“Because they saved me from myself, they rescued me from my loneliness. They were the first to accept me for who I am. They’re my friends.” - Naruto Uzumaki
Seriously, how lucky one needs to be to find some one(s) that accept them as they are, and saves them from themselves…I totally understand why Naruto would rather give his own life to protect that.
This is easily in your top 10 piano arrangements. The variety of piano techniques (tremolos, rapid octaves and arpeggios etc.), attention to detail and tonal control, and storytelling artistry displayed in this arrangement cannot be overstated.
Thank you! I also think this is one of my best "special type" arrangements I have done in a while. Initially, I was a little bit reluctant to do a piano fantasy like this, since I heavily modify the original song (and some people might disagree with all the changes). But still, I really wanted to tell the story of Naruto on the piano and instead of arranging a Naruto Soundtrack Medley, I used only the melody of "Sadness and Sorrow" as a starting point for this 8 minute piano fantasy. I think this is simply the power of Nostalgia, haha
One of the most iconic and nostalgic anime pieces that I've watched. Seeing how Naruto went through sadness and sorrow, not allowing it to drag him down, but instead, choosing to prove to the world that hard work makes the dream work. That your birth doesn't determine your fate. I can still remember the episode where the third hokage funeral happened and when Naruto asked why good people have to die as the ost plays. So many philosophical questions of the show that can still baffer you to this day. Thanks for rekindling that ever so small memory back.
I really wish there would be a remake anime TV series of Naruto in the future, condensed into 200 episodes without any filler. The nostalgia would be insane.
@@Animenzzz feel like naruto would have been so much better if mappa or mad house produce it :( I read the manga first then I watch the anime.... beside the OST, I was quite disappointed of how they adapt the show :(
"Birth doesn't determine your faith" Neji used to think the opposite, in his battle with Naruto, and for most of the first series, it really seemed like he was wrong, but with Shippuden, they changed that entirely. Naruto, of all people, should not have been destined for greatness. The original series depicted him as the quintessential loser who surpasses birth-set limitations through sheer willpower. This aspect of his character should have remained consistent, but, sadly, it didn’t. It turned out that, after all we’d seen, he was actually born with favorable genes, hailed from an elite clan, and was chosen by fate (incarnation of Ashura).
Naruto taught me more than school, more than university and said things that cannot be expressed in words and things that cannot be kept silent. Every ost in Naruto is a masterpiece, because the soul was invested in them. Therefore, they are able to cause strong emotions.Thank you, Animenz, for bringing me back to my childhood...
What a masterpiece. 0:28 and 0:44 beautiful sixth, the resonances of the middle notes (G, B) are absolutely impressive. 0:59 that left hand transition scale is so expressive, such a smooth introduction to the chorus. 1:00 This is my favorite section of this arrangement. To be honest, I’m not a big fan of trill in general, but this one is just remarkable. Your dynamic control makes me speechless, each layer is clean and not interrupting each other: The bass line, the flowing middle trill, and the top bright melody line. You can see that at 1:00 and 1:15 Animenz switch the finger on ‘A’ without letting the note drop. I really appreciate this type of detail, it shows that Animenz treats each note with extra cares. 2:32 the first time I heard it was like ‘Wow, that’s very Japanese’ 2:52 I like that pedaling, if you watch carefully, you can see the damper, there is no pedal for F#, E at 2:52, Animenz use the pedal until the B note, similar for 2:59. And I also like the little pedal change at 3:10 and 3:12. 3:20 and the following section, Animenz use pedal to create a non-legal sound effect. The disconnected melody line can always refresh the audiences’ ears and serve as a special seasoning to the music. 4:03 that A# is ELEGANT 4:38 I like the fingering you use, it fits the flow of the music so well. 4:41 this section features a melody that’s half beat prior to the bass line, I really like that singing tone at 4:54 and 4:57 5:19 I like how you emphasis each of the top notes in the left hand for the entire section, very nice shaping. 5:37 my interpretation of that ‘echo’ on the lower octave is that it’s the legacy Jiraya passed on to Naruto, who is following his teacher’s steps, but in his own way. 5:56 that looping melody somehow gives me Ashes on Fire vibe, especially the octave at 6:10 , haha. 6:25 This section is very energetic, you can find that there are triplets at 6:28 in middle section, then the triplets are moved to the left hand bass at 6:40, the constant triplets sustain the tension through the entire battle. This reminds me that in Schubert’s Erlkönig, there are ostinato triplets to imitate the clattering sound and keep the whole piece in tension. 6:32 I love that extra middle voice 6:45 that run is almost the same to Guren no Yumiya’s ending run. 6:53 start from this point, the left hand rhythm is insanely addicting: my favorite one will be at 6:55 with little pedal cut. 7:01 that fast double G octave is SO SATISFYING. This arrangement is definitely my top3 (or maybe No.1) of your 2022 arrangement to date. I was too busy to write a comment, but I feel like I have to, to show my respect to your hard work, I hope it’s not to late, Thank you Animenz !

