That honestly makes sense. While it is properly explained why his blade is larger than others, I wouldn't put it past the author with how much detail they put into the character designs.
I tought it look like kitchen knife without handle to show the lack of control of his powers at the moment, as it keeps getting more refined at each iteration of the blade and in tybw it gets smaller and with a handle. Or even his bankai also shows a more refined form as a simbol of growth
The Nier series is home to some beautiful BFS, like the virtuous treaty, beastlord, and the type-40 blade, but their main characters don't wield them exclusively. In the mobile game there were exclusive BFS wielders, Akeha, 063y, and Yudil. All of their stories, specially Akeha, are really moving.
As a pretty major fan of Bleach and trying to keep spoilers to a minimum I disagree that Ichigo's BFS is just type one but arguably all 3 (while 2 is mostly opinion based the sword and all its forms has always been cool to me.) Zangetsu being type 1 is fairly obvious as the reason stated is it represents his spiritual power/pressure. Where it becomes type 3 however is mostly related in his backstory which you learn about in later arcs. Aside from the disagreement on this I loved the vid as I have always liked the BFS trope starting with Ichigo, Inuyasha and Zabuza's Executioner Blade, then discovering FF7 and finally with Berserk.
@@tekniekgamer6599 thanks for your thoughts! Looking back, you're right. I think I mistook not marking him down for 3 because I was still under the concept of the sword itself symbolizing responsibility or burden, but honestly Zangetsu's size has always been chalked up to his power, and symbolically his potential to grow. Good points, thanks for your comment! 🩶
To go off of the vid’s ideas. Dante’s father; Sparta, was the king of the underworld, and was the strongest demon out there When Dante gets his new sword, it combines his sword “rebellion” with the devil sword Sparta, making devil sword Dante. This shows how Dante has grown, both accepting his human AND demon side of his lineage.
I’m actually reading a light novel with a character that uses such a sword. The Strange Adventure of a Broke Mercenary. I’ve only just finished the first book, but it’s mostly a plot device. A way to show to those around him the rather impressive strength he wields.
It's so interesting that this weapon type is characterized in stories so frequently! Maybe its size puts it on par with its wielder? Thanks for the addition 🤍
Totally! It’s not confirmed, but heavily implied, that he isn’t just any ordinary mercenary as well. He’s one with a moniker, unknown to himself of course, called Cleaving Gale. In the story mercenaries with titles aren’t just identifying names for the individuals, but only given to strongest and people known to change the tide of wars if you have them on your side. So the main character having a massive sword, one where his companion can almost hide behind, makes sense he’s so strong.
Oh oh I've read all the volumes that are out of that series, there's a fun twist involving the second sword Loren weilds from book 2 onwards that I won't spoil. If his first sword is a Berserk reference his second is a Dark Souls reference (Moonlight Greatsword-).
Yeah I saw that, I haven’t fully seen the twist, but after some skimming. I see that there’s more then meets the eye with the sword. Yes, I like to read a head sometimes. Haha!
An additional piece of information is that the big sword = bodyguard has historical roots, Montante/Zweihander (The irl BFS) were used as a bodyguard's weapon, because their size serves the purpose of area control rather than "attack power", by swinging it around you deny your opponent the act of getting closer, allowing you to protect someone by keeping them out of harm's way.
a sword that i feel could pretty easily count for all three categories is the hand of malenia from elden ring. cat 1: it exists as a symbol of power because malenia has never been defeated. ever. (well, at least until you show up) cat 2: its a 9 foot long golden katana built into a prosthetic arm, how can it *not* be cool cat 3: the sword being part of a prosthetic arm is there for a reason. malenia is rotting from the inside out, and has to have the prosthetics to do anything. the gold in them is meant to help her resist the rot. even then, she is considered to be the absolute final boss of her world.
Final Boss except for mad lad Radahn, which at his prime not only fought her to a stalemate, but did so having to hold the stars in place. Mind you, he holds TWO BFS.
