I feel like Celine doesn't get enough credit for her runs. She's not a Tori Kelly doing super long runs with lots of notes as much, but they're super clean and she know when to throw them in to give more flavor to a song.
she really is masterful. I have yet to hear a singer who can sing ANY genre. Her agility, her clarity and her musicality make her in a league of her own imo
Celine is A Standard ALL BY HERSELF. Saw her LIVE in Paris a few years ago and BOY, she sounded cleaner and crisper than on a CD. Celine, TRULY is Masterful at her Craft. Was soooo WAITING for you to cover one of her performances. ACE
which Vegas concert? I was lucky to see the 1st one 3 times and the second once... it helps to know people in the business wink After I saw her in A New Day I thought she had become a "legend" in my opinion. Few have the voice, the charisma, the stage presence and the showmanship.
This performance really is a must. It is so rich with vocal moments to analyze. An A cappella intro (where she pushes slightly sharp) but is so contained in her tuning. Incredibly well sustained belts. Some of the smoothest melismas and transitions throughout almost every register. It's an absolute masterpiece of a live performance. th-cam.com/video/-vo3x4KQG6w/w-d-xo.html
@@Garthofficialmusic I actually heard her sing this LIVE. It was her CALL BACK at the end of her concert!!!!! She is a power house! There are funny anecdotes to the recording, it was filmed for a TV special so the audience was forewarned they might have to redo some songs or portions of songs. If you look around the 2:45 mark, you'll notice Celine walking back... they had to redo this section for her to be on the right spot for lighting... just before the crazy riffing and sustained notes... the audience is heard cheering as they KNEW what was coming again... she sang this live many time and at many concert... a vocal beast !
FINALLY some Celine!!!👏🏼😊 She's got MANY masterclass live performances from over the last 40+ years!!! One of my favorate is "L'amour existe encore" LIVE for the Victims 9/11, This is an INCREDIBLE performance.
I would love to see Celine do this song with a gospel choir because I’ve always felt like the lyrics could very well be dedicated to Jesus and it would hardly change ❤ Such a beautiful song
I saw the thumbnail and immediately assumed it was the Infamous All By Myself after the death of her husband 😢❤ but i guess she'll kill any performance
This video uploaded just in time for me to watch it while I enjoy my late dinner. Celine is a talented and gifted vocalist. I have listened to this song so many times over the years.
I would recommend the following performances from the plethora to choose from: 1. I Can’t Help Falling In Love With You from the Coliur of My Love Tour 2. River Deep Mountain High from the David Letterman Show 3. Pour Que Tu M’aimes Encore from the Tonight Show 4. Love Can Move Mountains from the Arsenio Hall Show
Please DO MAP TO MY HEART! the recording and the music also suggest: 1)Map to my heart 2) Que Peut Vivre sans amour 3)love can move mountains 4) A cause remix 5) the power of the dream (olympic performance - she was sick that day and actually collapsed backstage after performing) 6) thats just the women in me 7) save your soul 8) soul from her courage album
I didn't know she was sick on the day of the Olympic Performance....I loved that song better than the official Olympic theme that year "Reach." The way she effortlessly slides up on the line "And every boy and girl, as they come into this world" still gives me chills
React to what I consider to be one of the greatest vocal performances of all time by anyone, Celine's version of Calling You, live in Paris. It is sublime.
I have heard her sing that live and before the "95 live À Paris the arrangements were different her she use to add an ascending run that was sooooo high! But the later arrangement had more sustained belts and hard for me to say which one I preferred. She is MAGICAL
Finally hahaaha i feel blessed today thank you for reacting to celine keep them coming please react to her live version of only one road on tonight show vocalls are off the chart
She has so many subtleties to her voice and performances that it takes someone with a great eye and ear like you to really break it down for us! Thanks :)
Have always loved Celine and your description of her voice around 3:30 is so spot-on and I wonder how much of this is her native French tongue but it definitely makes her sound very unique in our American songbook. ❤😊 You have so much vocal talent YOURSELF, I find you amazing. 😊
