  • Hank Williams Jr. ended his Country Music Hall of Fame acceptance speech with a flex and a not-so-subtle dig at the institution welcoming him and his outlaw kind.
    #hankjr #hankwilliamsjr #countrymusichalloffame
Hank Williams Jr., Dean Dillon and Marty Stuart were inducted during as the Country Music Hall of Fame's class of 2020.
"The good thing is, this didn't happen yesterday," Williams began during his Nov. 21 speech, "which was the opening day of deer season. Which is kind of like squirrel season was with my father," his father being country music pioneer and Country Music Hall of Famer Hank Williams.
"My little 6-year-old grandson sitting out there with his .44 Magnum Ruger, took his first deer," Willams revealed during his speech, smiling and pausing to allow the crowd to show its appreciation for the moment.
At this point - 40 seconds into the speech - Williams was more than one-third finished. While fellow Country Music Hall of Fame inductee Marty Stuart spread his remarks over 13 minutes and Dean Dillon spoke for eight, Bocephus wrapped up in a tidy 1:48.

Definitely a deserved induction. My best friend and I sent him a letter while we were in the Gulf War. We asked him if / to write a song about kicking butt and winning the war. Sure enough he did. Additionally he placed the letter in his museum. Along with sending both of us a fully autographed photo signed by his whole band. Utmost respect for him and his induction into the Hall of Fame.

When Hank Jr first started out the purists hated it - they thought it was too rock-'n'-roll
I remember it well - people forget that shit - Country music has always been cyclical and it has always been an evolution- go back and listen to Roy Acuff - hell Roy didn't want Marty Robbins in the Grand ole Opry cause? He wasn't "country"
Damn - people need to get educated on the history of this genre- and I was born a stone's throw from where Bill Monroe was born - in the country - so I know a little bit about it - PS Earl Thomas Conley had the biggest reason to be pissed off - talking about getting fucked by the Nashville machine-

I saw my first Hank Jr concert in 1963, I was 13 years old, Hank Jr was 12.
My 14-year-old brother, 15-year-old cousin and his girlfriend & I went to the concert. When the concert was over my brother went up on stage and started talking to some of the bandmembers telling them that we were born in Paris Tennessee and how we had always been a fan of Jr and his father.
One of the bandmembers introduced my brother to Hank. After talking with Hank for a few minutes Hank said why don’t you guys come on over to the hotel with us and we’ll talk some more. We did we talked with him until 6 AM. Even though at that early age he was a big star doing lots of concerts and becoming very famous he was just a regular boy with us.
I had a chance to run into him again in 1997 in a gas station in Paris Tennessee I told him of my first memory of him and as we had a conversation in the gas station parking lot again he was just a regular guy. He always was and always will be my favorite country star, a legend a long time ago.

As George Jones would say, who's gonna feel there shoes. It's the legends like Waylon and Hank and Jones and Conway and so many others that will never be replaced or reproduced. They are all a sign of the best days really are over for good and there will never be anyone else like the greats that paved the way. It's hard to choose between the two but the 2 favorite songs from Hank for me are Mr Lincoln and weatherman. Every time I listen to either one I think if that isn't the truth and owe how sad it is to see where the world is today and the shape of this country and what certain garbage in the political realm have turned it into is just a sad state of affairs. It's certainly clear that there is a reason why this man wasn't placed into country music hall of Fame many years ago because he is absolutely one of the best that's ever been and is long past due to be placed into this so called hall of Fame. The reason why I'm sure is because of his political views and what he believes and stands for just like so many others that are censored and silenced and aren't heard from because of the sides agenda and power

I don’t disagree necessarily. But if you look but Zach Bryan’s songs I think you will enjoy and he’s an up and comer. Not sure if they will ruin and/or cancel him by the time he hits it big but I think while his music doesn’t sound exactly the same as the good ole boys I think the nature of his song writing and style is reminiscent of the good ole days of country. True pain and sadness u can feel watching him.

He's pretty damn far from perfect and I definitely don't agree with everything he's done in his life but I think even someone as petty and childish as you should easily see the drastic difference between Trump's presidency and the hose plant right now. The whole country is now at very high risk of being attacked and attempts being made to conquer the citizens and it's primarily due to super fragile, sensitive and completely oblivious people such as yourself that find it impossible to decide what gender they are or if they're not really even a human being but rather a toaster or a big chunk of tofu. From the first time I heard family tradition I knew he was going to be an icon in the outlaw, country music industry. Sometimes the mainstream didn't quite see eye to eye with hanks style, But people like myself didn't care about all that. Hank is a true patriot who loves this country the way it was and the way it's going to be again. I have to say Hank has been my musical hero for decades. I have seen him in concert more times that i can count, and each time he never disappointed the audience.A highlight for me was when I met him in NYC in 2010 at the XMsirius studio We had a one on one discussion about hunting farming and music. That is when I realized that Hank is just a regular guy that is one hell of an entertainer. Congratulations Mr Hank Williams JR You are a true icon.
