Great albums shared ! I now just want to listen this Megadeth album... I loved how much the Mustaine hatred and rancour towards Metallica helped him in a wonderful creation process... Caladan Brood... I have this one in my wishing list of bandcamp... As you say : Summoning-like music but great hommage to this band
Ah, Sacred Outcry. I checked them out after your year end list and it's fucking superb. I agree with you, their newest album will stand tall as an all-time great power metal album years from now. Discogs randomizer: 1. Emperor - IX Equilibrium (CD) Emperor has no bad albums, so a nice start to the monthly randomizing. 2. The Beach Boys - 20 Golden Greats (CD) Kingly collection from the kings of true american surf rock! I grew up listening to this kind of stuff because of my father. 3. Mistur - Attende (Cassette) A sognametal masterpiece in the vein of the great Windir. My God is this album great. Hands down a 10/10 album in my book, and I don't throw 10s around. The last song in particular is insanely good. 4. Exumer - Possessed by Fire (LP) Great and quite underrated (underrated in the sense it's nowhere near as popular as Sodom and Kreator, when it really should be) German thrash. 5. Venom - Resurrection (CD) Haven't listened to this in yeeeeeeears.
Mistur! So damn good. That is one I still need to add to my collection, but I have it digitally and listen to it often. Love it! I can completely understand the 10/10 rating!!
Man, i absolutely loved Megadeth,.and specifically Peace Sells, when i was first getting into thrash back in the 80s. Then i saw Megadeth in 1988 and thought Mustaine was such an asshole that i turned my back on them for about 20 years. After getting a little older, I eventually thought, What's the big deal really? These guys are musicians, not my friends, probably half my favorite bands are assholes! And i rediscovered Megadeth... and when i did my top albums of 1986, Peace Sells came out a lot higher than i expected. There might be a moral to that story, but if so, I can't figure out what it is.
The moral of the story is, if you really want to enjoy music, it's best to separate the art from the artist. As a black metal fan, it's something I have to do ALL the time lol.
Peace Sells and Slaughter of the Soul are stone cold classics. Absolute favourite At the Gates album for sure but Rust is my favourite Megadeth album, love So Far So Good So What too 🤘🤘🤘 Also don't know if you're into them or not but could you rank Carach Angren's discography? Big fan myself and would love to hear your thoughts on their work 🤘