Honorable mention: Guilty Gear protagonist Sol Badguy's "Fireseal" (Blazer) or Junkyard Dog in the later parts of the series It's a weapon made from the remains of a much more powerful weapon called the "Outrage." Said weapon was so strong that it had to be broken into multiple fragments which Sol poses a modified version of the Fireseal combined with the Flashing fang thus creating the Junkyard dog. There's also another character in the Guilty Gear series named Nagoriyuki who welds a Daisho (a large oodachi plus a wakizashi) and is one of the few weapons capable of dealing fatal damage to Sol Badguy who possess impressive regeneration and durability from being a gear (its complicated but the Guilty Gear story is also complicated so eh)
It is a inherent need that we all acquire a Blade Of Humongousa Proportions, A Shaft Of Gigantic Necessitation, A Oblong Geometry With Monumental Length
Nice to see Grutte Pier on here! In terms of real-life giant swords, you may be interested in Skallagrim's video on giant swords. Apparently they weren't necessarily turboheavy, but there's definitely physics and leverage to account for when wielding it. And context on where and against whom it would be used. Skall's a big enthousiast for historical weaponry and martial arts, mainly with weapons rather than melee. He's done videos on the likes of flails, combination weapons, tests with Igorot headhunting/kalinga axes, falchions, axes, etc. For as much as he emphasizes realism or can laugh at weapon designs with MAINY pointy bits, he has stated the joy of all-out fantasy as well and the importance of not taking things too seriously. or letting others tell you what to enjoy.
I'm so happy to see a video about these kinds of swords. I absolutely love massive blades, there's a reason my own character uses one lmao, so seeing a video just talking about them is dope Also seeing FF15 mentioned warms my heart. I love the characters in that game
Ike being able to throw a giant golden claymore in the air with one hand, jumping in the air to catch it, and doing a flip to slam it down all in consecutive order was what made me fall in love with Fire Emblem to begin with
This is a great, great idea for a video. Bravo on all the success this video will bring you. Everyone that loves anime, loves big swords. I’ve neverrrrrrr seen a video about them as the whole topic and I’ve seen a video where the whole topic was azien’s chair so that’s saying something.
Great video bro! I too have always loved BFS and in most games choose to wield a big sword haha. Even in anime I usually end liking the swordsman 😅 I wanna see a part 2 to this 😁
Oh you think so? Should I do more BFS or a different weapon category? I've been seeing some really cool ideas in the comments, maybe a BFG video or a Legendary Weapons video? Let me know! Thanks for the comment. 🩶

Good to see someone taking a serious look to weapon designs in games, gaming and hema (historical european martial arts) are like my 2 biggest hobbies and weapons in fiction tend to mean a lot to me as a result
Essay incoming because I have a very specific example of this that I occasionally obsess over. At the end of Devil May Cry 5, Dante gets his own personal BFS called the Devil Sword Dante. It's named after him because it is the weaponized embodiment of himself. In the story it signifies the peak of his power and gives him his ultimate form of the Sin Devil Trigger. In the game it brings so much to the table that I consider it the greatest story upgrade ever (as far as action games go, anyways). The sword gives Dante three new things: a new super form (or rage mode, whichever works for you) and summoned swords--spectral swords that have two major functions. Sin DT is a very powerful rage mode. It's not the typical rage mode that acts as a panic button or free damage opportunity. It instead requires that you hold the transformation button until you want to transform (which makes it a planned option instead of a panic mode) and that you have a maxed out style meter (meaning that you have to have near perfect control of the combat encounter). This form requires perfection and mastery and what you get are short yet nearly spammable bursts of great power that can be fluidly weaved multiple times in your combos. This is especially helpful on the hardest difficulty where enemy health and poise skyrocket. It does more utility things than just raw damage, but I'll keep it at that for now. Summoned Swords are primarily used for utility instead of damage. In gameplay, Dante can command these spectral swords to perform a couple of attacks that have different knockback properties to