Hey all! Bit less cell reception on this one vs the Mississippi but I’ll be posting as regularly as possible and as always I read and appreciate every comment when I do get reception
Yay! Glad to see you back on trail. I loved the canoe paddle series, and look forward to all of yours, and Jen's, adventures. Thanks so much for taking the time to share them with us.
I had to pause watching the Mississippi videos to see you back on the trail where you belong! Can't wait for the rest of the videos. Enjoy Colorado, we have a great state here!!!
I’m so glad for you doing the things I wish I could do. I miss Jens laughter and I can only imagine how much you miss her. Yours are the best videos and I’ll get to enjoy them the rest of my life. Thank you so much.
It’s always a hard adjustment being apart for a few months and this one felt particularly hard on us both coming off such a special trip. But we’re managing and trying to just focusing on November when we’ll be together again
Yay! Back on trail! I really enjoyed the Mississippi paddle - you went right thru our "backyard" Sauk Rapids - but I did not see your channel until after you had gone by - you were near Iowa when I picked up and subscribed - been binge watching ever since - just finished your first CDT - felt so bad for you! Keep going! I really enjoy tuning in!
Yay! Back on the trail! I have never done well over 12000 feet: headaches and dizziness and rangers telling me to get the heck down to 10000. I hope it goes smoothly for you!
Really great to see you back Matt, but we miss Jen too. Looking forward to this part of your hike. Saw some SOBO’s last week crossing the CO/WY border. Seemed like a bubble. They were asking about RMNP and the bear canisters. Ghost said he did the Grand Basin in 2 days. Told him to look for you, should be close behind.
Hell yeah! I did the AT last year, so I'm tentatively planning on doing the CDT in 2025. Always good to see videos you put out, especially now that it's relevant to my future plans. Keep it up, dude!
followed the miss trip alomost every day got covid 4 days ago and watched the key west trip steght through turn this on and you look and sound differnt it must be the alldiude good luck the picture of you with covid is how i feel rite now good luck
GREAT to see you back on the trail again! The Mississippi adventure was nifty and seeing Taters regularly was always fun, but true Masochist fans want to see you suffering on the trail! Wait, not really suffering. Last year's end to the CDT was truly distressing since it really knocked you out and off the trail. And that takes a lot! Anyway, glad to see you back. Looking forward to the next couple of months. Happy Trails and Hike on! Tortoise
Great to see you on trail again ! I saw the first 5 videos of the Missisipi and went on a 2 weeks section hike. The last day i had a kneeproblem and had to quit . So i bingewatchted the hole Missisipi adventure. A beautifull journey ! But as a hiker : yeah CDT ! 😋 Btw , i heard you mention you could potentionally come hiking in Europe . If you need anything in Belgium give me a shout.
Best wishes for an awesome trip! The trail was a little scary-narrow...hope Jen has adjusted back into her school schedule alright. Nice send-off to visit your folks before the trip. You got this!👍
Glad to see you back. It's also nice not to be experiencing vicarious the heat and humidity. The Mississippi was cool to see but it is nice to see you "home" on the trail, particularly at high altitude in the Rockies.
Great you are continuing on the cdt; such beautiful scenery already. I'm curious which hikes you have in mind for Europe... As always, thank you for sharing your adventures!
Yay! I wasn't able to work out a hiking trip to Colorado this year like I had hoped (work got in the way 🫤🙄) so thanks for letting me go via your videos. Not quite the same but I'll take it! Here's hoping you won't experience the same foot issues as you have in the past, and you get your trail legs back quickly. 🙏🏻🤞🏻
@@FirstChurchofTheMasochistHikes 😂 I hope not! Poor choice of words on my part 🤦🏼♀️. Should have said hoping for no foot issues. I shouldn't comment before at least my third (preferably fourth) cup of coffee. Happy trekking 🥾!
Welcome back. It’s nice to see you on the trail again. Too bad Jen can’t be with you, I know you miss her. I love all of your videos, always have. Take care and stay safe.
He's BACK! Looking forward to following along as you wrap this trail up. Though I will be SHOCKED if you actually manage the red line the whole way; either by choice because there are more interesting alts along the way, or by outside forces of nature. Good luck!
Great to have the morning videos to enjoy again! Must admit I miss the female “home sweet home” ending. Maybe you can have Jenn do some voiceovers for ya! Be safe!
How is Jen doing with her injury at the end of your Mississippi adventure. Your doing fine and will finish in amazing shape. Sorry about your sleeping bag issue. 🥾🥾🥾
Mine didn’t noticeably go down too much. It’s been an adjustment but not anything near as bad as I’d feared. It’s too bad my paddle arms / core will be withering away though. Ah well

Hooray! Great to see you back!
Welcome back to us Matty
Great to see you back out there. Hopefully, this time things go a bit more okay-ish.
It’s weird how solitude is saddening and strengthening simultaneously. Happy trails brother.
Hey, advanced warning. There are a couple of fires going west of Pagosa Springs. Check before entering the San Jauns.
Lets go! Best of luck on your hike, Im excited to follow along!
Nice recap of last season’s closing episodes, Matt. You’ll real enjoy Gray’s when you get up there.
Welcome back! Glad to see you back on trail! Stay safe and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
Beard looks good!
Outstanding, hope your hike is everything you hoped for! Onward to Mexico and take care of those feet.

🥾🥾🥾
Her broken butt was better after a few days.
Advantages of youth :)
This will count as having completed the triple crown won't it? It dam well better!
will be interesting to see how your legs will handle all the use after the mississippi. I lost a lot in my legs during the trip
Mine didn’t noticeably go down too much. It’s been an adjustment but not anything near as bad as I’d feared. It’s too bad my paddle arms / core will be withering away though. Ah well
Yay!!!
I miss hearing Taters giggle. What is a bear barrel? I envision rodeo clown barrel. Didn't see you packing one of those.
Of course you don't have to worry about heat rash on this trip
Huzzah!🎉
Heck yesss, more Masochist content!
The people that buy a lot are going to think they have a farm and put 2 horses on it and have putting greens form over grazing
You are what is called a Shy Extrovert.......
