I gotta say, this is one earnest gameplay I've seen. No one has ever played a game in its entire walkthrough this long. And Donkey Kong 64 is a old-school classic, even though I've never heard of or played it through childhood. You've truly captured the epitome of taking time on how swell and victorious somebody will play a game from their perspective. I mean you went to unusual levels in parts of the game I didn't know there were that no one has went to, collected many items that were leftover people may have forgotten, and lastly, not once did you even die and had to restart in any level of the game - you beat every boss, including the final boss, and made a clean, 100%, outstanding victory completing the entire game to its fullest. I'm definitely saving this video for when I buy me a N64 console and this game to come along with it. Once again, modest playthrough the likes of which no one has ever witnessed. This is one incredibly detailed play through! Nice work! I remember playing this what was likely 15 years ago and now remember how awesome this game was.
This game is ridiculously overhated. Sure it does have noticeable flaws like having to constantly backtrack to a tag barrel, some broken golden banana challenges, and the Nintendo and Rareware coins being unnecessarily difficult compared to the final boss, but it's by no means responsible for killing 3D platformers.
That was such a trip down memory lane! Thanks so much for uploading this, I could never 100% this game growing up and seeing you go through everything seamlessly was an amazing experience. Also that 101% extra ending at the end baffles me, I never knew that existed haha I had a good laugh. Really enjoy your style of gameplay, easy for others to follow along and to get the general gist and experience of all ^^
I didn't notice it as a kid, but looking back it's pretty incredible how much shared DNA there is here with Banjo Kazooie. Especially in the music and sound design.
People often criticize this game for having too many collectables and constantly going back to the tag barrel, but my strategy is to, first, constantly swap kongs at the beginning of a level just to open all the basic doorways, preferably without collecting anything, and then pick a Kong and collect every last colored tiny pebble exclusive to that Kong, then rinse and repeat for the rest of the Kongs. In some cases, you'd need to do it in a specific order to make things less tedious, but it still makes the game a million times more enjoyable
It would've been better if there were six characters instead of five so that they could be split into three teams to two, speeding up the processing of collecting their respective bananas much quicker.
I did it. I watched through this whole 10 hour video. Very good playthrough, though, i don't think i can play trough the entite game without taking damage once. Mad respect
As a person who is curious about the full content of this game but absolutely does *not* want to play it again, this video is perfect for me. As the announcer voice says, Well Done!!
What an amazing game this was. I'm kinda scared that if we got a remake it wouldn't be as good as we want it to be or Nintendo would mess it up somehow.
Donkey Kong 64 (1999) is one of the most greatest video games of all time due to it's fun, colorful, bright, vibrant, unique, carefree, and inventive gameplay, levels, and graphics. It was decent. To this day I still play it and I consider it a classic. It never gets old.😍😎💯👍
It was developed by Rare, who developed Banjo & Kazooie! I agree that they have the same vibes, Rare had a magic about the atmosphere they had for their games that was impeccably charming.
When I was little I was terrified of Pufftoss because his battle was so dark and also there were so many loud noises during it XD But really, watching this gameplay is such a bliss! I'm loving it!
I keep meaning to play this because it’s so much like Banjo, which I love! Every time I see it I remember I need to play it, but it just hasn’t happened. The music in these games are the absolute best. So much nostalgia flooding my brain.
Sheesh, I'm astonished at how pretty this game looks for a 1999 N64 title. Rareware really mastered graphics back then. If it wasn't for the excessive amount of collecting you had to do, I'd really like to come back to this game. Rareware tended to do more justice to DK than Nintendo did, for the most part.
I’m so glad you put this up. I always wondered how it end and how to complete the missions. I was a kid playing this so I ain’t really know what I was doing lol
I loved the Toy factory and Fungi forest the best! And Tinys and Lankys were def the hardest boss battles! This definitely brings back good memories, thanks for sharing!
