Same for the types of HRT. Curious since you are using the estradiol cream on your face/neck during the day- what brands/ specific products like sunscreen and make up like foundation, primer, blush and so on 'play well' with the estradiol cream? SO many products are great on their own, but when you start layering them like using the estradiol cream , than a good face sunscreen, primer, foundation, etc. they don't hold up well, slide into tiny fine lines, etc.

I use the Amlactin as a hand lotion, but the Platinum Skincare Triple Treat Lotion is the best I have tried for the body. I'm not a fan of the Platinum fake perfumey smell (endocrine disruptor), but it's not sticky. I like that Amlactin doesn't have a heavy fake perfumey smell like most products, and the stickiness does subside. So I'll keep using both until something better comes along.
@@PENNSMITHSKINCARE I would love your opinion/review on it. I've used it for years. (BTW...I edited my comment above, to add more info.) I've used their TCA peels for years. Would also love your opinion/review on their Hyaluronic Acid, as it is one of the most potent on the market. It's too expensive ffor daily use, but I use it once a month, 3 days in a row, after a peel. From my experience, I believe it is a higher potency than most. But would love an expert's opinion who doesn't work for the company.
I use Eucerin Intensive Repair Lotion for crepey skin on my legs. It has alpha hydroxy and natural moisturizing factors. Dr Dray recommended it years ago and it has definitely helped. I use Amlactin on my feet and it makes them smooth.
I now have 3 full & 1 almost empty bottles of AmLactin thanks to Penny! I forgot I had a hidden backup and ordered 2 more during Amazon prime days. I love this stuff!
Both my naturopath & my derm had me on AmLactin for… oh geez! almost 24+ yrs now, since my late 20s - early 30s! I love how soft it makes my skin, ( my lover noticed & loves how soft it is as well ), & I absolutely notice the difference when I stop using it for whatever reason. It was 1 of the 1st things I recommitted to using routinely a few years ago when COVID hit. The only thing I do not like is the smell. It really is unpleasant. And hasn’t changed in the over 24 yrs. either! Although to be fair, you don’t really notice it after an hour or so!
Smart naturopath and derm!! Yeah- I wish the smell was better too…..but I think that’s the smell of the ammonium lactate (darn it) so if it didn’t smell that way it wouldn’t work so well lol Trade off 😊
Hi I’ve used the Blue Amlactin Intensive 15% for many years my dermatologist recommended. I felt it made a huge difference. Helped clear up alot of my brown spots & the crepey skin. I changed in the past 1-2 years & started using the Alpha AHA glycolic 12% lotion on Amazon very pleased with the results. I feel both seem the same. The AHA one stings a bit more after you first apply so I thought it may be stronger which I need. Both work great❤
Been using Amlactin (and holding my nose) for years. I also can't use it near bedtime, esp. in summer. I just feel tacky. Here's my Crepey skin routine, only trying to stay ahead of the curve. 1) weights and pilates, 2) Amlactin (or often stronger Triple Treat from PSC. 25% vs 12%) and it smells good!, 3) dry brushing and vibration plate while red light panel full body, I apply the lotion after 4) 1.5 mm Microneedling monthly on body crepe esp. upper arms and thighs 5) High %age acidic body wash with scrubby , I like PSC body wash 15%, 6). Tret on problem areas followed by retinol body cream at night. Takes a village.
Amlactin is great, I also get Alpha Skin Care with 12% lactic acid like Amlactin. I just get whatever is the cheapest at the time. I've even taken a basic body moisturizer and throw in some Lactic acid via The Ordinary. I love the dna repair serum, but they've raised their price by about $20 dollars! It never ends, something gets popular and they raise the price. Don't know if I want to repurchase, the price was already expensive at $90, now it's more,
Penn, I’ve been avoiding products with mineral oil and petroleum for many years under the impression that these ingredients are aging and carcinogenic. 😮I was a little surprised that you recommend products with petroleum and paraffins, like mineral oil. I wonder what’s your thought about these ingredients? Do you not avoid them in your daily routine? Thanks in advance for your advice and input!
These ingredients are preservatives and less toxic and irritating than other ones. They also provide a barrier on top of humectants to keep the skin moisture in. I have been using Vaseline after my moisturizer on my hands at night when it is dry. It really helps me. A dermatologist recommended it to me.
