What he said...I use a wire brush with a long cable hooked to it and yank it through the inside a few times after the thing has been heated with a torch.
Very nice video, but a tip: use a propane torch to burn away all the carbon buildup in the holes on the core, takes a lot less time and effort then drilling them all out ;)
Agreed.. but on occasion I’ve had to use the drill but method as well. If left for long periods I’d becomes hard as a rock and no amount of torching will remove it. If maintained properly the buildup will not become like a rock, but we all know how that goes...
Way way back we took full system off and bunged one end up. Stood it on end and filled it with baking soda and water. Let it stand overnight and when emptied it was spotless. Brand new shining. New cleaning products like jizer stopped people doing things like that. Try it. I've never used anything better. A cup of baking soda for a full exhaust system from header to end can used to work great. Baking soda is very cheap..
wow this video got thousands of views over the past couple of days. youtube be wild. idk where the traffic is coming from, but keep it coming. and subscribe for more lol
yeh.....I dont drill out the holes, I soak mine in diesel for awhile and then hit it with a wire brush for about 30 seconds before repacking. Someone else said they hit it with a propane torch, gonna try that next time, sounds faster and cleaner than my diesel.
next time use brake cleaner and a steel wire brush to clean the inside baffle instead of drilling each hole. i also use a propane plumbers torch to burn off all the excess oil/spooge
no, you don't need the orange high temp stuff. silencers on 2 stokes don't get over a 100 degrees or so. It is important you use silicone that is oil resistant though, which the black RTV silicone that I used is, and its also good to 500 degrees
DasRusse on a dirty bike yes. The water will ruin the packing therefore lose power and become really loud. Could also get into the motor and cause rust. I always use a plug.
Wrapped with a fiberglass blanket-----which doesn't seem to add much 'quietness' to the exhaust and the blanket retains unburned oil until it is soaked----I do mine differently which leaves it quieter and lighter ----but I don't know how to do video's so you all will probably never know how this old pro does it.
Was hoping to see how you wrapped with packing. Tight? Loose? I use a propane torch to burn that caked oil off perforated tube. Dont get too hot and be a bit patient. Took about 15 min.
Linus H Forsberg i have oil coming from my exhaust. I just bought the bike. I was told that it has to be repacked. I said it seems to me like it would be running too rich if a fair amount of oil is dripping from the exhaust. Can you guys please give me some info. Thanks.
What? I'm not the only person who cleans their bike before they work on it wow! Nice!
it's a lot easier to just hit it with a propane torch and scrub it with a wire brush.
What he said...I use a wire brush with a long cable hooked to it and yank it through the inside a few times after the thing has been heated with a torch.
or a pressure washer...
Joseph Ciske Oven cleaner and water is all you need.
0:53 the cartoon running sound effect 😂😂
Why is this so satisfying
Very nice video, but a tip: use a propane torch to burn away all the carbon buildup in the holes on the core, takes a lot less time and effort then drilling them all out ;)
+1
Aaa burn. Then inhale it aaa no wrong. Dont burn. Weaker the products. And smells.
Kuruma Designs , or a wire brush

Amazing video, well edited, great camera angles, keep up the good vids 👍
The asmr we didn't know we needed
Insert M80 into perforated silencer tube. Light fuse, take cover, that should clear those holes.
A really well put together video.. nicely done.
Amo ese sonido del 2t❤
That CANNOT be the easiest way to clean the perforations out, a stiff brush and some gunk maybe?
Jonathan Tatler I don't even own a bike but I'd say try a pressure washer
whats the drill for cletaning the holes?

stupidmoto I wasnt really even intrested about this but the video was so satisfying :D
Very Nice Video !!!
You might wanna wash the dirt off with water first scrubbing it can scratch the plastic, paint and metal

Any advice for cleaning with a solevent?
next time use brake cleaner and a steel wire brush to clean the inside baffle instead of drilling each hole. i also use a propane plumbers torch to burn off all the excess oil/spooge
Amazing
are you using high tempetature silicone for that seal?
no, you don't need the orange high temp stuff. silencers on 2 stokes don't get over a 100 degrees or so. It is important you use silicone that is oil resistant though, which the black RTV silicone that I used is, and its also good to 500 degrees
Wait... Its not really a big deal if i get water into the exhaust, right?
DasRusse on a dirty bike yes. The water will ruin the packing therefore lose power and become really loud. Could also get into the motor and cause rust. I always use a plug.
Who wants a silent two stroke
Is bad wool the reason the oil was leaking from exhaush?
BerteKa yea

Lynn Thomas How about you tell us what the secret is then : )
I second that. Out with the secret lol
Bro ever heard of contact cleaner 😂😂😂
You could probably burn the carbon away from the inside tube with the little holes?
burn carbon? not possible lol
Hvguy ? ehm no, You can do it.
thats how you clean the inside of exhaust pipes...
SamD thats called oil not carbon
Nice video
how often does this needs to be ?
Leo Casi 10-20 hours
*Nice vid, I subcribe you now 😉😃*
Cio😎
Rm is awesome
nice video
I would use high heat silicone.
You don't need it. 2 stroke silencers don't get hot and the black rtv silicone I used is good to 500 degrees, but more importantly its oil resistant
Should have washed the rest of the bike while you had it opened up.
Hey man, what's the black stuff you used to seal the silencer back up?
Its Permatex Ultra Black RTV silicone
Why don’t you post anymore

Was u cleaning the holes out?
jesse allen yes
Josh Guitar81 why not take a wire brush and brush it

Put less packing in for cooler sound and more power
Not true
This video is funny😂😂😂😂
At this rate you might as well buy new pipe every season
Nice vid, tantk you for dise !!
0:49 it sounds like darude sandstorm :D
ahahehe lmao so dumb
i often does this have to be done?
Or you could be like me the guy who rips the packing out when it's fucked and never replaces it
Was hoping to see how you wrapped with packing. Tight? Loose? I use a propane torch to burn that caked oil off perforated tube. Dont get too hot and be a bit patient. Took about 15 min.
Missing a jubilee clip..
You guys need to get a dirt bike to understand
Blow torch the silencer, will get all the carbon out so much easily
Clean bike bro

on my bike is fmf powercore 2
Could of took a pressure washer to it
Motovlogs coming?
Sempre bello cambiare la lana di roccia😂👍🏻
Hahaha I love this video
4 stroke it is then
nice video but ur premix is way too rich ur running oil out of the tail pipe and ur loosing hp
its amsoil dominator mixed at 50:1, so the premix is fine. Jetting is probably slightly too rich
It is never (pretty much) the premix, it is the jetting. Good quality oil at 32:1- 50:1 is the way to go.
Linus H Forsberg i have oil coming from my exhaust. I just bought the bike. I was told that it has to be repacked. I said it seems to me like it would be running too rich if a fair amount of oil is dripping from the exhaust. Can you guys please give me some info. Thanks.
Who heard sksksks when he was sparing
Hello
howtobasic
U could just get a air compressor instead of the drill

Too bad TH-cam doesn't have a content quality policy.