them. What makes it even better is how Dante doesn't commit to any kind of animation when he commands his swords. What I mean by this is that he doesn't need to stop whatever he's doing in order to give a signal. The swords just do their thing. If Dante is locked in any animation whatsoever, his swords will still do as you command. This allows players to implement them into combos in order to manipulate knockback or even stop it all together which greatly increases combo potential. At the highest level of play, players can quickly reposition themselves after inputing a summoned swords command in order to make it seem like the swords appeared from a different location, allowing for even more opportunities to be used in combat. The other use for summoned swords are its Swords Formation ability. This state is like a mini super form. It slightly boosts power, but it significantly boosts all four of Dante's styles. In Royalguard style, Dante can parry, counterattack, and store up parries for a huge attack. Swords Formations enhances this style by increasing RG gain and reduces damage taken. In Gunslinger style, Dante gains access to the rest of his gun moves. Swords Formations make the swords automatically target and shoot at the closest enemy you aren't locked on. In Trickster style, Dante gains way more mobility options. Swords Formations drastically boost this style by giving +1 of every movement option he has in this Trickster. Extra dash, extra air dash, extra jump, and extra teleport. Combine this with Dante's original super form and you get +2 of everything. In his last style, Swordmaster, Dante gains access to the rest of his melee attacks. Swords Formations will enhance every single melee attack he has in one of two ways. Some attacks will simply be followed by all four swords which is just a general damage boost. Other attacks will have the swords cover their weaknesses. For example, some attacks with a long windup (like an uppercut) will be covered by having the swords spin in a buzz saw formation in front of Dante which both stuns enemies and drags them closer in front of you for a guaranteed hit. All attacks also get a range increase due to the swords.
All the swords in Devil May Cry qualify as oversized swords. Rebellion, Force Edge, Red Queen, Alastor, Sparda, that one sword the Nero used at the intro of Devil May Cry 4, hell, even Yamato qualifies as in oversized sword.
@Aczie042 THIS!!! also sorry for missing Dante, I haven't played DMC games so I wasn't sure how relevant Dante's sword was seeing as he only received it in V. This comment is beautiful, thank you for the addition!! 🤍
@@Aczie042 you’re right I didn’t even think about that. All in all, DSD is still my favorite in concept and design with Nero’s Red Queen being the most fun to use and Yamato having my single most favorite attack (or guess series of attacks) in all of gaming: Judgement Cut
Ah, finally found the DMC fan section of the comments. ✋😂 Something I gotta point out, is that _"maximazing the style rank"_ aka. _"Quadruple S"_ is not mandatory for using "_Sin Devil Trigger/Second Super Form"._ It just allows you to skip the transformation animation, allowing you to fluently intergrate the SDT's moveset into your combo's like the playable character Dante would do. Also _"Devil Sword Dante"_ and it's _"Summoned Swords"_ have a deeper meaning as well: They connect the character Dante closer to his family, by giving him more traits to share. First he now obviously carries a sword with his own name, like his father before him. Secondly, the _Summoned Swords_ used to be *his brother Vergil's traitmark* since the very first DMC and were later given to Vergil's son Nero (and directly Dante as the demon weapon _"Lucifer".)_ But DSD now officially makes them a _"Family Trait",_ rather than a _"Vergil Trait",_ meaning *even Sparda* could've had them. Overall, _Devil Sword Dante_ is _"BFS"_ with a deep lore and symbolism behind it, than the typical _"anime big sword"._
@@solracstormhunter3023 for the first point, yes you’re right. I meant to say SSS is required for optimal play because otherwise it just sucks for a super form. As for your second point, I’ve only played the 5th game, so I couldn’t comment on its narrative symbolism. Thank you for this.
Brandon Sanderson's "Stormlight Archive" series is full of BFSs that can be summoned out of mist, change form, cut through just about anything, and have lore relevance with the divinity of the world. If you're into big swords and well-built, thought out magic systems I'd recommend checking it out; plus it's part of a connected world involving most of his other books.
