Had an idea for a comic/manga in my head for YEARS and finally got to a point where I’m writing the story etc before getting it illustrated, and honestly these videos help so much because the moment you start thinking you know what you’re doing you hit a brick wall, your channel helps open up them doors with good explantations! Keep going man !
True. But, he might also be an unscrupulous villain. He does seem to enjoy toying with his victims by just killing them whenever and leaving them scared and helpless. His laugh and insane mental tendencies proves this constantly. Initially, it seems like he wants to do a world of good by ridding the Earth of criminals, but at the end he was just a mass murdered which is where I agree.
@@MonitorComics No problem. And again thanks. Now im finding hard time creating the MC backstory so the readers can understand why he became anti hero & his way Of dealing with such things.
Guts from Berserk, Yami Yugi from Yugi-oh, Yami the Golden Darkness from To-Love Ru, Sasuke Uchiha from Naruto, Vegeta from Dragon Ball, Killua Hunter X Hunter, Akame from Akame Ga Kill, Satsuki Kiryūin from Kill La Kill, and Shadow the Hedgehog. I got a lot of favorite anti-heroes now that really think about it. I may need to write my top 10 list for anti-heroes.
Honestly, I’m trying to make a small series for me and my friends to enjoy/read through. I looked at your channel for a while now and hopefully can adapt some of your video content due to your explanations. Here’s to more videos^^.
I know this is kind of forward but I’m nearly done with my first “chapter” of it. I’m sure you’re busy and have better things to do making videos but I’d love to hear a critique on it. I’m only just starting of course but it’s something I really enjoy thinking about when I myself have some free time. Though please, do continue to make high quality videos in the mean time!
I have an idea for two anti-hero protagonists but I'm unsure what type they would be. I want them to have a very ruthless/brutal mentality towards the villains, like they would kill them mercilessly one by one as if they are hunting them down, but their motivation is ultimately for the safety and betterment of the weak. Would they be Unscrupulous heroes? even though I want the villains to be far worse, what would you say could be a good boundary for the anti-heroes? Great content btw!
Thank you for taking the time to watch! Those titles are just a reference point, you don't need to follow them 100%. The type of anti hero described would work!
The protagonist to my story-in-progress could be considered an anti-hero. He is defined by his willingness to take lives and his insane brutality. Under this guise is a good person who believes that by doing the right thing, you never really make a difference, and while he has no interest on making said difference for the first half of the story, a pivotal moment shifts his views and, while he has the same beliefs, he now puts them into action. He is known by the epithet of "King of The Devils" as his team is known as the devil squad and he commands it. As well as the fact that he breathes fire. I used his fire breathing ability to stress the similarities between himself and a demon.
I try to give as much info as possible without taking up too much time! No need to fully get it on the first watch! You can always go back to certain parts when it comes up in your writing process!
@@MonitorComics Can you critique my story? If you can then I'll put it here Kazuya and Kazu, twins whose always at odds with each other. One’s a villain while the other’s a hero.. but their feud came to a stop due to an upcoming dangerous threat.. to stop the threat from endangering their home and the entire world, they have to put aside their differences to embark on a journey to save the world.
I mean if written correctly, it works. Think of Light Yagami from Death Note, I personally believe that he has one of the best writing in anti-heroic protagonist history. He has multiple girls falling in love with him, with this harem, Light uses the women as manipulated tools or decoys for his plan to defeat L and his successors.
I understand what an anti-hero is, but watching videos like these that don't normally show any signs of a slice of life makes me wonder if I was wrong. 'cause there really isn't no "Hero" or "Villain" just nearly regular people with some fantasy and mystery elements. Heck, the closest thing to death, besides things like miscarriages or parents dying, is when my supposed Antihero lets his intrusive thoughts win and pushes a character off a cliff (it's more like a steep hill than a cliff). But in the end, he snaps out of it and saves him, so the character is just hospitalized. yeah I should've put more context, but I really want to see a video covering contemporary (if that's the name) anti-heroes more suited to a slice of life
That is because the Three Chapter rule adds a lot of pressure to writers. Many people only give a book, tv show, etc 3 episodes or chapters before they decide whether to continue or not. For that reason, there is a lot of pressure to make sure those 3 are good I have a video on the 3 chapter rule and how to structure your chapters to beat it. In short, your first chapter should be your longest and function sort of like a one-shot. Think back to Naruto's first chapter. It should set up the world and protagonist and give your reader a good glimpse into what your series will have. Chapter 2 should be shorter and start introducing more characters and establishing the overall plot of the story. Chapter 3 should be the inciting incident or the start of the first story arc. You usually want this chapter to have a cool climax or cliffhanger to encourage your reader to read more. Hopefully that helps!
Hm Gon from hunter x hunter is pretty much an antihero. Just think about it. He doesn't have a moral compass , the only thing what is important for him is his own wealth. And he is ready to use his friends to achieve his Goals. Maybe he is the first shonen protagonist with such characteristics

Once again thank you monitor comics
so let's say I have a protagonist who's the hero and the antagonist who's the anti-hero does it make sense ?
@@franckng4078 Yes! That makes sense!
I love anti-heroes more than traditional heroes. They are not only relatable and complex, but their stories are far more flexible and unpredictable.
Very true!
Brooo, you never miss with your infinite wisdom 🔥

Thanks, Monitor! You've given me a lot to think about in terms of anti-heroes and anti-villains.
That's awesome to hear!

Thanks for this advice and writing tips
Of course! Thanks for taking the time to watch!
The best antihero I’ve read about in literature recently would be the entire Crow Club from Leigh Bardugo’s “Six of Crows” duology

How about a video about writing a monster tamer story?
Y'know like Pokémon, Digimon, Mon Cole Knights, Slugterra, Monsuno, etc.
I can add it to my list of upcoming video topics! Thanks for the suggestion!
Peter Parker in his early run could possibly be a classical anti hero
In the classical meaning Odysseus is an Anti-hero as is Shinji from Evangelion
Han Solo was a smuggler, not a bounty hunter. Otherwise, another awesome video!
Oh crap I mixed that up, it's been a while. Oof. I'm glad you enjoyed the video though!

Maybe! Gon is a good pick! Thanks for taking the time to share!
For most of DragonBall I'd consider goku to be an anti hero. As he really just saves people so he can fight lol
What about Ryu hayabusa?
Freeza is a villain bro
Specifically said Dragonball SUPER. Frieza is forced to join Universe 7's team in the Tournament of Power
Would Wario be an antihero?
Yes! Sometimes he and Waluigi are enemies in the game though, so they also play the role of villains or antagonists depending on the specific game
Can the hero become a anti hero?
Yes

Darker Than Black!

Frieza = Anti Hero? ODD.
Frieza isn't an anti-hero. He's a flat negative character; an unsympathetic villain
great video, but gotta say, batman has killed, sorry! he tries not to though
Thank you! And yes, that is correct in some iterations of the series. Some versions of Batman heavily abide by that no killing rule though
No. Light Yagami was evil.
