May's guitar break needs some serious appreciation. It’s pure quality from the off and has a real down & dirty grind to it. A round of applause is the least it deserves.
LOVE LOVE THIS SONG!! Written by Brian May finding himself in a quandary - A love affair on the verge of ending! It was Brian’s idea of treating a song as a three-act theatrical play, and the verses are called “acts” in the lyrics sheets. Brian makes use of the tapping technique a few months before Eddie Van Halen’s use of the that same technique. Brian was inspired by Texas guitarist Rocky Athas, after seeing his performance at the Mother Blues Club. 🎸🎸
Well it's all a matter of taste. Personally I think the entire "Hot Space" Album is one big "oof" and as hard as I try I just can't get into early Queen before the "Sheer Heart Attack" album. Many people like "Queen" and "Queen II", for me it's a lot of aimless stuff that goes nowhere and lacks production. But that is something I often notice with Bands. It takes many bands 2 or 3 Albums until they really find their jive.
Brian may wrote most of queen's songs , including Tie Your Mother Down. ... Flash. ... Keep Yourself Alive. ... We Will Rock You. ... Save Me. ... Good Company. ... Now I'm Here. Headlong ... The prophets song... Too much love will kill you... Who wants to live forever.... 39.... All dead, all dead.... Fat bottomed girls ... Only you ,only the good die young... Hammer to fall .... Las palabras de amor... Let me (in your heart again).... Let your heart rule your head ... Sail away sister .... She makes me .... Some day one day .... Sweet lady .... The show must go on .... and also this little gem that just played , it's late . This is just a few of the amazing songs he wrote.
It's Late & You take my breath away are my 2 favourite songs by Queen. I was lucky enough to have seen them perform both songs live in the 70's. Roger Taylor's drumming and backing vocals were spot on every time .
Great reaction to my favourite Queen song! Each member’s contribution is outstanding, especially Brian’s guitar solo. It’s unlike any of his other solos. I love it!
You two seriously need to check out Queen's "White Man" off their album A Day At The Races. It's one of my all time favorite Queen tunes. I would say it's one of Queen's heaviest songs. Another really great heavy one of theirs is "Tie Your Mother Down" off the same album.
"Get Down Make Love" is a very unique, offbeat song from the same album as this one, that you guys should check out. "Modern Times Rock & Roll", "Dead On Time", "Sheer Heart Attack" and "Stone Cold Crazy" are 4 more fast and hard songs by them you should check out too.
When I was a kid my dad , Tom Fogerty, took me and my brother to see Queen on this album, News Of The World tour in Oakland California. No opening band, just 2 1/2 hours plus of Queen !!! You guys are fun to watch react. Do a Creedence Clearwater Revival song. Fortunate Son, Traveling Band, I Put A Spell On You, Run Thru The Jungle, Born On The Bayou, Good Golly Miss Molly, Suzie Q and I Heard It Thru The Grapevine are great rockers to start. Dad has over 25 hits on 6 CCR albums in just 3 years. years Jeff
It was not a single and didn't really feature on tour but defo one of my favourites. There is another one called, Just You And I, that is overlooked too.
Great choice for a reaction, this is a great song! The song also features the highest note on a Queen studio album, there is an E6 underneath the last guitar solo done by Freddie. This is a song that should be known more, there are a few Queen songs that should be better known.
What a greaat album. Queen "News of the World" A1. "We Will Rock You" A2. "We Are the Champions" A3. "Sheer Heart Attack" A4. "All Dead, All Dead" A5. "Spread Your Wings" A6. "Fight from the Inside" B1. "Get Down, Make Love" B2. "Sleeping on the Sidewalk" B3. "Who Needs You" B4. "It's Late" B5. "My Melancholy Blues"
The other amazing songs on News of the World- Spread Your Wings. Sleeping On the Sidewalk (very different for Queen- very jazzy). Who Needs You. That one has a Caribbean influence. And you really shouldn't go another day without hearing My Melancholy Blues. I would say it's in his top 3 as a vocal performance. It's stunning. Oh, and We Will Rock You & We Are the Champions. Which must always be played as a pair. Like Foreplay/Long Time and Heartbreaker/Livin' Lovin' Maid. That's how they always played them on the radio in the 70s & 80s.
It's so great to see you guys listening to a lesser known Queen track. Two more that you won't have heard of are 'If you can't beat them' and 'Who needs you'. I'd love to see your reactions to those two. There really is so much variety to Queen that most people just don't realise.
Very amazing song! They made more versions of IT!! I love the alternative version of this, where Brians guitar parts and Freddies vocals are more aggressive!!! Pretty amazing just like the album version!!! Love this band so much!!!! I like your reactions too!!!
Have to admit I had almost forgotten this one - which is a shame on me, because it sounds even better now than when I got home with the N.O.T.W LP and first spun the disc. GREAT choice from Rudy, well played sir
One of my all-time favorite Queen songs! Another awesome, often overlooked gem of theirs is Rock It (Prime Jive), and worth checking out. Did I mention it was written by drummer Roger Taylor, who is featured on vocals.
Thank you guys for picking a Queen song no one else has reacted to that I see! Their back catalogue is just ridiculous and looks like you both enjoyed this amazing song! Keep em coming and check out “Father to Son” Orge Battle” “Liar” & “Prophet song” ☺️