Despite being traumatised from the eclipse, Berserk is my beloved, I do not regret watching it.. it’s a beautiful piece of work, and the art is absolutely stunning..
I think Rebellion from the Devil May Cry series should've mentioned alongside his wielder, Dante. But than I remember that's not the only BFS he uses through the series, with all of them having interesting lore behind, it makes difficult to pick only one.
@@joetalks. Yes and no he only covers Devil May Cry 5 he doesn't mention how important Rebellion is in DMC3 and how important the legacy of Sparda is throughout all the games.
Another person who uses a BFS for the storytelling purpose of being a protector is Artorias, the Abyss Walker, and Knight of Gwyn. His sword represents his strength and devotion to Gwyn, but also the isolation he felt as the strongest up until he met Sif. His sword carries this message, and his lineage on, in the next Dark Souls games It also represents his depraved bestial self when Manus takes hold of him. Battered, bruised, and unable to fight at his actual strength (or as a noble knight of Gwyn), he goes out flailing around like a sick dog, and that's amazing
A subversion to this trope that I really like is when a small weapon or object is capable of dealing massive amounts of damage that has to be witnessed to be believed. Massive swords have this menacing aura to them because they immediately exude significance and strength; you KNOW BY SIGHT they do their shit. But small items are so unassuming and so unexpected. Once you see what they can actually do, they give off this similar sense of anticipation, making the viewer wonder about the worst the object can do. Best example I know in manga is BLAME! and the Gravitational Beam Emitter. Killy (the MC) has what is arguably considered as the very first GBE in existence: a pistol. Compared to whatever Killy has to contend with in the City and all their weapons, the GBE looks so unassuming. But once you see the destruction the gun is capable of, it puts you on edge. Canonically, the GBE emits gravitons that fire straight, collapsing the gravitational stability around its trajectory, forcing an implosion then forcing an explosion. And yes, the whole trajectory is affected. It ensures utter annihilation of everything in its path compared to conventional firepower and lasers. It's like shooting linear black holes that manifest temporarily before disappearing, tearing apart the molecular structures of anything. The manga showcases well the chain reaction of destruction that Killy's GBE can deal. At its weakest, a Level 1 GBE shot has an average trajectory distance of 70 KILOMETERS. And get this; the recoil of the GBE is insane. Most fired shots send Killy flying back. At MAX level, firing the GBE completely dislocates (and even tears off) Killy's arm in the process.
Riven from league of legends carries a broken sword that, once it gets rebuilt thanks to her ultimate ability, becomes the big sword that she once wielded. She used to be a solider for an empire called Noxus which is an empire that values strenght above all else, she received her runic sword after getting recognition from the empire but the sword was just a way to keep her alive for a mission that killed her squad and a lot of innocents. She then deserts the Noxian empire after feeling betrayed for what she was tasked to do without her knowing, she tries to break the sword but by breaking it it also kills an innocent man that was trying to help Riven. She then becomes a farmer before having her past caughting up to her. She's now trying to repair her wrongs by fighting against the empire that she once fought for and represented everything that she stood for. Her blade actually represents her story quite well. A big and powerful sword that evoques strenght just like what she thought Noxus was all about, now being a broken blade just like what Riven is, a broken women who's trying to right her wrongs.
One I really like that isn’t discussed frequently is Red’s Transistor sword from the game Transistor. It’s fascinating because it is both the tool she uses to achieve her goals, but also the burden that sets the entire plot off, as it was used to attempt to kill her. Without getting into spoilers, it is such a fascinating use of the trope as Red is not a fighter by any notion, but she has to use the weapon which was meant to kill her, and in some ways stole the most important part of herself, while trying to save those she cares about
Personally I like it how it’s done in Berserk, Guts is just a human and even in universe people are extremely surprised there is someone strong enough to wild such a massive sword, the size of the sword is a plot point that shows Guts unusual monstrous strength and was part of the story since the beginning of the series, for most of the other characters is just visual flare.
