    Recent New Patreon subscriber here. I'm currently following your progress on the ADT. I have gone back to watch some of your other trails (Mississippi paddle, Condor). I see in this video the first seeds that led you to ADT. I find it just a little funny - right now where I'm at on this CDT and current ADT, you are wandering around Colorado, about to see your parents in both. Will Winter catch up with you in either/both of them . . . . the mystery!!

    Really love the looks of the trail today. If you hadn’t been so fit when covid attacked you and so tough you got back out there, we’d be missing all this. Thank you Matt.

    Glad you are doing better, if still with the "moose-scaring" cough! Really nice trail through here with spectacular views! Hmmm. American Discovery Trail, huh? Sounds interesting. And even though I am on the East Coast, I could also hear Taters' eyes rolling from here! Stay warm, recover, and hike on! Tortoise

      Once again, she is a far better partner than I deserve. Her initial reaction wasn’t exasperation, but she’s actually considering it.

    That moose has eyes for you... Beautiful lighting for your video, nice pace who needs Godzilla fast.,. Yes you are goal oriented young one... many areb" rolling their eyes for the mention of a new long distance challenge".[ insatiable need for pain... your threshold is amazing. The Army could model their super soldier on it .Must get the calories in though, the cold will make you burn crazy extra for warmth. Sleep well, dream of Mexican food. You are a wonder sir. How many lifetime miles have you logged ,? 100,000 club ?Soon the challenges will be walking the pipeline high tension wire pathway... you could be their inspector
    Get paid keep on walking, all over the USA

    The ADT, while a different animal from the AT, PCT, and CDT, would be my choice of long trail because it is coast to coast, the walk-across-America dream some of us grew up with as kids. Never got to do a coast to coast, but I have done parts of the WV and OH ADT sections, and they were enjoyable.

      I figure with all the overlap with the CDT if I was going to do the Colorado Trail it would have to be when Taters could join me

    Love your videos. Got a question if you have time to respond. I am looking at the same Patagonia R1 fleece jacket you are wearing. Is it warm and what temp levels do you feel comfortable wearing it over your Black Diamond hoodie which I have too? Good luck and hope you continue to get stronger from your Covid bout.

      It’s an emergency replacement for my old arctyryx fortrez fleece. I wish I still had my arctyryx but considering they pulled it off the market the R1 has generally worked well. Biggest complaint is the chest pocket is too small to fit a phone which seems like a very odd design choice. Beyond that I’ve basically been living in it full time the last week or two

    What kind of trails would you like to do in Europe?

    • @FirstChurchofTheMasochistHikes
      @FirstChurchofTheMasochistHikes  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’d really like to do the remainder of the IAT and there are some interesting looking treks across Scotland, France, and a few other places that it would be interesting to do circumstances allowing

    Unsolicited vote. North Country Trail! You could definitely squeeze into the weather window with a late March/early April departure from Vermont. Just get thru ND by mid/late October.

      That one is on my list as well due to it being on the NST11. I do really like the idea of a coast to coast hike like the discovery trail though

      @@FirstChurchofTheMasochistHikes Think of the opportunities with the NCT, nobody does that one on TH-cam. You could be a pioneer, and after everyone sees all the road walks they will surely flock to it since they seem to be so popular.

  • @orchestratedpassage9468

      I did plenty on the ECT. I’m much more amenable to them when it’s not shortcutting actual trail on something like the CDT