In all 9 years I’ve watched your channel, it’s an absolute delight to how you expanded your technical ability and weave it into musical story telling. You are an absolute wonder to my life and to many others, a man I wouldn’t hesitate to call my Hokage.
A tad late to this one, but I wanted to take the time to give it a proper comment. I, like many others, grew up with Naruto, and can in many ways relate to his story, and this piece really captures the emotion of the struggles that he went through. Each of the unique chapters of this piece truly come together into a fantasical story, glimmering with poignance at the softest bits and shining with deep emotion at the energetic climax. As we move along this story, we hit key moments that really deserve some attention: 1:00 - The tremolo really reminisces the traditional Shamisen sound and feel that comes with the original melody 1:32 - Flowing freely like the wind, the trilled jazzy melody runs its course 2:32 - The transition reminds me of ringing bells of the village, ushering in the next section 2:39 - The rhythm and chords here give slight shades of Weight of the World 4:05 - Closing my eyes to this original melody, I see imagery of cherry blossoms floating through the wind, much like Hinata's sustained love for Naruto 5:19 - An undulating heartbeat resonates through the sustained rhythmic middle harmony, carrying with it Jiraya's spirit into the hearts he has entrusted his legacy to 5:55 - Shades of Bios come out in this transitional pre-chorus section 6:27 - Shades of unlasting's final climactic chorus are felt in this final chorus 7:07 - A sustained low G rings out, carrying with it the weight of the final blows What a work of art and a worthy tribute to the masterpiece that is Naurto
I finally just remembered where that pattern 5:55 actually comes from! Looks like I was subconsciously playing the melody from "Ashes on the fire", they are both very similar, haha.

This anime had some of the deepest character development backed by a sense of nostalgia. Also, the song reminds me of how Naruto has always been lonely and what he's been through. A reason as to why this is a beautiful anime with a soundtrack that fits perfectly.
When Animenz went into radio silence for 3 weeks, my hypotheses were: A. He was having sooooooo much fun in Dubai that he barely had time to play piano; B. He was tooooooo busy prepping for his upcoming 2 mil subscriber LiveStream. Yet he caught me by surprise with this sudden upload. And there was so much emotion in this piece that, all the past Naruto memories came haunting me now. Ok, so seems the truth is: Z. He became a Piano Ninja by practicing in Konohagakure. Both A and B is partially true though ;) I already started preparing my 2M subscriber special piano medley - this is going to be my most ambitious video on my TH-cam channel. (waiting for your comment, when you are sober enough, haha)
Instead of making Sad version, Exciting version, Tragic version, etc. like other pianists, Animenz literally merge all of them in one single video with smooth transitions. Perfect.