Zanbato is just the Japanese word for a Zhan Ma Dao. It’s exactly as described. A sword for dealing with cavalry by killing the horse. Lit: Horse Butchering Sword. They were made famous for being employed by the famous Song dynasty general Yue Fei. I have one. It’s actually pretty easy to use and not heavy. Well balanced. It is awkward if you’re used to traditional two handed swords since the technique isn’t quite the same. But if you’ve used a claymore or zweihander the handling isn’t that far off. It’ll still feel weird at first though.
Magik from X-Men definitely counts here with her BoFS. I’m not a huge fan of Marvel, but I fell in love when I saw her for the first time a few years ago

War's Chaoseater in Darksiders is probably my favorite, its so over the top. They used the same split tip for Aatrox's sword in League of Legends. If anyone knows other swords like that tell me, i love them.

Also shoutout devil sword Sparta and Dante, they are epic as well
To go off of the vid’s ideas. Dante’s father; Sparta, was the king of the underworld, and was the strongest demon out there
When Dante gets his new sword, it combines his sword “rebellion” with the devil sword Sparta, making devil sword Dante. This shows how Dante has grown, both accepting his human AND demon side of his lineage.
Its Sparda, you got it wrong thrice
As a Siegfried/Nightmare main since day one of me playing Soul Calibur, I def appreciate this video. I for sure love this trope.
Nothing quite as pant shittingly cool irl as a functional zweihander.
Haha!
Wait until this man hears about shard blades
Giant swords? Power armor? Good writing?!
Is it getting hot in here or is that just me?
An additional piece of information is that the big sword = bodyguard has historical roots, Montante/Zweihander (The irl BFS) were used as a bodyguard's weapon, because their size serves the purpose of area control rather than "attack power", by swinging it around you deny your opponent the act of getting closer, allowing you to protect someone by keeping them out of harm's way.
"Get on my sword with that fat body, will you?"
My mind: ".........."
Me: "NOT...A...SINGLE...WORD"
the Scotsman from samurai jack is another example of a BFS wielder
Mimicry from lobotomy corporation but it is used by a character called 'The Red Mist' in library of ruina (the sequel to lobotomy corporation)
I mean it’s a huge flesh greatsword imbued with eyes how can it not be awesome also
Great split: horizontal
🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
a sword that i feel could pretty easily count for all three categories is the hand of malenia from elden ring.
cat 1: it exists as a symbol of power because malenia has never been defeated. ever. (well, at least until you show up)
cat 2: its a 9 foot long golden katana built into a prosthetic arm, how can it *not* be cool
cat 3: the sword being part of a prosthetic arm is there for a reason. malenia is rotting from the inside out, and has to have the prosthetics to do anything. the gold in them is meant to help her resist the rot. even then, she is considered to be the absolute final boss of her world.
Final Boss except for mad lad Radahn, which at his prime not only fought her to a stalemate, but did so having to hold the stars in place.
Mind you, he holds TWO BFS.
Ragna The Bloodedge from Blazblue is my favorite character in this trope. And his "sword", Aramasa, triples as a scythe and a spear!
dude, I freaking love the demon slayer sword, its one of my favorite sword and one of my favorite characters overall.
love the video, keep it up man.
That's quite a big sword you got there. Definitely compensating for something.
Honorable mention: Guilty Gear protagonist Sol Badguy's "Fireseal" (Blazer) or Junkyard Dog in the later parts of the series
It's a weapon made from the remains of a much more powerful weapon called the "Outrage." Said weapon was so strong that it had to be broken into multiple fragments which Sol poses a modified version of the Fireseal combined with the Flashing fang thus creating the Junkyard dog.