This game was so difficult for me as a kid. I was 10 in 1999. My mom had taken goldeneye away from me bc she thought too much simulated shooting would make me the next columbine shooter. So she replaced it with this game, WITH the strategy guide(possible mom guilt) and even with the guide I cud never get all 201. Lol😂
this game was the second one i got for my n64 and man oh man, am i happy that i picked that game for my birthday. So many memories attached to that masterpiece of a game and watching it you replaying it brings back such good memories of my childhood. Thanks for sharing that awesome gameplay of yours!
Those where the days..the Nintendo 64 experience as a child was trully magical and so much fun..this, Zelda the ocarina of time,Mario 64 and Yoshis story where my favourite.
I once had a used Nintendo 64 when I was a kid and there were a lot of games that came with it. This game wasn’t one of them, but my Dad’s friend John had it with his Nintendo 64, but I heard he doesn’t have it anymore. As for the used Nintendo 64 I had, my two adopted brothers and I were playing a lot on it, but mostly Pokémon Stadium. That was one of the games that came with the console. Now it got old and we got rid of it.
That'd be Krosshair, and he only makes two appearances - once in Angry Aztec after exploring the tombs successfully, and the other in Crystal Caves when you fail the challenges in the Cabin.
I found my original console from the 90’s in a box, got an HDMI adapter and this is the first thing I went looking for. It’s funny how much I both do and don’t remember.
One time my brother and I told my dad we needed a new controller because one of ours had a worn out joystick. He went out and bought us a brand new 64… the things you do for your kids man…
The most embarrassing L taken by a boss has to be the Armadillo. This guy got upgrades and still lost to the same Kong. At least the Dragon Fly can say the 2nd fight was against someone bigger and stronger than his last opponent.
This is amazing thank you!!!! I just broke out the old 64 and have been playing this again. I never came close to finishing it as a kid and need a little assistance now 🤣 blessss you!!
Thank you so much for making this, I clocked a ton of hours on this game and just seeing it again puts a huge smile on my face. If only they could make it for the Switch…
@@Gameboy-Unboxings ?? Why is it your business and concern about me watching a 10 hour walkthrough im allowed to watch it I did take breaks over the time watching it here and there so it wasn't just the whole 10 hours idiot! why would u bother take a second of your boring life to write such a stupid comment... 🙃 even yet why you not saying it to the others who have also watched this video the whole way?!?! Like seriously get a life!
I recalled playing this game when it came out, mostly just for the expansion pak. I wanted to commend you on the work put into this, down to the ad breaks. Overall a very well done vid.
I remember collecting all the bananas in the game. Brining the completion total to 100%. There are two extra bananas to collect so it brings total to 102%. I spent many hours collecting fairies and other objects to finish the game. The mini games were fun to play. The Kong smash was lots of fun too.

The sheer amount of collectibles is crazy. Soundtrack is still awesome for each stage
I don’t see anywhere where anyone is blaming “death” of 3d platformers on this game, besides, this was before Jak and Daxter, Ratchet and Clank, etc…
Yeah they were created at the exact same time by the same dev team split in 2. Gooated games for sure
whoa! you're totally right
People often criticize this game for having too many collectables and constantly going back to the tag barrel, but my strategy is to, first, constantly swap kongs at the beginning of a level just to open all the basic doorways, preferably without collecting anything, and then pick a Kong and collect every last colored tiny pebble exclusive to that Kong, then rinse and repeat for the rest of the Kongs. In some cases, you'd need to do it in a specific order to make things less tedious, but it still makes the game a million times more enjoyable
It would've been better if there were six characters instead of five so that they could be split into three teams to two, speeding up the processing of collecting their respective bananas much quicker.
Why do people hate this game it’s so good!
Says from someone who hasn’t played it yet.
This game was insane for 1999. Playstation was not capable of running something like this.
The person playing is a beast!💪🏾 Thanks for this video😘
Thks a bunch for doing this. I played the heck outta this game when I was a kid and seeing you play it is bringing back so many awesome memories!