What a surprise✨ When I saw Animenz perform this OST in Dubai before, I really hope that one day《 Sorrow and Sorrow》will be recorded and uploaded. Now my dream has come true! If 《Blue Bird》is the red of the unrestrained flame, and《Sorrow and Sorrow》 is the dark blue at the center of the burning flame, it is the base color of the "Naruto" story. In addition to exciting adventures, "Naruto" is actually a story with a lot of heartbreak. The live performance at the time was amazing, as Animenz's adaptation of this traditional Japanese music style was rarely heard. The poignant and moving sound of the piano is like hearing the samisen (三味線)describing the loneliness in Naruto's heart and bringing back memories of those who died in the story .... The whole performance seemed to be in a dark blue vortex. I was lost in the piano sound of Animenz and it touched my heart deeply. Today's video is an expanded 8 minute version and I'm ready to fall into the vortex again~
This is definitely one of your best arrangements. There is so much *amazing* technique, dynamic, and /emotion/. Brings back all that nostalgia. Great attention to detail!
I performed quite badly at my recent chess competition(which is still occurring until Friday). Thanks, Animenz for making me forget all my frustrations with this wonderful and emotional song. It really heals my soul.
Hi! I don't know if you're going to read this but I'll just write it. 5 or 6 years ago me and my friend decided to have a couple days fishing trip in the mountains hours away from home (we used to fish when younger but never seriously). We picked around 20 of our favorite anime ost and op's among which there were multiple piano covers of yours, and put them in a couple cd's so they would work offline where internet wouldn't catch up in the mountains. And you literally made the soundtracks for one of the best adventures of our life (after which we actually created the channel with which i'm writing this comment, to just try to spread the joy we felt on that and on the following fishing adventures). And the best thing is that after many years we're going to go back there in a few weeks and you literally just re-released hyori ittai and sadness and sorrow that were just symbolic for parts of the adventure in relationship to a couple things that happened. We also used your covers as background music where they fitted for many of our videos too given you allow to do so. How crazy is that? You tell me! Just wanted to leave this here and say thank you for your music and for contributing to make our adventures special. These 2 new covers i mentioned are most definitely gonna end up in our new cd for this new adventure in the mountains. THANK YOU!
This thrills me each and every time I listen to it. This is such a beautiful piece of art that I've got no choice but to play it very, very loud. My neighbours don't appreciate the 'noise'... But that ain't my problem ;) This is all but noise. This is an ode to love and courage, condensed in eight minutes... Thanks!!!!
The precision and the way he makes the piano sound like it was made for the piece is amazing. It felt like each note was giving off the essence of the ost.✨🎊
Honestly this is so amazing. I've watched Naruto many years ago and I feel like this arrangement kind of reshaped my emotions and memories associated with this OST. I don't think I've ever experienced something like that.
No way…. I love how your coming back into your old arrangements and applying your newer techniques and skills to overall make these arrangements stunning and very emotional and sounds very lovely to the ears (especially the jazz sounds in my opinion I’ve been a big fan of them from once you learned about them). You inspire me so much and I can’t imagine how much more ppl you truly do inspire. Thanks :p btw this is the one of the best arrangements in my opinion hands down with just the pure technique, with timing and idk what to even call them yet. But it sounds amazing
That Konohagakure version is stunning. Similarities to original but in a complete different mood somehow for me.. and actually better. Impressive play. It's fun watching those hands work.
Finally You made it ❤️ Hope one day you can make more arrangement of simple OSTs like watashi no uso or again from shigatsu wa kimi no uso , to see more about your ability to create new lines in simple songs You are for sure a trully inspiration

Reading your descriptions shows how much effort, time and thoughts you put into your arrangements. Your far away from just arranging a song simply to have your own version of it/them!! In the ninja world, those who break the rules are scum, but those who do not love Animenz's Sadness and Sorrow (FINAL BATTLE ver.) - Naruto OST are worse than scum
You truly did a great job to reflect Naruto's whole journey on the emotional level. I especially liked Jiraya's Legacy part because it is not something I'd expect; it is not a roundabout sad part but the start of something anew and a story of maturity and overcoming grim feelings. Cheers to the composer and you for bringing life to the performance!
