Cold is a band from my past that I thought would fall off into obscurity. Happily they have not. This new song, "Quiet Now," seems to be adding to the band's legacy. How good of an addition is it? Let's find out!

This song breaks my heart. His voice is powerful and the imagery makes it that much more powerful. Very underrated ln my opinion.

I really agree that Cold as a band are underrated. The song it not my favorite of theirs though.

Lindsey kills the bass in “Without You” also from this album. Ward kills it vocally, unlike anything he’s done before at all and finally does him justice.

They are criminally underrated.. the last couple albums took a couple listens for me to really feel them but I’m on board

I really dig their dark pop rock sound. I always have. They just dropped off my radar for a little while and I don't really know why.

Love how he didn’t hear anything from A Different Kind of Pain

“ not a haunting video” proves he wasn’t listening to the lyrics or the visuals

I think you're saying that Cold needs more distinction on the bass, because that's a direction they've never gone. If that is, in fact what you're saying, you've not listened to much of their music. I strongly suggest you rectify that.

No, I'm saying that they suffer from a common production issue with rock music where the bass gets lost in the mix. I would agree that they have NEVER had a mix that presents the bottom end in a proper way, but that doesn't mean I am unfamiliar with their catalogue... Though to be fair, I DID say in the video that it has been some time since I have listened to new Cold, and the last record I listened to extensively was 13 Ways to Bleed on Stage. I would agree, too, that I need to listen to more Cold. I REALLY like this band, and I should listen to more of their music, because I truly dig it.

@@GenerallyNerdy I'm at a complete loss as to what to say here. 13 Ways to Bleed on Stage had no issues with bass representation (referring to the instrument AND the acoustic range). I wonder if you've never listened to it through a decent set of drivers run by a clean source. I just had a listen to several of the songs on it, to make sure that I was remembering correctly, using a set of Audeze headphones, then again through a set of Arctis Steelseries Pro headphones, then yet again on a set of 16 driver hybrid IEM's and the IEM is the only place where the low end suffered a little (because the tiny little drivers in most IEM's just can't handle bass response like a good set of cans can).
I might give it another listen, on some decent over-ear headphones. Then move on to Year of the Spider and even songs from the new album, which are mixed fairly well and have good representation across the full spectrum.
      Just a thought.

Now that you mention it I have not listened to that record for QUITE some time. so I will revisit it with some proper studio headphones. Also, Year of the Spider was a GREAT album as well!
I will re-listen then get back to you sir.

This song is the most beautiful they have ever written its about a mother who lost her child.

@@a7x3179 It is a beautiful song. The video is about a mom that lost a child yes, but the song itself was written about a friend of Scooter's that lost his dad.