This was great info! The part about the expensive product that will help with skin cancer was fantastic info since I am going this month to have skin cancer removed. I do absolutely wear sunscreen everyday no matter if I am going outside or not. I hope these products work. Thanks ❤️
No better moisturizer than amlactin I use the crepe firming formula daily, after bath, from the neck down. I also had r/f microneedling (3 sessions) on my upper Ams and my knees last year, and 6 sessions of r/f microneedling on my face/neck. Wow the tightening effect and the reversal of crepeyness has been amazing! Thanks for your info I love your other suggestions as well and will definitely add to my regimen
@@starrseed2687 would you be ok in naming the exact kind of r/f microneedling sessions you had? If had a couple on my face/neck/décolleté & while I’ve seen a bit of progress, not much in my opinion. Perhaps they were not the right version!?
I had Fractora RF needling one time on my arms a couple years ago and had great improvement. The numbing shots were brutal though (seriously spicy). I need to do it again! I’d love to hear the type of RF needling you had too!
❤Amlactin is the very BEST! Been using since I was 30! No need for Retin-A for me with this! Everyone thinks I'm 10 years younger... thanks in part to Amlactin!!🙌❤
I’ve used Amlactin on & off for years, hearing you talk about it, I’m going to use it every night. Can you recommend a less expensive DNA repair? Your skin is beautiful & so are you💜
Definitely need something less expensive. When I clicked on the link for the photozyme product, I found that it's $115, which is way too expensive. There's a 30% discount that expires today, Nov. 3rd which brings it down to $80.50.
MY experience with AmLactin: I live in Texas and walk my dogs outside 2x/day, so I already have a "base" of color on my arms/legs year-round. I'm religious about SPF on my face, neck, chest and hands, but for these 30-45 minute walks, I let the rest of my bare skin get some Vit D. While using AmLactin, my arms and legs got quite PINK, and probably would've burned, if not for my "base" color. So for new users of this product, SPF is highly recommended! I'm a green-eyed blonde, between a Type 2 and 3 on the Fitzpatrick skin scale.
I preferred Alpha skin care 12% aha more than amalactin. I didn't like the smell of amalactin and feel like the alpha is more effective and more moisturizing.
Hi Penny, I’ve been using Alpha Glycolic 12% body lotion for almost 4 yrs and it really fixed my super dry skin. I also have my PCP prescribe Ammonuim Lactate foot Cream ( a large bottle) 14.00. My feet are like baby bottom softness and do not have to use very often. Have to wear gloves when applying as your hands will peel. I for sure am going to order this one. Thank you bunches.
@ I’m glad I’m not the only one. Lol. It really freed me of alligator skin and creepy skin. I love to do a body scrub ( once a week) shave then apply the 12% lotion all over. And my tiny toy poodle loves that stuff? She will come into the bathroom and stretch as far as she can and start licking my feet and legs. I have to hurry and get my Jammie’s on as it can’t be good for her. I also started using Gold Bond Retinol lotion. I alternate using them. It’s really helped with the creepy skin.
@ lol yes it is. It’s like she can smell it and to me it has no smell. But she comes down her stairs off the bed when Iam applying it and it’s like she dying of thirst in licking as fast as she can. lol🤦🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🙃. I tell her she going to make her tongue raw. Hehehaha.
I’ve been using the Alpha Glycolic 12% for a couple years. Love it. May try the Amlactin, but I have a super sensitive nose, so we’ll see if I can tolerate the smell. I swear I was a Bloodhound in a previous life ! 😂🤣
Another great video with valuable information, thank you. Definitely interested in DNA Repair Enzymes, but OUCH on that price when it is just one part of an overall skin regimen...
I love Amlactin! I first bought it to use on my feet and it works incredibly well for that. At some point I realized that it was probably going to be good for the rest of my body and it is!
The best things that work miraculous for my dry aging skin is Aloe vera gel and saturated tallow fat. I also stay properly hydrated. I eat a carnivore diet and my skin and hair look amazing. I am over 50. I don't spend money on special products. I eat right, exercise and drink salty water with all 88 minerals and trace minerals. True beauty comes from within.
@alonaampuan6834 of course, using lactic acid is just part of my anti-aging routine.. also Trentinion, estrogen cream, and red light therapy. I don't have cosmetic procedures, but I attribute it mostly for using sunscreen for decades.
I noticed your tattoo on your wrist. I just got one that is a disintegrating anchor with birds flying out of the disintegration. There's a bird for every one of my children. I love it!