Although this song it's that new, this ver. still make me feel its a new song. I can see the pictures that ppl who love each other but have to fight. Thank you Animenz bring us this wonderful cover again.
Wow! You did it again Animenz! A very rich arrangement and I can imagine the story you are trying to tell from your performance. Also I really love that Japanese Koto style tremolos, it really sets up the nostalgic mood. Thank you for playing!
This piece is my favorite animenz piece because even though there is so many things going on at the same time everything fits perfectly together, brings nostalgia and is an rollercouster of emotion

I loved this arrangement, everything, the low notes and that support that you give the melody with it. I'm going to be honest I don't really watch Anime but your arrangements even make me want to get into it. I've been listening to you since you did your original Zelda A Link To the Past Ending themes on Piano, I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT, my uncle showed me the games he'd play when he was my age and he showed me a bunch of them (Including Zelda) Though he also showed me one that caught my attention the most because he mentioned the OST on that game was GOD TIER, the game he was talking about was Castlevania II: Simon's Quest. The song that stood the most out of every song in that game was Bloody Tears, I found it in TH-cam because I wanted to listen to it in a Piano Version but the one that is really complete and the one that I most enjoyed was (unfortunately) a video of the song made in Synthesia, It is really complete but after listening to your arrangements my brain crashed when I thought of you Animenz playing Bloody Tears Synthesia Edition but with that ANIMENZ touch that you put into your arrangements. I really hope you get to read this or even consider playing Bloody Tears for me and my Uncle. We love your work and we wish you the best of luck in future projects. ^^
Sadness and Sorrow is one of my go to sad melodies to listen to. I love this! Also fun fact: I noticed that this piece has the perfect length for cooking noodles with 8min cooking time. XD It was very helpful the other day.
I have nothing but praise for your insane talent. You are the alpha and omega of anime pianists in TH-cam, it is stunning to see how insane your composing skills have gotten
Absolutely in love with this arrangement!!! It's my go-to song for when I need some time for myself and I always wanted to have a proper version of it for piano to maybe play it myself one day. And now the legend himself made one! Can't wait for the sheet music...
The build in this is amazing. I'm always amazed how your left hand voicings gives so much color to your arrangements. The texture of the right hand tremolos were also very well done. You brought out so much emotion in this arrangement and performance.
man the extra voicing from the tremolos in the the left hand go crazy and the rhythm along with the funky chords in the honohagakure part was a nice edition as well
MANN 6:03 and onwards is just GOD TIERRR and that crescendo on 7:00 🥲 and of course all those different patterns are just amazing. Thank you for a fantastic arrangement :)
I love every bit of this song but konohagakure hits different! Its amazing how you're able to arrange out so many variations and vibes out of this one simple melody line. Thanks for the nostalgia trip.
Is amazing how all is precisely calulated, I really love the effort that you have put here, reading the desription was as good as listen to the composition. Congrats!
I love all of your song and really, i pray for hear you in Europe a day... @@Rui.Pandromeda me too >.
The OST makes me want to finally dive into Naruto.
The emotions i felt through the piece cannot be put into words. Music does speak oceans!
Good luck on friday!
is there anyway i can play with u online?!
Hearing the arrangement while reading the description is always the best part with Animenz, mans is literally narrating a story with the piano
THANK YOU!
Thank you for sharing your story with me!
But it sounds amazing
ah yess that nostalgic feeling brought back to me by this man, no doubt this is one of the best covers of Naruto's themes
This arrangement is amazing and I love how the “Final Battle with Sasuke” gives the vibe as your Ashes on the Fire arrangement
That Konohagakure version is stunning. Similarities to original but in a complete different mood somehow for me.. and actually better. Impressive play. It's fun watching those hands work.
