There are times when I can't differentiate them. They blend so perfectly, a really terrific performance and recording. One of Barbra's best duets for sure.
Celine did the talk show circuit after this. Among other things, she said that when Barbra called her to talk about this, she was all tongue-tied because her idol had called. Barbra said she knew exactly how she felt, because she felt that way when she sang with Judy Garland.
This title was released in 1997. Barbara was 55 at the time, Celine 31. In case you didn't know, Barbara is a singer, actor, director, producer, songwriter .... I love both their voices
Another fire duet is Barbra Streisand and Donna Summer “No More Tears (Enough is Enough)” from 1979. They both slay this song! Make sure it is the extended version though.
Barbra Streisand and Neil Diamond - You Don't Bring Me Flowers, Barbara Streisand and Barry Gibb - Guilty, Barbra Streisand, Donna Summer- No More Tears
Barbra is married to James Brolin. They have a blended family including James's son Josh. So essentially she's Thanos' step mother. Lol. IF you watched The Amityville Horror (1979) James plays George Lutz. Barbra is a great woman. She's a singer, director, actress and a decent human being. I'm glad you liked this one.
I always laugh about the scene from Friends, where Rachel found out she was pregnant but Phoebe pretends she’s the pregnant one so the others don’t find out. When they ask who the father is, Phoebe says James Brolin. And Chandler is like, “you mean Barbra Streisand’s husband, James Brolin?” 😄
Barbra has been my favorite female singer since I was 16 years old. I am now 68 and she still is. She sang a duet with Neil Diamond called 'You Don't Bring Me Flowers' you would love.
Celine Dion grew up listening to Streisand a music and aspiring to sing like her. Celine was born in Quebec, Canada on 1968. She was married to Rene Angelil ( her much older.manager. They have 2 children. Rene died several years ago) Barbra Streisand was born in 1942 and grew up in Brooklyn, N.Y. She got her start in nightclubs, Broadway and tv. Barbra is a singer, songwriter, actress, director and producer. She was married to the actor, Elliot Gould ( 1963- 1971). and they have 1 son. She didn't get married again until 1998 to actor, James Brolin ( they are still married) Barbra is in her 80's now and still working. Check out a young Barbra doing a duet with Judy Garland, "Happy Days are Here Again/Get Happy" on tv. ( vIdeo.... black and white) (Judy Garland is the original singer of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow from n the Wizard of Oz movie) *Barbra Streisand songs: " The Way We Were", "People", " Memories", "Somewhere", "A Woman In Love" (written by Barry and Robyn Gibb). ( videos of her signing whenever possible) *Duets: w/ Neil Diamond........."You Dont a bring Me Flowers Anymore" w/Barry Gibb..............."Guilty". (video) w/Donna Summer....."No More Tears ( Enough is Enough).....the extended version You may know her acting from "Meet The Fockers". If you are interested in seeing how amazingly talented she is I suggest you watch her movie, " Funny Girl" this movie runs the full gammit.from drsma, romance to comedy and several different typrs of songs.....Don't Rain on My Parade, People.and My Man.being the top.3. Barbra KS one of online few performrrs/entertainers to have won the prestigious EGOT....Emmy, Gra!my, Oscar and Tony Awards. (Whoopi Goldberg is another). She had sold over 150 million albums. If you look her up her list of accomplishments is very long. Barbra also starred in the 1970's version of the movie, "A Star Is Born" with Kris Kristofferson ( country singer and member of the group the Highwaymen ). Sorry I tend to go on and on, but that's who I am. I like to inform when I can. Love your reactions.and love the look of amazement you show.when you discover someone or band for the first time. So much talent out there, keep discovering it.
Celine and Rene have 3 boys. The 2 youngest are twins. Barbra said when she did this duet with Celine it reminded her of her singing with Judy Garland. She admired Judy very much.