This hits so hard right in the nostalgia
Naw fr
Looking back at Donkey Kong 64 it’s like the expanded version of Banjo Kazooie
Yeah it was like they beta..
yeah i never realized that lol
This game is incomparable to any game today... Especially the intro
I did it. I watched through this whole 10 hour video. Very good playthrough, though, i don't think i can play trough the entite game without taking damage once. Mad respect
A good game, one of the best on the N64 imo. The 4 player versus mode is funny too, we played it for countless hours... Nice times!
I really hope they put this game on the switch I wood be so happy again like a kid omg
Donkey Kong 64 (1999) is one of the most greatest video games of all time due to it's fun, colorful, bright, vibrant, unique, carefree, and inventive gameplay, levels, and graphics. It was decent. To this day I still play it and I consider it a classic. It never gets old.😍😎💯👍
ModernXP, the way you played this game is unbelievably amazing. Thank you so much for playing this legendary game. Nintendo is the future.
I love how Candy Kong has that giggling sound.
Fact- it's the same giggle from "Gary Takes A Bath" except it's high pitched.
This game gets too much hate. Sure, it's rough around the edges, but it's still a fun experience
This game is giving me major Banjo Kazooie vibes lol
It was developed by Rare, who developed Banjo & Kazooie! I agree that they have the same vibes, Rare had a magic about the atmosphere they had for their games that was impeccably charming.
DK64 is a classic and there isn't another one like it..
When I was little I was terrified of Pufftoss because his battle was so dark and also there were so many loud noises during it XD
But really, watching this gameplay is such a bliss! I'm loving it!
That star fish looks weird
Apparently when I was little at 10:07:21 I felt like crying at the sounds of those beavers there voices were so squeaky I wanted to cry
I think I said it before the creepy castle level is my absolute favorite... The way they rendered the moon and everything looks so realistic
This brings me up the memories waking up in Christmas and getting the N64 with that game.
Me tooo!!!! I was maybe 10 I am almost 34 now. Sheeeeesh
Creepy castle is my favourite level in this game. Plus this game is my all time favourite
Thank you for playing this. It's hard to go back to N64 when I don't have the adapter I need.
I keep meaning to play this because it’s so much like Banjo, which I love! Every time I see it I remember I need to play it, but it just hasn’t happened. The music in these games are the absolute best. So much nostalgia flooding my brain.
They were both made by rare
Game is tedious
Sheesh, I'm astonished at how pretty this game looks for a 1999 N64 title. Rareware really mastered graphics back then. If it wasn't for the excessive amount of collecting you had to do, I'd really like to come back to this game.
Rareware tended to do more justice to DK than Nintendo did, for the most part.
This game is engraved in my brain, though I've never actually beat it I still want to buy and try to beat it this time around... I loved this game!!
*OOOHHHH, BANANA!* 🍌

Crazy how good n64 games can look in HD. Playing them on an hdtv with original hardware looks so blurry
Easily one od the best games ever made.
I’m so glad you put this up. I always wondered how it end and how to complete the missions. I was a kid playing this so I ain’t really know what I was doing lol
Yeah I don’t think I’ve ever beat the whole thing as a kid, so I’m curious as to how it ends lol
I appreciate the fact they let the whole song play…
Ah yes - my favorite enemies have to be the KaSPLAT and the Kosha. The sounds they make are just so hilarious!
This really is one of the best games of my childhood
This is my childhood game brings back memories of the good old days
Yessss! I love this game soo much guys we really had a time back then! I wish they would renake this
Those where the days..the Nintendo 64 experience as a child was trully magical and so much fun..this, Zelda the ocarina of time,Mario 64 and Yoshis story where my favourite.
Achievement Unlocked -Forgotten childhood nostalgia
I was obsessed with this game when it came out. I was twenty, and I couldn't get enough of it.
Who else wants to see Donkey Kong get another 3d game like this?! If Mario can have a bunch, why not DK?
1:45:49 - That creepy voice saids "Get Out!" (Target) creeped/scares me out as a kid, and the music background too
That'd be Krosshair, and he only makes two appearances - once in Angry Aztec after exploring the tombs successfully, and the other in Crystal Caves when you fail the challenges in the Cabin.
