    I am a little confused by conflicting information on youtube. Some favor 192 titanium needles over the 540 stainless steel ones. Any thoughts? Also how many uses do you usually get before you replace a dermaroller? I would think that like a razor, we should replace it BEFORE it gets dull.

    Yes love these videos can you recommend a good dermal pen not looking for a huge kit just the actual pen 0.25 and 0.5 uses only and you were so right about only using 0.5 once every 4 to 6 weeks I actually asked my dermatologist and he said the exact same thing that you have to give the collagen time and if you do it too soon it is not good he also mentioned getting Edema as well if a medical professional says not to do it why people don’t follow that instruction is beyond me we are talking about the face that is not something I’m willing to take a risk on!!

  • @luv2garden132
    @luv2garden132 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    So crazy! I'm going back through some of your old videos and found this one. I used use a dermaroller, but stopped because a doctor who does injections and facials and all things nonsurgical for the face and body, told me the needles of these were tearing my skin. I tossed it immediately. That was probably 4-5 years ago now. That ticks me off, because I really liked it!

    • @mkb5984
      @mkb5984 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The "doctor" more than likely told you that because they wanted your money in their pockets,

    • @luv2garden132
      @luv2garden132 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mkb5984 not sure why you have doctor in quotes. 😊 She's an MD, on staff at the local hospital. Decided to switch gears though, and open a med-spa. I'm fully aware that she's wanting money, she said the same thing about my Dr. Pen. I've stopped telling her about any devices I use. I'm in a very rural area. There's a dermatologist down the road, been there, no better. So it's this or drive 200 miles to hopefully find something better.

    Hi Penny, I have learned so much watching your videos. I have a question.... I know in your other micro needling video you used a .5 needle in the pen and said no vitamin C afterwards for at least a few days. If you are using the .25 derm roller can you then use a serum with vitamin C in it or should you still avoid it. Thanks!

    Awesome tips. Question of my face in heavly pitted from scars (I'm a male) and entry pore holes is the .25mm the correct depth to use. When I use the tool I feel the tickling on the forehead and chin and nose, but less feeling in the Cheek area where the scars and putting is plenty, please advise

      Hi Penny, not sure if you'll see this but I'm terrified. I just recently started using Vit C & E on my skin in the a.m. and a very mild Retinol and Hyaluronic Acid on my skin p.m. It was going very well. My skin was glowing.
      But I have a .15 Environ dermaroller here at home. I've had it for years. Not sure what possessed me - I was looking at my wrinkles and thought more was better, so I disinfected my roller - in a bottle of mainly tea tree antiseptic that was supplied with the roller years ago. I then rinsed the roller under the tap and began using it on my face on top of the retinol and hyaluronic acid. Not long after I felt this burning sensation under my eyes (I only rolled there very gently in one direction 10x each side) so I washed my face and applied, also an old tube, of RoC Post Peeling moisturiser on my face, thinking this would calm everything down, but it burnt even WORSE! Terrifying. So I washed it off and last night I slept with a thick layer of Nivea creme on my face. Woke up and my under eyes are very inflamed and very red.
      I then went and bought Cetaphil moisturising cream today (sadly we don't have CeraVe in Africa, or most of the creams you mention).
      I'm just so worried about the very red inflammation under my eyes. My skin is strong. Usually it can handle Anything!
      I'm just not sure of what to do at this point. Is Cetaphil the right thing to put on there or should I rather put on antibiotic cream? The redness is severe - looks like I burnt my skin. Any suggestions please? I would so appreciate a reply. I'm so worried! Will my under eyes be like this forever?? As I write this my skin is very red under my eyes and still burning😳eek. Cheers - from another Penny!

      Yes you can definitely use LED immediately post rolling/needling but if it actually touches your skin you have to be EXTRA careful that the mask is sanitized.
      LED is amazing right after needling but only if you protect yourself from cross contamination 😊

    🥰 Omg! Penny this was so great! Your skin is so pretty. I have been turned off to the idea of poking needles into my skin. It seemed counterintuitive to hurt what I am trying to heal. I like thinking about the creation of micro-channels to get the serums deeper into my skin. I am going to take the plunge. Please post a neck and décolletage video. I’d also love to hear a whole bunch about growth factors. Hearing a “best of serums” would be great, too. You are such a wonderful teacher. I appreciate all you do. Yes please, more videos like this. I bought a .25 Dermaroller but have not had the guts to use it. I bought it cause utubers were raving how it made their lips fuller and helped with the wrinkles around their lips. Your saying not to do the lips, correct? Oh my goodness that growth factor is expensive. Your skin is gorgeous. I thought you were only suppose to microneedle once a week, it’s confusing from what I’ve been watching.😘