For many years…there was no female vocalist that could even compare to Barbra. Celine Dion changes that. Celine idolized Barbra. Their duet was pure perfection! No one could duplicate this!
BARBARA HAS WON GRAMMYS , EMMYS, OSCARS FOR BEST ACTRESS AND DIRECTOR, A D TONY AWARDS , BARBARA HAS SOLD OVER 150 MILLION ALBUM WORLDWIDE.... WE WILL NEVER SEE A TALENT LIKE THIS AGAIN , SHE DID IT ALL...NOBODY CAME CLOSE TO THE TALENT BARBARA HAD.....
One of the things which make Barbara Streisand such a unique and wonderfully amazing singer is the way she sings like shes having a conversation.. this is a masterclass by two of the greatest vocalists ever.. ❤
The look on your face when Barbra started singing, lmao, it's how I feel EVERYTIME I hear her. She's a masterclass in and of herself. It's just so amazing. One of my favorite songs ever.
That's exactly right!!! This was all about a conversation between a mother and her daughter. David Foster, who had produced both artists during their careers, wrote the song specifically for Celine to perform with Barbra as it was a lifelong dream of her's to sing with her idol, so David made it happen. The song was actually written by David, Linda Thompson (Elvis' one-timw girlfriend), and Celine. Since there's a 26-year difference between the two ladies (Celine was 29, Barbra 55), the lyrics were perfect. Celine's voice is stunning, but I agree with you, there's something other-worldly coming from Streisand's throat. I compare it to singing in 3D, while everyone else is in 2D. She's so very special. Definitely agree with several other posters, Barbra's duet with Donna Summer, "No More Tears (Enough Is Enough)" [long version] is a drf must!
Celine Dion is one of (FEW) of my favorite female vocalists - and so is Barbara Streisand. I had a personal confrontation with Barbara Streisand...when I was doing treework in Greenwich, CT. Can't say it was pleasant. But I still respect the intensity of her voice. I once told a co-worker that I thought Celine Dion was the next Barbara Streisand - he laughed at me. But this collaboration shows that I was exactly right. People have criticized my musical taste all my life, but I will stand for it! John Denver, America, GLADYS KNIGHT...screw you all _ I'll stand by it until I die!
Of course Celine Dion's voice is so beautiful and she is an amazing singer, but truly, Barbara Streisand is an icon NEVER to be surpassed. I listened to her albums when I was young and I've never heard anyone who can make the chills on my arms like Barbara Streisand and I'm 64. As you said, it's hard to compare and even harder to quantify. But Barbara is just something in a different stratosphere than any other female singer I've ever heard.
As a fan of both..I never felt this was as good as it could have been..the song itself is not good enough. Have to disagree with that "greatest female duet ever". imo this doesn't beat .... Natalie Dessay & Cecilia Bartoli - Duetto
@@reddragonready you can lmo if you like, im basing it off what i have heard, those artist you have mentioned i dont know, or have i ever heard, or from what era, so i think it was disrepectful to lmo, i come from the 70's80;s and 90's era, after that, i lost track of music, it was not the same to me,
Baba is in her 80s. Here she was probably in her 50s. If you want some Barbra grit then listen to her re release CRY ME A RIVER live at the Bon Soir Greenwich Village. 1962. She was young and relatively unknown. They didn't know what was about to happen.
You should check out classic Barbra Streisand, Barbara singing with Judy Garland Or Barbra Streisand and Barry Gibb of the Bee Gees together they sing really good together Also try Barbara singing with Bryan Adams & try Barbra singing the song Superman from her early 80s album of the same name, one of my favorite songs of hers.

