLY footwear..

    Seriously, thank you for this video, especially that bit around 8:30 in. I bought a Balistyka war belt last year and have been trying my damnedest to figure out how to set it up in contrast to a typical battle belt, but this video makes me realize that my problem is fundamentally that I didn't (and still probably don't) understand the actual reason for everything I've got on my belts. I've just been putting on there what other people say should be on the belt. Now it's clear I just need to spend some hours this spring trying stupid shit until I find something that works for me with my expected "worst case scenario" get-up, and focus more on incorporating it into the overall gear loadout, not just what's on the belt itself.
    Great video. Thanks!

    I have used those old school BH talonflex pouches since 2000!! Still running them!!! I use black wire ties over the velcro slips that tie them onto the belt.

    The Inner belt of the BFG GRID belt as adjustments. That’s the purpose of the extra loops. The measurements are based around Crye pants. As those of us who know cry pants are thick around the East due to extra fabric. You can run you inner belt as a EDC belt hence the extra adjustments.

    For anyone interested: Those discontinued Blackhawk! triple pistol mag pouches that Dorr said are his favorite are from the Blackhawk! “BTS System” series. I recently found some used ones cheap. They are like the predecessor to the now popular Esstac Kywi pouches, but with a retention flap added. They still work great.

    The only thing I use my "battlebelt" for is when I'm on my homestead and get an unexpected visitor, or maybe hunting.... but I honestly prefer just regular EDC type gear on my pants belt with an OWB holster.

    At what point did you put suspenders on? With loadout you had I would have needed them. Also have you looked at ULTIMATE CARRY BELT at Bladetech? I like Dorr comment at the end about just have on you what you need, and the extra stuff nearby like in your vehicle. Never stop evolving. Great Video!!!

    Don't knock the drop leg mag pouch.
    Ever since I was a kid playing airsoft in the mid 2000s I've always sworn by it. When you have exhausted your chest rig for ammo and grenades you can just drop it.
    Mobility+++
    Comfort+++
    Hit box - - -
    Ever since I started shooting for real I've never been able to get rid of that lovely drop leg. Puts three mags of 40 rds each at exactly the spot where my offhand falls.
    No reaching thru or around a sling.
    It's just perfect...for me at least.
    Also I'm never gonna recommend a drop leg holster. That's the most uncomfortable piece of tactical gear I've ever used.

    Dumb question: What do you guys do with all the stuff in your pockets (phone, wallet, keys, etc) when you go to the range and wear a battle belt? I've noticed that a battle belt pretty much makes your pockets inaccessible.

    The belts were thought of by intelligent human beings and then created by human beings or by machines that human beings created..... these things did not mutate into something else by themselves.... so why you have the need to use the phrase evolved or evolution into there is strange to me and yeah I know that it can be applied to something changing, but it's definitely not the best fitting word..that's for sure...and I cannot hardly stand that word... mainly because of the ridiculous theory that it is attached to.... sometimes I just got to say something lol Example : Changed, improved, developed, designed, manufactured, maybe even "took a giant leap" towards something else but evolved into? Neh. ( of course you can say whatever you want to.. but I just hope you haven't bought into that theory and if you have, I wish you would actually go look for any kind of proof that the blackness in the universe and everything inside of it made itself from Nothing by nothing and then everything landed in the most perfect spot and then after that rain fell on a rock, ran off into the ocean, and then changed into DNA that started changing and morphing all by itself into something else, each stage taking billions of years, until everything on Earth was male-female then another one ( or like ) and left behind not a stitch of evidence.... no bones of anything in the middle of evolving nor anything right now that you can see anywhere on the planet in the middle of evolving (in a stage)....I mean just think. ) I prefer actual proof and evidence throughout history for anything I'm going to believe concerning where the universe and everything in it came from.... and evolution absolutely does not have it.