Finally You made it ❤️
Hope one day you can make more arrangement of simple OSTs like watashi no uso or again from shigatsu wa kimi no uso , to see more about your ability to create new lines in simple songs
You are for sure a trully inspiration
I definitely enjoy arranging anime OST's the most, since I can fully utilize my "orchestra style" on the piano :D
@@Animenzzz I thought you would never do an arrangement of this song because it's a little old and very simple , I became real happy that you made it , I love how you can make simple songs becoming orchestral and super hard
ありがとございます animenz せんぱい
@@Animenzzz “ 7 Orange “ shigatsu wa kimi no uso 🙏
*無論旋律和歌詞都非常美 , 唱的太好听了* 。歌词太有意思了,这个思念真的好感动啊。加上動人心魄的歌聲 , 循環了不知多少次 。加上背景制作精美 , 真的是視聽一流享受!👍
We finally get to hear one of the most melancholic anime songs performed by the anime musical master. Sensational performance Sensei 🎹✨
the lighting in this video shining on the middle part of the piano is just so fitting!
This is such a beautiful rendition of (in my opinion) an overplayed song. It gives this OST new character and life. This was an amazing arrangement to listen to and I'll be listening to it for a while. Keep doing what your doing, we're all here for/with you Animenz!
Reading your descriptions shows how much effort, time and thoughts you put into your arrangements. Your far away from just arranging a song simply to have your own version of it/them!!
I hope you stay healthy and strong to be able to do what seems to be your main passion. I guess me and most of your fans would agree when I say that we can´t imagine living in a world without your wonderfull music. Instead of only destroying like modern humans tend to do your creating something beautifull and spread your love for and through music!! Thank you so much!!!!🙂🖤👍
The Final Battle edition of Sadness of Sorrow has always been my fav version of it.
This song makes me feel many feelings and memories. A beautiful arrangement, Animenz never disappoints. Naruto, an anime that has given me life.
2:39 hits different ✨thank you for sharing this masterpiece 😁
Bro I haven’t cried in a while feels good to have some sort of emotional release Thanks Animenz
This just literally made me tear up. A master piece through and through.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for continuing to be as impressive and inspiring as you are.
😭😭😭really tho, this video has made me cry two times already…can’t describe the feelings with words…it’s just ahhhhh TT
your words cut deep, deeper than any blade.
Ohhh my god those pace variations in between literally showed your class, another masterpiece video
Thank you Animenz! Your music helped me so often in the deepest parts of my life. I feel your passion and dedication to Animes. You are a true man of culture! Please keep up your excellent work! You are god‘s blessing on our wonderful work!
This is one of those pieces, that make you feel glad you were ever born.
There are no words to describe the emotions I had while listening, thank you for the additional story that enhanced the meaning and beauty even more. Thanks for this wonderful work ❤️
This arrangement was so stunning and beautiful. One of my fav OST, and you brought a tear of nostalgia to my eye. Thanks Animenz.
This fondly remembers the my precious time
In the ninja world, those who break the rules are scum, but those who do not love Animenz's Sadness and Sorrow (FINAL BATTLE ver.) - Naruto OST are worse than scum
bro this is so underrated 😭
Everytime when I hear this song, I always recall Haku and Zabuza 🥺
You truly did a great job to reflect Naruto's whole journey on the emotional level. I especially liked Jiraya's Legacy part because it is not something I'd expect; it is not a roundabout sad part but the start of something anew and a story of maturity and overcoming grim feelings. Cheers to the composer and you for bringing life to the performance!
Although this song it's that new, this ver. still make me feel its a new song.
I can see the pictures that ppl who love each other but have to fight.
Thank you Animenz bring us this wonderful cover again.
By far the best rendition of this medley I've ever heard, damned well done man.
These nostalgic pieces always hit different
Can't wait for your 2 mil special
Sadness and Sorrow was already an incredibly moving piece, and you somehow found a way to kick it up to an off the chart level. 👏👏👏
This is by far the best ever piano arrangement I have ever heard. This gave me tears because of its beauty... Thank you Animenz. ❤❤❤
Wow! You did it again Animenz! A very rich arrangement and I can imagine the story you are trying to tell from your performance. Also I really love that Japanese Koto style tremolos, it really sets up the nostalgic mood. Thank you for playing!