Also, Photozyme emphasizes that the body lotion is NOT formulated for the face, but I also use it there anyway, although it does seem to irritate my eyes so I have to be careful. Maybe they don't want us to realize we could get 4x the product for the same price? I have no idea what concentration, or which of the repair enzymes in the body lotion vs the 1.7 oz face lotion. Penny said in this video that the body lotion has the enzyme activated by light, but for some reason I thought that one only had the one NOT activated by light. Penny, any light you could shed on that would be helpful! Also, even though the body lotion is thick, I still find it fairly light, almost like a gel cream. For me it dries down very soft and doesn't feel heavy on my face at all. I hope it's working! And thx for the motivation to regularly use my amlactin. I find myself avoiding it because I don't wanna smell like ammonia, but I know it's great stuff, and CHEAP!
I know Photozyme doesn’t recommend the omega 36 body for the face- but I love it as an overnight moisturizer sometimes (on the face). I don’t think it’s a nefarious reason lol but I think their formulator created the youth recovery as a serum specifically for the face and the body lotion more like a balm (and therefore lots of people might like it best on the body). I play with my skincare though…I’m always putting facial skincare on my body (when it doesn’t work for my face, I use it up on my body) and vice versa (when it works). 😎 It does contain a light activated DNA RE, from plankton, and also a DNA RE that doesn’t require light to work. 🧡🧡🧡
Hi Penn, thank you for all your knowledge ❤ I have a question I am hoping you can answer…everything we put on our skin gets absorbed and ends up in our bloodstream, in the same way a nicotine patch works (not that I am a smoker). Has anyone done research on the effects of these exfoliating acids and what they do to our blood vessels and capillaries as they inadvertently circulate through our body? 🤔❤️
I totally agree with you. I'm glad to see your comment, the skin absorb, and these ingredients not sure are the best for that reason, and I understand great skin care needs collagen peptides, as we are aging, the skin loses it , and the volume of the skin is lose, hydration also, I feel it start inside out, replacing the things we lose as we age.
@aprilgayles8389 exactly. So glad you agree. I have not heard anyone talk about this. Yes, these topicals can make our skin look great, but at what expense to the inside of our body as it gets absorbed into our bloodstream? I am now questioning a lot of my skincare choices. I had live blood cell analysis done in the summer and compared to the one I had 6 months earlier the integrity of my blood cells was dismal. The only thing I could think of that I changed as a Holistic Nutritionist was my skincare routine 🤷🏼♀️🤔
Thank you so much. This was an excellent episode. Placing my order now. And can’t wait for your video on winter treatments since I’m already putting together a plan for my face 😊

What do you think of crape Erase,I also bought that. Not sure if it’s doing anything. I love your videos. I feel at home when I hear your voice. Thank you so much for it.
Penn is the green bottle work under the skin versus the blue bottle doesn’t? Is that why you chose to get the green lotion vs the blue amalactin. My other question is will the cream which with the 15% lactic acid work the same way. I remember someone else I watched on TH-cam said one of the amalactin only works on the surface where the other works like a serum. Is it the green bottle works like the serum? Thank you
Penn, you are so informative, helpful and inspiring. I appreciate you and your videos very much. If you already talked about this and I missed it, I apologize. But I have been wanting to ask you if you would do a video that talks about the difference between how photozyme and oneskin reverse damage. I know one uses enzymes snd one uses peptides, but what are difference in what they are achieving for us and are they synergistic? I find it confusing. Thank you!!!