I think Barbra and Celine both know they are two of the most amazing voices ever so there is no insecurity. They both seem to appreciate each other. ❤️
You'll close the loop when you hear the duet of a young Barbra Streisand with an older Judy Garland. Somehow it feels like passing the torch between legends. Men's sense of power is power over but for women it's power with. ❤
Barbra was 54 when this was released. If they were singing about their significant others at the time (1997) Celine was married to Rene Angelil (the oldest liiving Canadian*) and Barbra was singing about James Brolin (married in 1998**). * From an SNL skit (actually skits) referencing the difference in their ages. ** This makes her Thanos' step-mother. Josh Brolin (also Cable in Deadpool) is James' son from his first marriage.
Okay.. okay.. this is so awesome! Glad you got to this one. Now pleassssssssssssefor the next reaction you have to do Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli - The Prayer live from his channel .. that has 213 million views. Just like in this video she is working with the renowned Canadian music producer David Foster!!!! It's mind blowing!!! Then for more thrills.. check out the duet she did with Neyo.. called Incredible. Please do a double reaction with this one. Start with the making of... the behind the scenes vid.. then watch the actual video. I just think you will truly appreciate just how wonderful and fun Celine is.. and it's amazing to see how Neyo is experiencing producing Celine! It's beyond cute! It's just so wonderful and inspiring song. Oh and then do all of the other hits of Celine's from over the years.. and duets.. of which there are many!!!! lol I know I am asking for a lot.. but I am subscribed.. and I click like on EVERY single reaction that I watch. 😁☺🙃😉😂 Cheers and positive vibes from Ontario, Canada 🍁
They are the Superstar powerful vocalists of their Generations Barbara came first and then Saline they're both marvelous the range on vocal power is so amazing to be astonishing.
My favorite Barbra Streisand movie is her version of A Star is Born. Listen to that soundtrack! Evergreen/ Are you Watching me now! Barbra is 83ish. We saw more Barbra because she has an EGOT! that's Emmy,Grammy, Oscar , Tony.
Another content creator reacted to Barbra Streisand's "Honey, Can I Put on Your Clothes?" (1978) and he said that this song should have been played on black radio back in the day. To be honest, I don't know if it was played on any radio station back in the day, but I'd love to hear your thoughts on the song. It is Streisand at her sensual, soulful best.
I have been waiting for this reaction and enjoyed it thoroughly. The song is structured to be a conversation between an older more experienced woman and a younger woman looking for advice. Barbra was a huge icon for Celine and she was thrilled that she was able to collaborate with her idol. You may also be interested to know that Barbra did a some albums of nothing but duets with all kinds of artists such as Billy Joel, Michael Bublé, Tony Bennett, Josh Groban, Barry Gibb, Babyface, Bryan Adams, Andrea Bocelli, Donna Summer, Jamie Foxx, Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, Hugh Jackman, John Mayer, John Legend, and Lionel Richie. TH-cam has a bunch of those “making of” videos for some of those duets. Fascinating to watch the process. Barbra has said that she often has a hard time getting female singers to collaborate with her. I think it’s for obvious reasons. No other female singer can compare and they know it. Every major female artist has always cited Barbra as a source of inspiration for them, including Beyoncé. Beyoncé sang at Barbra’s Kennedy Center Honors year and was nervous. Barbra has more success getting male collaborators . With 36 studio albums under her belt and countless awards across entertainment and humanitarian efforts, you are dealing with one badass woman. I love that you love the woman I have adored since the 1960s. ❤ Great reaction.
This duet is incredible! Barbra did many duets. You will be blown away by the one with Donna Summers! As others have said, be sure to get the extended version - it just takes off!!
Barbara Streisand and Celine Dion, Wow! I think they could sing the alphabet and make it amazing. Barbara is a year younger than my Mom and I'm 61. So, I literally grew up listening to her music and watchibg her movies. She is hilarious! Wikipedia says "With a career spanning over six decades, she has achieved success across multiple fields of entertainment, being among the first performers awarded an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony (EGOT)." She has won awards well over 100. You would probably enjoy her movies with your whole family.(except A Star is born" and "Yentel.both excellent, but not family movies)." Obviously, I'm a huge fan! Great Review! ❤Love you man❤
Some have said that this was a screaming competition by 2 of the greatest divas of all time while others have said that this was probably the best collaboration between The 2 greatest divas of their time. I just loved this collaboration and wish they can come together again soon.