    • @PENNSMITHSKINCARE
      @PENNSMITHSKINCARE  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi there:)
      I’m definitely on the hunt for less expensive options, I promise!
      If you are rolling with a .2 or .3 you can roll often. If you roll with anything deeper (longer) you need to wait 4 weeks between rolling with that size. You can roll often with the shorter needles and then once a month do the
      .5 needle for collagen. It is confusing, I know.
      And you can do around your lips, I just don’t do my actual lips.
      Hope that makes sense 💜

    Great tutorial Penny, I was told to let my derma roller dry before putting the cover on. Is that not necessary? Also, how often should I change rollers if I'm using it weekly? xoxo Cindi

      @PENNSMITHSKINCARE  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Actually I usually do let it dry first you are right:-)
      My case isn’t air tight though so it would be ok. It’s more about not allowing moist warm air to collect in there and harbor bacteria.
      Good point for sure!! 💜

    • @PENNSMITHSKINCARE
      @PENNSMITHSKINCARE  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      And if you are using weekly your roller should last you several months, I would say probably 6 months at least. They aren’t crazy expensive so I’d err on the early side though 💜😁

      Peptides are wonderful. I’ve been looking in to a brand called Le mieux . It *looks* really good.
      Check out their website:)
      Peptides and EGF are great serums to use after rolling :)

      Fantastic. I had the same question. Then, would The ordinary Buffet copper peptides be OK after cosmetic micro-needling ? And could I still do my night routine later with Effederm 0,5 and niacinamide ?
      Thank you for your time and dedication, you are so kind and so pretty.

    Thank you so much! I finally microneedled my face with my pen. I have used the roller but got tired of the pain so was paying for skinpen. There is a numbing cream that doesnt numb me so I know that skinpen can be worse. I did .25 for my first time and it wssnt bad at all. Will do .5 next time.

    Hi Penny. I've gone back to several videos to make sure these questions had not been previously answered. You have an amazing following, there were so many comments and questions. It must make you feel good to know you have a huge fan base that trust your incredible skin science knowledge Thanks to you I am now nano needling and cosmetic needling with Anteage. My two questions:
    1. Is it also recommended to wait 2 weeks after Botox for nano or cosmetic needling like it is CIT?
    2. I've had one professional CIT however, I feel I'm ready to needle at home for CIT. Should I stick with the HMW HA or follow up CIT needling with the Anteage. I purchased the Anteage serum, accelerator and cleanser from a licensed esthetician.

    • @PENNSMITHSKINCARE
      @PENNSMITHSKINCARE  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Beverly ❤️
      I personally still wait at least a week to cosmetically needle after Botox. I don’t want my circulation pushing that toxin around anywhere I don’t want it:))
      I am so glad you started AnteAge!! Good for you!! Ok, with CIT I would still use HMW HA, either AnteAge (they make one also) or your brand of choice. The next morning after CIT resume your AnteAge system (sometimes though it can sensitize the skin so the next day you have to just figure out how your skin reacts- if you need to wait a full 24 hours before using the system that’s ok too 😊

    Hi Penny, just found you!!! I am from Brazil and I got Gin's dermarroler 0.25 and 0.5. You explain it so well!!! I am using aloe vera plant from my back yard right after and after it gets dry I am using a organic Marula oil, is that ok? I use a 0.5 yesterday and in. very very gentle way. Is that ok to put sunscreen the other day and makeup? I will follow your advise and on wait 4 week to do .5! Thank tou so so much! kisses from Brazil

    Lol, when I saw the denture cleaning tablets listed in the description, I started looking closely at your teeth, not realizing the tablets are to disinfect the roller! I was thinking "wow, those dentures look great!" Lol!
    Is the roller better than a pen? should I use both? Maybe the one is better because there is no "downtime"? Thanks for the great instruction!

    Since we are getting better product penetration would it be best to use organic as we aren't sure what is in a lot of the beauty products ingredients out there and the beauty industry isn't really regulated from ingredients that are toxic??