I ordered the Amlactin Lotion for crepey skin. One of the top ingredients is Mineral Oil, which I have always been told, is not a good ingredient for Body Lotion because it does not absorb into all layers of skin. So it's a no for me.
It is unfortunate the influencers with little scientific education have given mineral oil, paraffin and petroleum jelly a bad name. They are great when used as intended.
@@karenterentjev4766 I used to own a retail store that only sold bath and body products. I never brought in lotions with Mineral Oil, because it's the cheapest oil you can put in your lotion. Mineral Oil does not penetrate all the layers of skin. It just sits on the top layer.
Question, you said that the photozyme lotion's active ingredient is activated by sunlight. If you put on spf , will it work, or will the spf cause it to be inactive?
Hi Penn, do you have another suggestion for crepey skin? I've used AMLactin Daily not too long ago and it really made my arms and legs burn. Not sure if my skin is too sensitive or what. I ended up giving it to my daughter who uses it on her feet. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Penn!

I tried this and loved that my crepey skin was right away. However I developed a rash on my lower legs. Stopped using it until it clears up. Hoping when I try it again the rash doesn’t come back. First affordable thing I found that works.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I've been trying to find SOMETHING that works for creepy skin forever. I am going to buy both today! AGAIN, THANK YOU!
I have that body lotion from platinum but I haven’t opened it! I’ll have to check it out
@@PENNSMITHSKINCARE I would love your opinion/review on it.
@@PENNSMITHSKINCARE you'll definitely feel the extra strength of it, start slow and NOT after shaving! My only sensitive area is the nook of my elbow.
I use Eucerin Intensive Repair Lotion for crepey skin on my legs. It has alpha hydroxy and natural moisturizing factors. Dr Dray recommended it years ago and it has definitely helped. I use Amlactin on my feet and it makes them smooth.
My skin couldn't handle Amlactin. I ended up with a rash from the AHA. Do you think Eucerin is gentle?
@ I have no issues with it. I found the Amlactin sticky on my body.
Yeah- I wish the smell was better too…..but I think that’s the smell of the ammonium lactate (darn it) so if it didn’t smell that way it wouldn’t work so well lol
Trade off 😊
Hi I’ve used the Blue Amlactin Intensive 15% for many years my dermatologist recommended.
OH! And my DNA repair body cream arriving today!
you use the amlactin in the morning and retinol at night?
@@MISSYMINX261 sure do! Other than my neck, my skin is very tolerant.
Thanks for sharing your routine. Its so helpful. Good Luck.
Iv’ve used Amlactin for at least 15 years on my very dry skin. I can’t live without it.
SUCh a great video!!! Loved this one!!!
Thank you sweet friend!
Don't know if I want to repurchase, the price was already expensive at $90, now it's more,
I’ve been torn between the two. Which do you like best/which smells best of the two? Thanks
@@cherrycoke3254 I'm using the Alpha Skin Care Renewal Body Lotion now, and it doesn't have a smell. Maybe? a very faint smell, but not noticeable.
Following for the same reason.
These ingredients are preservatives and less toxic and irritating than other ones. They also provide a barrier on top of humectants to keep the skin moisture in.
I have been using Vaseline after my moisturizer on my hands at night when it is dry. It really helps me.
A dermatologist recommended it to me.
Adding a fragrance product helps with the smell. I add a Hempz moisturizer.. My favourite is Sweet Almond & Koa.
Can you use it on your creepy hands
I've been using ammonium lactate for years & I'm never without it. It works very well.
I appreciate you so, so much, beautiful lady !
Very interesting! I find I suffer crepey skin under my eyes! Anyone else?
Oh yes me too 🙋♀️