So we’re really not gonna talk about the level of sexy when Barbra put her glasses on? 😂 I love this! Brings back great memories of watching this with my momma… rip
To answer your question - Celine was 29 and Barbra 55 when they collaborated on this song. I cannot count on one hand the number of duets Barbra has had with other famous singers. Donna Summer, Neil Diamond, Barry Gibb, Bryan Adams and Ray Charles to name a few.
What you just witnessed was two powerhouse women with unbelievable talent complimenting each others abilities. Barbra is married to James Brolin since 1998.
Barbra is married to James Brolin. Look him up, he's famous actor, they have been married for over 25 years. Her first husband was Elliott Gould, also a famous actor best known for the role in the MASH. They have one son together, Jason!
Barbra Streisand is gorgeous in my opinion. She's married to actor James Brolin and he's pretty easy on the eyes, too. I would recommend Bryan Adams and Barbra Streisand singing "I Finally Found Someone." It's from the movie The Mirror Has Two Faces, which Barbra stars in. I would also recommend Vince Gill and Barbra singing "If You Ever Leave Me." I promise you will be blown away by both of those duets. And hey, watch the movie I mentioned too. It's so good.
They're not competing, they're supporting each other. Barbara is playing the role of the older more confident woman and she is giving wise advice to the younger and less sure woman played by Celine.
There was such obvious respect and adoration obviously in Celine’s face for Barbara. It looks like they had the best time, please do react to the duet with Celine and Pavarotti, it’s fantastic!
Both Celine & Barbra to me were the best ever, what a song!! Barbra is married to James Brolin from 1998 to now. Just adore this particular song,, brilliant 💝💝💝💝
All I know is... both of these women are amazing singers... and their voices match so well together its truly an extraordinary event having these 2 do a duet together.
They're not competing, they're complimenting each other. Their voices work so well with each other. I wish they had done more together.
Absolutely not a competition🤣
Yes! I just wrote a similar response, and then I saw your comment....
Exactly what I was thinking ..... Why compete when together they are perfection. This song needs two singers..
There are times when I can't differentiate them. They blend so perfectly, a really terrific performance and recording. One of Barbra's best duets for sure.
Celine was a huge Barbra fan.. they compliment each other beautifully
Was? Both are still very much with us, though Céline is no longer singing...
Celine did the talk show circuit after this. Among other things, she said that when Barbra called her to talk about this, she was all tongue-tied because her idol had called. Barbra said she knew exactly how she felt, because she felt that way when she sang with Judy Garland.
It was supposed to be an older lady advising a younger one. They are the two greatest singers of all time.
This title was released in 1997. Barbara was 55 at the time, Celine 31. In case you didn't know, Barbara is a singer, actor, director, producer, songwriter ....

Barbra Streisand and Neil Diamond - You Don't Bring Me Flowers, Barbara Streisand and Barry Gibb - Guilty, Barbra Streisand, Donna Summer- No More Tears
YES... ALL of these!!!! 🤩
Thank you 😊 I've never heard this song before. Just beautiful.
Yes.Celine and Pavarotti. Prepare to be stunned! Know matter how high your expectations, they WILL be exceeded.
Barbra is married to James Brolin. They have a blended family including James's son Josh. So essentially she's Thanos' step mother. Lol. IF you watched The Amityville Horror (1979) James plays George Lutz.

My fav "Star is Born".
I love Barbra Streisand in the movies, "The Way We Were" and "Yentl".
Celine can whisper a song. Barbra can hum a song. They both are truly freaks of nature. Raw talent hard working artist. Plain and simple.
More Barbara Streisand🎉
For many years…there was no female vocalist that could even compare to Barbra. Celine Dion changes that. Celine idolized Barbra. Their duet was pure perfection! No one could duplicate this!