Thanks guys, yea all anyone talked about on this album was 'We Will Rock You' when I first heard this album (yes album), I really thought this was the big radio hit. But then again you can never trust the Top 40 crowd, everytime I play this I still crank it, and get chills.
ABSOLUTELY LOVE YOUR REACTIONS...YOU BOTH ARE TOTALLY AWESOME!!!!!!!! COULD YOU PLAY ' BRIGHTON ROCK' BY QUEEN....ANOTHER UNDERRATED SONG..LOVE TO SEE YOUR REACTION TO THIS...TAKE CARE 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍.
@@sadaka201 Yes, I should clarify, there's a difference between my favorite and their best. I think Opera summed them up very well all in one album. What I love about News are the strong contributions from May, Taylor and Deacon, in addition to It's Late. Plus, with We Will Rock You/Champions and Sheer Heart Attack, it's always been a fun listen for me.
A flavour of early Queen, closer to their rock roots. Some fans didn't respond well to the deviation into a more mainstream vibe, but, hey! A lot of people did.
Don't mean to sound pedantic, but this is not early Queen. Early Queen was speed metal and artsy with touches of glam. I call this middle aged, mature, stripped down Queen trying to show the rough and ready punks and New Wavers of the day that they could still rock. Sad that they followed up this really good rock and roll with an album called "Jazz" which was neither jazz nor good rock and roll.
Imagine Brian May that builds his own guitar 🤘 Great song and listen that rolls on the Toms ! Great soundZ ! ❣ The rythm GuyZ well Roger Taylor is One of the Kind 7'15" - 7'20" Mmmolto carina Lady Suzi Sir Travis ;-) 8'35" circa Love you MateZ
Thanks, kids! another great Brian May song... rumor has it that he wrote this when his original marriage was breaking up, and he had fallen in love with famous British actress Anita Dobson - whom he eventually married.. and is still with today -- some 25 or more years now.... so "raw"...
No, this song isn’t about the whole “Brian falling for Anita” thing… this song came out in 1977 on News of the World. Brian didn’t meet and start his affair with Anita until 1986. But Brian was a rockstar, and never terribly faithful to his first wife Chrissie - he had his flings. (Example : the girl he called Peaches in the song “Now I’m Here” is some chick he had a fling with in New Orleans when Queen was opening for Mott the Hoople on the US tour)
@@imweakfordeaky Thanks for the info! I didn't know the timing of his getting together with Anita... Brian was my teenage crush... and I still hold that candle for him :)
How about Freddie's Soul Brother he did for Brian May at a time Brian was going thru alot an was down an depressed 😉🌟or a b side song called Stealin they were dinking an Jammin it's a fun feel good song ! Love watching you two ,are so fun 💯😘🥰💞🤩😎🌹💟😜✌️🐐
Every other song on that album was overshadowed by We Will Rock You/We Are the Champions. its a shame. there are nothing but rockers on this album. Try Sleeping on the Sidewalk with Brian on vocals
May's guitar break needs some serious appreciation. It’s pure quality from the off and has a real down & dirty grind to it. A round of applause is the least it deserves.
The entire "News of the World", album, by Queen, is FIRE!!!
It's _RADIOACTIVE_ . 😉
Damn right! That was the album that got me into the band.
Every Queen album is fire. Simple as that ;-)
Its their best!
@@oliverkaiser794 Almost all of them, four suck
Another totally overlooked track on this album is “Who Needs You?”
There will never be another voice so pure,so made for rock and roll.
The underappreciated gem off of "News of the World." Great choice and reaction.
Not for me. It’s my favourite from that album. Loved it from the first time I played it.
One of my favorite songs........... ever
It takes you ..............
Another underrated song that I love by Queen is "Play the Game". Freddies vocals astounding!
This is my favorite Queen song! I rarely hear anyone react to it.
For some strange reason, this has been my favorite Queen song since I first heard it, about the time it was released.
Me too!
Same here! ❤
Naaaahhh Sir, That's not strange at all
That's just mean youre into good old rocking and rolling
Yessssss!!!
Mi banda favorita Queen
I remember listening to this one in my 1970 Plymouth Fury on 8 track. Good times.

Dude! "You Take my Breath Away" is probably Queen's most complex song!
One of the best finishes to any rock song ever !!
Fabulous reaction, particularly the choice of video where the displayed lyrics actually match what he was singing! Good job.

Its from queen II not from a Day at the races
my favorite queen song by far
Never paid attention but when they kept saying it's late at the end, Freddie was climbing down vocally while the backup voices climbed up. Pretty neat
I love your reaction to this MASTERPIECE
On my top 5 favorite Queen songs.
When they felt like it,they were heavy as hell. Thanks guys
News of the world had several underrated songs. This, spread your wings, my melancholy blues for me.
Meloncholy blues was the song that made me realize as a child "oh, this is what the blues is!"
Spread your wings live killers…..WOW!!!!!!!

The best song on news of the world.
True, but don't forget Spread your wings
All 4 members were on point. The bass, the guitar, the drums and of course the vocals. But then it is Queen
This has been one of my favorites since i heard it when i was probably 12 years old. Total hidden gem.

Nice choice! Queen's deep cuts traverse nearly every music genre.
A song that's got everything you want from Queen. They upped its driving energy by writing it in A major.
