- It's Time! We finally take our Clydesdale filly, Nattie down to the river for a swim! She takes to it like a duck to water lol. She is incredibly sweet and loving and absolutely loves the attention from everyone. Her favorite part ends up being when Jr tries to pick her up! She LOVES IT!

We use swimming for various reasons here on the homestead. #1 is PURE EJOYMENT! #2 is training. But there are also some big health benefits to swimming. Swimming also gives a horse a highly effective full body workout; improving general fitness, joint flexion and respiration. Depending on water level, the buoyancy of the water reduces concussion and impact on the lower limbs, and encourages an increased range of motion. It is also very helpful if we ever need water therapy for any of the horses.

Oliver is a daddy’s boy and Nattie is a daddy’s girl. I have a feeling they are going to make some really sweet tempered babies. Also can’t wait to see Sioux’ baby. I’m sure it will be very sweet too.

If you've watched her story at all you can tell she has gained a significant amount of weight. She looks so good now. Was amazing to see her just relax in the water fighting off sleep. What a great first swim!.

The easiest way to know how well cared for a horse is, is to watch them try something new. She clearly knows how much you love her and trusts you to keep her safe.
I’ve never imagined a horse who wanted to be carried! What trust! A truly beautiful nature runs through Clydesdales and Oliver and Nattie are the best examples of gentle souls. Lovely time at the river with all of you!

While your hearts are tied to the MFT breed, I love how captivated you are with your new passion for the clydesdale horse. Nattie & Oliver are great additions to your homestead. There is a reason why a team of drafts gets the crowd excited at parades, rodeos, fairs, etc. Size, feathers, and distinct color patterns sure do draw attention.
