Any child prodigy can play a technically sound musical piece. But this kid, George displays very keen sentiment and and rich emotions as well! I'm no expert, but if I were just listening to this Concerto and not watching, I'd swear this was an accomplished adult playing it.

What. You performed a Liszt concerto at age 12. That's actually unbelievable, at such a young age your technique and musical abilities were already outstanding when compared to many, many adult pianists. I can't wait to see what you can do in the later years of your career.
An absolutely mind-boggling performance... Young man, by the time you reach 21 you will, no doubt, be one of if not the world's finest pianist. You're 99% of the way right now. Talent like your comes along at extremely infrequent intervals, IMO.
I have no doubt George is the best Piano player on our world. It’s like he’s got a hearing sixth sense, & just seems to know exactly we’re too place his fingers to make the noise happen, like he hears our environment more than others might & applies it to the piano

Even at that age this kid’s technique and musicality were at least comparable (or better) than Horowitz’. In addition to that, his current world touring videos show his adult light and pleasant personality, humbleness and incomparable British humor. I have no doubts that George and Alma will become musical icons of this century.
What do music teachers do with a student who finally exceeds their own abilities or talent? 'I can't teach you anything more' - who else do I pass you on to?
Ole Nielson I had a student like that a few years ago. He had many dreadful habits and an undeveloped technique and his playing was messy.. but it was too late.. he wouldn't really listen to me. I could do nothing. The mould was already set. George on the other hand HAS listened to his teachers and applied himself brilliantly!!

I bet I've listened to this concerto 1000 times, and this KID is showing me things I never knew were there! Plus, IMHO it's the badge of courage to drop a note in that impossible C Major cadenza at the beginning. So many play it "safe," but George played it "exciting."
