Hello everyone, this ramp has been planned as an inclusive space for everyone. But everyone should respect the space and stop leaning or gathering or littering on it, hindering the passage for persons with disabilities etc. The space is narrow when all the public want to go on it. So public can have a quick experience if they really want to and leave it for persons with disabilities to navigate the space freely. The plan for this ramp was initiated by GCC on the request on members of Disability Rights Alliance Tamilnadu (DRA TN) members, with a temporary ramp done every year's world Disability day until last November 2022 when the permanent ramp was executed. DRA members had been providing technical and social support to GCC all these years to materialise this. We worked with multi stakeholders like fishermen, beach vendors, environmentalists, local residents, environment dept and GoI since 2016. I have been part of this work with GCC since 2016 onwards. It should also be used by people who are old and having back problems who can't manage walking on uneven surfaces.. So, as long as this is not a hindrance to those on wheel chairs- thats fine

So you cannot tell that others cannot use it. Instead, you can say youngsters and people those who can walk on sand please use and don’t use the path.

This was installed only for physically challenged people not for normal people they have security there still people don't listen to them . The reason is if everyone uses it then the life of this ramp will reduce and high maintainence will be required , if only physically challenged people uses this it will last longer.