This is one of my most favorite songs of hers, but I wish she had done the bridge part which is absolutely beautiful! Fabulous analytics, once again, Mr. Legrair!
I just love your videos. I’ve been waiting for you to react to more of Celine for so long. This video was great. There are so many more videos that you should see of her. I personally think her singing The Reason or Natural Woman were particularly good but then again everything she does is amazing. I love watching you react to these amazing singers and breakdown their techniques. Great vid. ❤❤
I think people have a tough time emulating her voice. It really changes depending on the era, while still being her. A lot of the vowels and nasal tones are way more subtle than we hear when people try exaggerated imitations of her voice. In the 90s and early 2000s she was much more focused on a cleaner sound, but especially in the 2010s and onward she goes for a grittier, vocal fry sound a lot…And in Vegas she used a lot of saline humidifiers which kind of changed her sound too. You should react to her Paris 1995 performances - Le Ballet, Priere Paienne, and Le Blues Du Businessman for sure. And Le Ballet 1997 Memphis is good. There are so many iconic performances. 1991 Juno Awards Where Does My Heart Beat Now
So glad to see this! If you really want a VOCAL MASTERCLASSS check out her singing "Le Blues Du Business" Vive a Paris. Hands down one of the best recordings of live singing in existence. "Calling You" from the Bagdad Cafe, also in the live tape,... is also profound. "Le Blues Du Businessman" has I think 9 belted C#5s in it, each perfectly placed.... very similair to Ah Mes Amis from Fille Du Regiment. As a fellow voice teacher, you'll really nerd of...
Some of the best runs I ever heard in life and to get them in a row like this is wild 9:21 then @ 9:28 then again @ 9:34 then 9:39 and finally @ 10:05 I'm literally on the floor 😂😂😂😂
Yes she’s a legend. So sad what’s happening with her. She will always be one of the greats. Can you do the anyone performance by Demi Lovato at the Grammys please❤❤❤❤❤
Loved your analyzes :) I see you never reacted to Floor Jansen, the best rock singer alive. Try Ghost love score live from Wacken she sings with Nightwish and is also a solo artist. For her solo stuf try oblivion
My grandma took this as a gospel song and tbh replacing the “baby” with Lord, it makes a lot of sense. He is your strength when you are weak, the voice when you can’t speak Don’t mean to get into a preachy mood but idk just thought I’d share
with some coaching she might have a career wink wink She really is a vocal master. Glad you got to react to Celine en solo. There are so many great recordings.... a more recent one is Mr Paganini there are gem like Can't help falling in love from early 90s and Ton Visage from the late 80s. I could list so many more. Enjoy the journey of listening to sing every genre.... reggae, jazz, blues, classical pop, you name it, she's done it.
Just love it! Would you please do Angela Bofill? She is such an iconic raw singer, very latin sound, just love her. I would love to see a review on her. She even has a bachelor's degree on music. 🫶🏽
Celine Dion proud member of the vocal trinity
Who do you have in the top three ?
I'm going to guess Whitney and Mariah@@heinz57channel39
@@heinz57channel39 It's one of those socially established things that it's Celine, Whitney, and Mariah.
Yes yes we love the vocal trinity!!!

Yes!!

Celine is a technician.
That's probably because she gets credit for literally EVERYTHING she does. Being a musician, I get it.
Celine is A Standard ALL BY HERSELF. Saw her LIVE in Paris a few years ago and BOY, she sounded cleaner and crisper than on a CD. Celine, TRULY is Masterful at her Craft. Was soooo WAITING for you to cover one of her performances. ACE
Celine top 10- greatest voices of all time!!!!!!
FACT 💯

The fact that Celine has been so consistent singing so many demanding songs... That's queen shit.

Celine's cover of "A Change Is Gonna Come" for a tribute to Aretha Franklin is fantastic Later Celine.

Remember that English is not her first language. Some of her intonation comes from that.
Do you have to analyze every line she sings?
Why she's apart of the the holy trinity Whitney, Mariah and Celine.
She sounds like she has peanut butter in her mouth sometimes. I can't explain it.
I feel like a lot of these are like her accent and less conscious technique ?
Also you have no JoJo on your channel! Straight to jail
