Spent the morning looking at Rode Wireless reviews. This is BY FAR the best Rode Wireless Go II review. So informative and covers all bases in an easy to understand way. Thank you!!
You saved my life! I just started using mic 2 and for some reason, it wasn’t recording in my phone. The audio levels were moving on mic 1 and on mic 2 but mic 1 wasn’t recording!! It was the wire!!! I had the red wire plugged into the receiver rather than the black one. I saw your video about the wires, switched them out and now I’m back in business. Thank you!!! Stephen Parkland, FL
Thank you , glad I found your channel, I just bought the Rode II and could not get it to work, till I saw your video I need to go buy those cables and hope this solves my problem 😮
Thanks for the information. Just received my Wireless Go II and followed you along to learn how to use them and the app. We are New TH-camrs and trying to make our audio better.
I used my iPad cord, it's not the same cable as my iPhone, with the mic 2 receiver and it worked like a charm! Thanks!!! Next up trying my iPhone cord with the mic 2 receiver.
thanks! I can now confirm that my SC21 cable is not compatible with my iphone Pro Max 13 for some reason. It still says iPhone Microphone on the capture app, as well as rode central. Returning that cable! Maybe I'll do the SC15.
Thank you, this was very helpful. I have a real noob question… do the receivers also clip on clothing with the windshields ? What would be the better way to get sound when filming yourself keeping the receivers on the camera? I need help 😅 Subscribed :)
how do you sure it's the audio from receiver not from phone's mic? i tested it, and it's not working... it recorded audio from phone's mic, not from receiver i mean when you record video using iphone's camera app
I agree. Whenever I test it the sound is the same. I have no idea if the mic is working. It looks like it's working according to the receiver, but the sound quality doesn't change.
Can you just use one of the two mics and what would the resulting audio track be? A mono channel? A virtual stereo? Or are you bound to have both mics switched on? In that case how would you set them up and where would you place them? Say, for example, I wanted to record a song with my guitar: would I put a mic inside the acoustic guitar hole and one on my shirt for the voice audio? Thanks ❤
You can use just one or both. Just don’t turn on one if you want a single. Then you can choose stereo/mono/split/merged it’s some button combo I always forget but if you plug it into your phone or computer you can change settings in the apps
Does this have to be their proprietary cable? Been having issues and trouble shooting these for a bit now and we can’t figure out why it doesn’t work for us still
If it is usbc to lightning from rode it should work - I know the wireless ME comes with a cable but my wireless go II did not come with it, I had to purchase separately
If you want to use the DJI with your phone you still need to do some work to make it happen. I would say it is also a hassle - you just gotta pick your drama. If you already have the mics, there might be a way to make it work. If you were buying new, there are multiple options
I’ll share that in a video asap but I saw in your other comment that you’ve got the wireless pro which I’m getting my hands on sometime next week. I’m sure it will also work the same way but excited to try it out!
Hey Marielou! what do we do if we everything connected and the sound isn’t playing in your camera roll. The mic is on I see the bars moving when I speak. But when I play the video I don’t hear anything?? Thank you
If your mic is still plugged into your phone, unplug it. I can’t hear the audio when the mic is still connected. Let me know if thats the situation for you too
Thank you for great information! I wanna ask a specific question for this mic. I bought rode wireless go 2 and the same cable which you mentioned and it worked with camera app but I couldn’t use these with telegram conversations? If you enlight me about this situation i will be greatfull.
@@marieloumandl Hi. I mean we make video conversations and recording them and we wanna use microphones but telegram app don’t let us use the microphones. This problem just for phone apps but I manage to use it on desktop app.
Okay question! If I do this exact setup with the Rode Wireless 2. Am I able to add a 3rd transmitter? If I wanna use 3 mics simultaneously? Please let me know! Thanks a bunch!
I preferred the SC15/SC19 lighting cables before their app was out because it was just easier to do and explain to others that don't know or want to know all these extra cables. If you understand TRS/TRRS life, it might be 'technically' better but the sound difference wasn't enough for me to make it more complicated with the extra adapters. I feel like when I used TRS I got some kind of hum from time to time but with the SC15/SC19 it just works. Let me know what you think!

Did you get it to work??
I can confirm that other USB to-lightning cables work. I use Baseus cable, and it worked just fine.
I'm trying one of the Apple USB-C to Lightning cables and I don't feel like it's working.
Will an Apple version work well. Best Buy in my area doesn’t have the rode in stock
@@MrJgray1319I think so
Mine doesn't work either :( @@marceloloustau7674
I couldn't tell from the test you did if the sound was coming through the Rode mic or the iPhone mic. Sounded the same to me.

@@marieloumandl I did order the rode cord for my iPhone, thank you for the video.
The lighting to usb-c cord that comes with the iPhone DOES NOT WORK.. I’ve tested 2
Hi Will this be good for street interviews??
This was an incredibly clear and helpful review. Thank you - I've subscribed. :)
Glad it was helpful!
Brilliant you really made me understand how it all works as I was becoming overwhelmed with other videos! Thank you
Thank you so much for saying that! I really love making these and it’s nice to know they actually are helpful

One way to test it is to prop your phone somewhere and walk away from it and see if the audio is still loud and clear
Or just tap with your fingers on the various mic holes and you’ll figure out where the sound comes from surely

All I can confirm is that the rode cables work
rode should ship cables with their products. When you purchase one of these units - add $50+++ for the cables that don't come with it. Money pump
I absolutely agree the cables should come with #rodewirelessme #wirelessmic #wirelessmicrophone
Can I use the cable from the box that came with the iphone? It is a usb-c to lightning, looks the same as the one from Rode.
If it is usbc to lightning from rode it should work - I know the wireless ME comes with a cable but my wireless go II did not come with it, I had to purchase separately
Love the way you presented the whole thing. Now I'm gonna buy one 😌
Why go with RODE if it's such a hassle? DJI seems like a better choice.

I was near their booth so I just asked them directly @rodemic
Is this possible to be connected to a professional mixer to amplify the sound through the speakers?
Hey there! Great explanation. Would this mic work for a livestream from the iphone?
This would work if you have the correct cables. I use them this way
Great Video!
Do you have any issues with audio drift with this setup when you film videos longer than 10 minutes?
I haven't BUT I heard about something with this happening with 32 bit float. Do you have that on?
Do you have to have Rode cables? Trying to use a apple lighting to usb c
that has never worked for me but the Rode cables always work - feel free to try but that hasn't been successful for me
@@marieloumandl had to order a rode cable..
Great video, really helped me to understand how this thing works. Thank you soo much, you got a subscribe from me!
Thanks for the sub! Glad the video was helpful
So it has to be used with a rode cable only?
I didn’t say that but it is the only way I can reliable recommend

Thanks for the info 🔥🔥

my rose and iphone 15 dont match. i had hard time til now not sync the rode with my iphone 15 huhuhuhuu. i downlaod rode app
Using the cable of iphone 15 (C to C) and connecting it directly to the mic. I did it and it works.
Did you get this to work?
That sucks you need a cable to connect to wireless
Which the best cord is working on iPhone 12 plus I get sc15 or sc 19 ?
Is there much advantage over going trrs 3.5mm to lightning other than being about to use the RODE apps?

usb-c to lighting didn’t work. Trs to trrs isn’t working either
It can’t be any old usbc to lightning cable

Travelling away and didn’t realise I needed these cables FFS poor from rode
It really shouldn’t be this difficult. What a pain in the ass.