You look 10 years younger with the new hair color! Wow, you look STUNNING!!!! Almost didn’t even recognize you!
My sunscreen has DNA repair in it- ISDIN. I really like it!
I’ve been using Korean exfoliating mitts and amylin cream for four years 3 to 4 times a week. Im 55 and have no crepey skin
@@Kikilovesskin could you share the Korean mitts you’re speaking about?
The Amlactin is on sale for $10.38 it's usually $24.99! I have never tried it before but I'm definitely trying it now! Thank you Penny
It’s such a budget friendly option (that truly works!!).
That sale is awesome!!
It's $13 in my cart. You are getting a great deal.
I went back and looked again for other listings and found the $10 option. You just saved me 3+ dollars. Thank you 😀
@@ShelleyHannaArt you are welcome! We have to look out for each other! When I clicked on Penny's link it took me to the $10 deal 😉
Love it. Definitely makes my skin and heels of feet much softer.
My dermatologist highly recommended it. It works!
I preferred Alpha skin care 12% aha more than amalactin. I didn't like the smell of amalactin and feel like the alpha is more effective and more moisturizing.
Just ordered, I don't do well with fragrances. Thanks.
I've been using the 12% lotion for years and I love it
@ I’m glad I’m not the only one.
Isn’t that funny about your pup?!! lol
Thanks Penn for sharing these products.
I been using Amlactin on my face and body for years! I'll be 60 in Dec.👍
Oh that’s so great! Thank you for sharing 💙
And honestly how old u look at 60 by using it
@alonaampuan6834 of course, using lactic acid is just part of my anti-aging routine.. also Trentinion, estrogen cream, and red light therapy. I don't have cosmetic procedures, but I attribute it mostly for using sunscreen for decades.
Penn, you look gorgeous and glowing!
Love AmLactin. I learned from you a while ago. It helps me with the bumps on my arms

Thank you for sharing!
I have been using the AmLactin for a few years and love it…I could tell a difference right of the bat.
My friend from the UK is visiting and a couple months ago I told her to order Amlactin…she just told me yesterday that she can’t stop touching her arms they’re so smooth! She’s 58 and thrilled
They sell Amlactin at Costco- I have using it since I was a child -dermatologist recommended
I love it that it’s at Costco!!
Thanks nice of u to give all details.
It does contain a light activated DNA RE, from plankton, and also a DNA RE that doesn’t require light to work. 🧡🧡🧡
Amlactin is the absolute best for dry, bumpy, rough skin. Using the DNA cream you suggested too,
Thanks so much!
Yay!
OMG! I am so in need of this information! Thank you.

Costco had a super great deal on Amlactin so I bought two large bottles and was so excited only to get it home and find it really stinks on my skin! P. U. And the smell doesn't subside.
Hi Penn, I am 66 and oh boy the creepy skin has really come through now on my arms and on top of my knees so I did buy the AmLactin love it feels great.
I'm running to Amazon and putting this in my cart!!!

Thanks so much Penn. After Amlactin at night, ok to shower before DNA repair in the morning?
Penn, what is your feeling on the mineral oil that is in AmLactin? From what I understand it’s not good for our skin.
I get my Am lactin from costco! Just hav3 to get over the smell. That dissipates quickly. I have to start using again. Great video
Which would you recommend to prioritize? Retinol or Amlactin?
Hi Penn! Thanks for this content. I bought the AmLactin on Prime Day as you had suggested. Can you talk about Retinoids and where they would fit into a routine like this? I use the Gold Bond Age Renew with Retinol. Thank you! ❤
In your opinion would One Skin Body have a place in a crepey skin routine? Pampered Wolf on YT had her mother in her 70s use OS Body on the crepeniss on her arms, and the results were amazing!
Absolutely, you could use oneskin body instead of photozyme in this routine!
I LOVE oneskin body. It’s my favorite product from the whole line.

I’ve lost weight (and aged) so my face is definitely different.
I did also have 2 agree RF treatments (now a year ago and in Jan 2024) there’s a video up if you’re curious 💙
I ordered the Amlactin Lotion for crepey skin. One of the top ingredients is Mineral Oil, which I have always been told, is not a good ingredient for Body Lotion because it does not absorb into all layers of skin. So it's a no for me.
Mineral oil is an amazing ingredient for the body. It’s an occlusive that locks in hydration helping the skin.