Celine sung with her idol here! Amazing😊

Barbara Streisand is a beast! She's an incredible singer!!
I just looed it up and the older lady was *55* years old when she recorded this! That voice at that age! Remarkable.
Thank u so much for playing this, 1 of the most beautiful songs ever written pure emotion in their voices, 2 powerhouses together. ❤❤❤
A reaction to her live performance of All By Myself or The Power Of Love will only further blow you away. Her voice is like no other!

Celine said she idolized two women-personally it was her mother. Professionally she adores Barbra Streisand.
They both have beautiful voices. What makes Barbra's voice sound better to me, is her tone & smooth and lovely sound.
Divine BARBRA!
I love this song they did. Celine was always my favorite Canadian singer and Barbara Streisand is a legend too ❤
"I Hate You, I Love You" IS WORTH IT!!! My dad and I like to sing it together lol

Two iconic voices. Streisand did many musicals- on Broadway and in movies.
2 most angelic voices on earth imo
Josh Brolin (not Jason) is the son of James Brolin & Jane Agee & is 56 y.o.
@@Rkbmomma His name is Jason Gould
@@Rkbmomma I said Barbra and Elliott Gould have one son Jason. I know that Josh is James Brolins son.
Barbra really had it here, her voice is something you never forget and always recognize, she was and still is the greatest......
They look like they're having so much fun!
I love your reaction here 😂😂
I grew up listening to Barbra Streisand and all these decades later she is still in a class of her own. ❤❤❤❤❤
Two legends right here. ❤
nice one, loved you reaction when Brabra started to open her mouth. soulful voice indeed ❤
Thank you for reacting to my suggestion. Please consider Barbra and Donna Sumers duet Enough is Enough. God bless🙏🏼❤️
Two legends. One of the best female duets ever!
As usual, chills, goosebumps. Love these two so much. So talented !
Two great vocalists who are magical.
I don’t know how many times I have watched this over the last few years. I just love the song and the dynamics between them both 😊
You will love - "Barbra Streisand & Barry Gibb - Guilty" ... its timeless !!!
They're not competing, they're supporting each other. Barbara is playing the role of the older more confident woman and she is giving wise advice to the younger and less sure woman played by Celine.
Streisand and Donna Summer slayed a disco banger back in the day. No More Tears (enough is enough)
one of the most beautiful duets EVER!
There was such obvious respect and adoration obviously in Celine’s face for Barbara. It looks like they had the best time, please do react to the duet with Celine and Pavarotti, it’s fantastic!
Barbara was a huge inspiration because Celines mother loved Barbara so Celine heard her very young! ❤🇨🇦
They both have great voices they are collaborating
Good morning, from Vancouver BC 🇨🇦 I love Céline and Barbara ' ❤ both my favorites'
This is, by far, the BEST reaction I’ve seen to this song/video. I’m glad someone else gets it. :)
Celine was seriously fan girling when she did this Barbara was her hero
Disco Classic!
Barbara and Donna Summer - Enough is Enough
😊 Barbara held back.......she has song with Donna Summer too
Another legendary song-"Sunday Morning Coming Down" by Kris Kristofferson. You'll feel it!!!!
Thank you for the extra support. Appreciate you
Both Celine & Barbra to me were the best ever, what a song!! Barbra is married to James Brolin from 1998 to now. Just adore this particular song,, brilliant 💝💝💝💝
Barbara and Louis Armstrong...Hello Dolly. Both the movie and song are amazing!
All I know is... both of these women are amazing singers... and their voices match so well together its truly an extraordinary event having these 2 do a duet together.
You need to check out the extended version of Enough Is Enough a collab with Barbra and Donna Summer, it`s 11 minutes of genius
Barbra and Celine a great singing combination.." Tell Him" a powerful performance by two of the best... Thank you.