There's also another character in the Guilty Gear series named Nagoriyuki who welds a Daisho (a large oodachi plus a wakizashi) and is one of the few weapons capable of dealing fatal damage to Sol Badguy who possess impressive regeneration and durability from being a gear (its complicated but the Guilty Gear story is also complicated so eh)
you earned my subscription by way of starting a video about big swords (a thing i already love) with Nujabes
“Blades of Fearsome Size? I don’t think they exist.”
*(Gets Bisected by Dragonslayer)*
For as much as he emphasizes realism or can laugh at weapon designs with MAINY pointy bits, he has stated the joy of all-out fantasy as well and the importance of not taking things too seriously. or letting others tell you what to enjoy.
fun fact: in some scenes ichigo sits upright while his shikai zangetsu is strapped to his back
I'm so happy to see a video about these kinds of swords. I absolutely love massive blades, there's a reason my own character uses one lmao, so seeing a video just talking about them is dope
Also seeing FF15 mentioned warms my heart. I love the characters in that game
Ike being able to throw a giant golden claymore in the air with one hand, jumping in the air to catch it, and doing a flip to slam it down all in consecutive order was what made me fall in love with Fire Emblem to begin with
Solid and Hefty video man (like the swords) you deserve more subs.
As a greatsword fan, this was very informative. And such info will help me improve my dream story of a dude with a big sword. 👍
This is a great, great idea for a video. Bravo on all the success this video will bring you. Everyone that loves anime, loves big swords. I’ve neverrrrrrr seen a video about them as the whole topic and I’ve seen a video where the whole topic was azien’s chair so that’s saying something.
BFS are cool as hell. One of my personal favorites is Raime's Fume Ultra Greatsword from Dark Souls 2.
Great video bro! I too have always loved BFS and in most games choose to wield a big sword haha. Even in anime I usually end liking the swordsman 😅
I wanna see a part 2 to this 😁
Oh you think so? Should I do more BFS or a different weapon category? I've been seeing some really cool ideas in the comments, maybe a BFG video or a Legendary Weapons video? Let me know! Thanks for the comment. 🩶
Ive been thinking this for years!Great to see you finally do it! Im always ln strength build in Fromsoftware games there is just something about magmanamous and iconic!
Good to see someone taking a serious look to weapon designs in games, gaming and hema (historical european martial arts) are like my 2 biggest hobbies and weapons in fiction tend to mean a lot to me as a result
Thank you for making this video. I'm creating a manga series, and this video came in so handy!!
3:30 I see what you did here Mr. Narrator man
Essay incoming because I have a very specific example of this that I occasionally obsess over.
Something I gotta point out, is that _"maximazing the style rank"_ aka.
Can’t forget the best shardblade: F O R K
Despite being traumatised from the eclipse, Berserk is my beloved, I do not regret watching it.. it’s a beautiful piece of work, and the art is absolutely stunning..
I think Rebellion from the Devil May Cry series should've mentioned alongside his wielder, Dante. But than I remember that's not the only BFS he uses through the series, with all of them having interesting lore behind, it makes difficult to pick only one.
Was thinking this the whole time! His entire arsenal is a BFS in itself!
Awesome video. Im glad someone is talking about this awesome trope
8:58 Ayoo what is mickey doing there ?!
A video about oversized swords but doesn't show Dante from Devil May Cry.
Dante: "What the hell is this?!?"
check out @thejoaqindead9515's comment, it does better than I ever could have :)
@@joetalks. Yes and no he only covers Devil May Cry 5 he doesn't mention how important Rebellion is in DMC3 and how important the legacy of Sparda is throughout all the games.
@@Aczie042 oh wow I didn't know all this. Thank you for adding, I am not familiar with the DMC games at all 🩶🩶
nujabes 1 minute in this is your best video
R.I.P one of the greats. Thanks for the comment!🩶
809th sub, nice video, excited for your next work!