Different layers of Sadness and Sorrow, it is just beautiful!
This piece is my favorite animenz piece because even though there is so many things going on at the same time everything fits perfectly together, brings nostalgia and is an rollercouster of emotion
the way this makes you feel like you've watched every single episode all in under 8 minutes is just insane to me
I worship Taylor Davis's violin version of this and now I have another one for worshipping ... thank u animenz !! Here Sri lanka ,we have big crisis now bcz of stupid politicians ... so these mind blowing masterpieces really help me to bit relax ... thank u again !Naruto is one of emotional anime all the time ! Really proud to find u 7 years ago on utube ! U are the best !
This is definetley my favorite piece you've ever arranged. Amazing work
OMG this is incredible you are a genius this arrangement is just insane
Holy god… this is one of the best compositions I’ve come across… it hits soo hard and is soo nostalgic… I want to thank you for this animenz
I have nothing but praise for your insane talent. You are the alpha and omega of anime pianists in TH-cam, it is stunning to see how insane your composing skills have gotten
can't watch this without crying. so beautiful
Such a wonderful journey through a masterpiece. Congratulations
Absolutely in love with this arrangement!!! It's my go-to song for when I need some time for myself and I always wanted to have a proper version of it for piano to maybe play it myself one day. And now the legend himself made one! Can't wait for the sheet music...
Every part is so different and incredible, but the key change and the shamisen impression are what i love about this piece. So smooth 😩
I'm flooding my room with tears right now. Thank you so much.
The chills you get from hearing this song after having grown up with Naruto & realising how far he's come from from his early days.
The build in this is amazing. I'm always amazed how your left hand voicings gives so much color to your arrangements. The texture of the right hand tremolos were also very well done. You brought out so much emotion in this arrangement and performance.
Musical perfection!
Insanely good. Loved every second
Ngl this is the best piano arrangement of sadness and sorrow... It- it just hits different bro..
You really brought justice to this and showed me a whole another world. Absolutely loved the usages of tremolos. Thank you!!
The fuck did i just listen to, it was so beautiful. The rythm, the arrangement, everything was on point.
More I listen to this, more I realize your arrangement is truly out of this world
man the extra voicing from the tremolos in the the left hand go crazy and the rhythm along with the funky chords in the honohagakure part was a nice edition as well
One of the emotional pieces I love the most, and Animenz made it best.
build up to climax and the climax was perfect and wonderful!
MANN 6:03 and onwards is just GOD TIERRR
and that crescendo on 7:00 🥲
and of course all those different patterns are just amazing.
Thank you for a fantastic arrangement :)
Fully agree I play piano and I was dumbfounded when I saw him play like that
Listening to this emotional piece made me tear up, it really resonated within me. This is a masterpiece. Thank you as always Animenz.
What can i say..truly masterpiece indeed.
To be honest, this is just ridiculously good
My piano teacher said you can easily compare this arrangement with piano concerts from rachmaninov
Yay, another Animenz arrangement!
I love every bit of this song but konohagakure hits different! Its amazing how you're able to arrange out so many variations and vibes out of this one simple melody line. Thanks for the nostalgia trip.
I wait sooo long for this moment.
It’s time to see a iconic Naruto piano Arrangement
Thank you very much my friend ♥️
Pls more in the future ☀️
Animenz is the masterpiece.....
This is a masterpiece. What a beautiful arrangement.
That ending woah! Building the perfect climax as always. Thanks!
This might be one of the best things I have ever had the privilege to hear or see
Is amazing how all is precisely calulated, I really love the effort that you have put here, reading the desription was as good as listen to the composition. Congrats!
I love all of your song and really, i pray for hear you in Europe a day...
Your expression / transcription is for me the best and the most emotionnal.
you're not just replaying the song, you replay the music, the text and what it means and finally the atmosphere, those for which the piece was written.
My best pianist ever