Remake this game for the switch please
YASSSS
I'm on board😊
I truly don't understand why people hate on this game. The gameplay was SO good. We NEED a remake!!
7:13:43
Damn bro…straight up started blasting him like HE took your bananas lol
0:15 The RAP Is Funny! 😂🤣😂🤣
My childhood! Got the special edition N64. Love that emerald green console and yellow game cartridge.
That's what I'm playing on right now I love my Jungle green edition.
I found my original console from the 90’s in a box, got an HDMI adapter and this is the first thing I went looking for. It’s funny how much I both do and don’t remember.
One time my brother and I told my dad we needed a new controller because one of ours had a worn out joystick. He went out and bought us a brand new 64… the things you do for your kids man…
10 hours… very impressive. Most people take around 2 universe life-cycles to 101% this game.
My childhood, use to dream of getting all golden bananas, only ever did it years later. Got teary eyed a lot watching this, childhood memory overload.
This game taught me about tolerance to frustration. I loved it and I miss playing it at home.
Seth Rogen’s first (and so far only) 3D platformer
This is a big part of my childhood brah freakin takes me back 🔥
Pretty sure I never got close to beating this game as a kid but it still had a big impact on me
10h 8Min is A Possible
I never had anxiety before but the music in the mini games gave it to me. Especially when the music got faster.
One of my favorite games of all time!!! this needs a remaster!
The most embarrassing L taken by a boss has to be the Armadillo. This guy got upgrades and still lost to the same Kong. At least the Dragon Fly can say the 2nd fight was against someone bigger and stronger than his last opponent.
He didn't just lose, he imploded in magic sparkles!
My childhood! Ah thanks a lot mate for this video, this brought me a lot of good memories! Right after school, going home playing this game!
This is amazing thank you!!!! I just broke out the old 64 and have been playing this again. I never came close to finishing it as a kid and need a little assistance now 🤣 blessss you!!
Started playing this game after many years. Thank you for putting it out ,it was such a big help 👍
Stars off with a Rap complete with spoken words, but then when you're finally into the game play you have to read words on a screen. LMAO!!!!
The intro alone is more memory than most NES , SNES and GB-GBA games 😂
Thank you so much for making this, I clocked a ton of hours on this game and just seeing it again puts a huge smile on my face. If only they could make it for the Switch…
🎮😭 WOW is just the word I used for watching all 10 hours of such a amazing childhood memory game, thanks for uploading and playing the whole game!
Why would you want to sit and watch through the whole gameplay instead of actually playing the game? I don't understand that..
@@Gameboy-Unboxings it’s a new gen thing. Same goes for Let’s Plays. It’s easier to watch someone else play something than play it yourself
I never realized how long this game took to beat completion wise hahahah
I used to love donkey Kong country for Super Nintendo but I forgot why I had this game but never played it......thanks for the reminder...
ModernXP is A Professional gamer ,..underrated for sure
4J Studios needs to remaster this on Nintendo Switch
I recalled playing this game when it came out, mostly just for the expansion pak. I wanted to commend you on the work put into this, down to the ad breaks. Overall a very well done vid.
DK64 is even more glorious in a format higher than full HD! Will you also do Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie?
I did Kazooie after DK64 and plan to do Tooie eventually.
I remember collecting all the bananas in the game. Brining the completion total to 100%. There are two extra bananas to collect so it brings total to 102%. I spent many hours collecting fairies and other objects to finish the game.
The mini games were fun to play. The Kong smash was lots of fun too.
You're a God. All gamers should bow and tremble beneath the incredible might of your awesome gaming prowess..
Thanks man
años sin ver DK 64 :O , y buena calidad , te felicito , te ganaste un seguidor nuevo
This game was fun but became tedious to complete after a while
This game was great … the single player , the multiplayer - all so great !
Lo estoy viendo en mi tiempo libre, me trae nostalgia y ver que unas cosas si estaban fáciles.
Totally agree 💗
41:11 I absolutely love this part!