Another person who uses a BFS for the storytelling purpose of being a protector is Artorias, the Abyss Walker, and Knight of Gwyn. His sword represents his strength and devotion to Gwyn, but also the isolation he felt as the strongest up until he met Sif. His sword carries this message, and his lineage on, in the next Dark Souls games
It also represents his depraved bestial self when Manus takes hold of him.
Of course there also the Noisy Cricket from Men In Black.

- "it was added as a greatsword"
- shows longsword
what did he mean by this
My fault I'm a switch axe guy. I mixed it up
They turn your enemies into a red mist.
Funnily enough, several of my favorite characters wield big swords and just so happened to be talked about in this video.
10:02 About time somebody acknowledges the *true* Black Swordsman
Nice to see the Tessaiga
Great video man 👍
My love for big fxcking swords actually came from Dynasty Warriors 4. Lol. Made a character with Fu Xi's greatsword, and I fell in love.
Thank you for getting Ragnell in the thumbnail
Agreed.
It might not be as big as the other BFSs in the video, it's attached to one of my favorite characters.
“BFS” I can’t be the only one who thought BIG FUCKING SWORD
One I really like that isn’t discussed frequently is Red’s Transistor sword from the game Transistor. It’s fascinating because it is both the tool she uses to achieve her goals, but also the burden that sets the entire plot off, as it was used to attempt to kill her. Without getting into spoilers, it is such a fascinating use of the trope as Red is not a fighter by any notion, but she has to use the weapon which was meant to kill her, and in some ways stole the most important part of herself, while trying to save those she cares about
The absolute classic, the Dragon Slayer. Probably the most iconic BFS ever made, and absolutely deserved to be the first one talked about.
Especially since so many characters riff off of it so blatantly. Thanks for the comment! Put your grasses on friend. 🩶
I'd say Buster Sword is more widespread. There's just so much more FF media, VII especially.
You’ve shown soul calibur, I am happy
I’m not a huge fan of Marvel, but I fell in love when I saw her for the first time a few years ago
one of my top anime this year is I Parry Everything.
Noor is a Great Sword himbo that only knows the fundamentals, and thats all he needs. I recommend it for every big sword enjoyer, though he doesn’t start out with one. don’t worry, he earns it!
I love how the Soul Calibur 2 ost is the agreed upon theme of the whole series.
No mention of Rebellion, Alastor, Force Edge, Devil Sword Sparda, and/or Devil Sword Dante from DMC?
There's also the Dabilahro and "Unlabored Flawlessness" from Ninja Gaiden. The latter of which is a homage to Miyamoto Musashi.
As a great sword main in monster hunter this video makes me happy
not even a thousand subscribers with a video of this quality
truly a hidden gem
Thanks a ton my friend 🩶
If we are talking about big swords we can say that zaraki kenpachi sword is terrifiying if i see a dented fucked up sword at the hands of a guy who is smiling while killing ppl i would shit my pants in 5 different stages, and dont get me started on his shikai bcs omg that thing is not even a sword at this point
how nifty that this was recommended to me a few days after finding a nodachi in my grandfather's (may he rest in peace) garage

Hey very cool vid! It would be very nice to see your take on the BFG trope (big freaking gun)
Noted 📝📝
There's even a blade that DOOM Guy weilds in DOOM Eternal.
another talking point on Guts' sword is the amount of od its gained through all the Apostles he's killed over the years, and even how the Berserker Armor enhanced his fighting ability to where he is more like an animal or a wild beast.
Yo I see you with that Samurai Champloo opening music

Was so glad when they patched in the Fusion omnislash in smash bros. Such an awesome moment in the film! 🩶
War's Chaoseater in Darksiders is probably my favorite, its so over the top. They used the same split tip for Aatrox's sword in League of Legends. If anyone knows other swords like that tell me, i love them.
I remember reading this manga like 10 years ago where the protag had a cracked BFS. Havent been able to find it again. Feels bad man
Once you get to "The Blade is Me" and find out what Ichigo's old Zangetsu truly was....... this is difficult to put into words without spoilers.
