For any of my rosacea sisters and brothers, I've had really good luck with The Inkey List's PHA toner and Aveeno's Calm & Restore PHA Facial Exfoliator. I like the Aveeno because it's easy to use a couple times a week in the shower, but The Inkey List is great if I forget. I leave the Aveeno one on my face for about a minute or so in the shower before rinsing it off. Both make a really big difference in my skin as far as smoothing it!
I use the Maelove night glycolic acid cream a couple nights a week love it. My 59 year old skin skin really seems to like it. I like a lot of their products.
Appreciate your wisdom! I am loving a 10% Glycolic Acid serum by Medix (very affordable) that includes: Lactic, Phytic, and Salicylic acids. It is used at night but not with Retin A which I use twice weekly. Since I added the serum I have had many compliments on my 65 year skin from sister, friends and a gal at the beauty counter asked me what i was using.
Love your content, it has made a huge difference in my skin...I get compliments on it often- THANK YOU!! I also love your shirts. Any way you can add links to your tops on your videos? I bought that cute "Mother" shirt you were wearing in one of your videos. So so cute!
My latest favorite acid toner is by numbuzin: PHA pads, with salicylic acid, PHA, Niacinamide, licorice, and mandelic acid. I use them 2x/wee, and use retinol at night. My skin is far happier and brighter. For a PHA moisturizer, I like Neostrata Bionic Lotion, with 15% PHA (lactobionic and Gluconolactone), I've seen stunning results on my arms to reduce my Keratosis pilaris on my arms.
Has anyone tried "Geek&Gorgeous" Smooth out toner? It has 10% Glycolic acid and 2% Lactic acid. Also, I think the price is good, €30 for 100ml. I think they have, all in all, great products. Let me just add that they have two more toners, one is 5% Mandelic acid and 1% Salicylic acid (I'm using this one quite a long time and it's ok, but I think I need something stronger). And their lightest toner is 3.2% PHA and 0.8% BHA. For anyone who isn't able to spend a lot, they seem like a good option. Also, I love their retinal serums! I stand by those wholeheartedly. 😊
I love their vitamin c, retinal, cleansers, mist and the new peptides serum that in my opinion are neck to neck with the best of the skincare brands. (Their Ascorbic acid is done in small weekly lots)Their acids are maybe not as revolutionary in my opinion but are good. Their price overall is the best in the market. There is no bad product in the Geek &Gorgeous house in my book. Plus they deliver around the world at a velocity I cannot even explain including US.
Thx Penn. you’re so right, my skin was dull and went I went in for my SC check , I asked my derm about the “ bumpies” lol/ on my forehead… she said closed comedones, so I’ve tried to exfoliste with a Sephora aha/ bha leave on serum/ on every 3 rd night, and it’s improved drastically ! Thx for the rec’s🌸🌸living for the Pdx weather ⭐️
I started adding glycolic acid to my daily routine about three months ago and my skin has FINALLY started letting go of the annoying texture I haven’t been able to manage since starting Tretinoin!! It started working within a few weeks!!! I am using The Ordinay’s version. I also have VERY oily skin and am in a humid area.
I have missed watching your content for a bit, but after popping back in, can’t help but notice your face looks either slimmer or jawline sharper… you look fantastic (and did before!)! Is it weight loss, skin care, something new?
Years ago, yes I had surgery (there’s a video on it on the channel). This change is from weight loss and also I did do Agnes RF (video up on that too if you want details). 💙
@@PENNSMITHSKINCAREyes details about Rf. Penn, plz help. I have dark spots and I need a makeup that can even out my complexion. This is for an event coming up. I never had to wear markup before but age and menopause changed my skin, so I know nothing about foundation. Can you suggest one??
Would love a video on the difference between pigmentation coming to the surface versus worsening pigment. I have Melasma and it's so scary to see my pigmentation darken, but I have read that's how it comes to the surface. Are there any resources that discuss this?
I have been using Dermelect Sleep Serum every third night and am loving it! I can even use it on my neck with no problems. I use tretinoin on one night and hydration only on the other night. It has been working out great for my skin. I love your videos Penn. You are so informative and have really gotten my skin in the best condition that its ever been! ❤
I use a glycolic toner every morning and at night I mix it up with using a salicylic toner some nights and a green tea toner some nights and a niacinamide toner other nights.
Thank you, this was really helpful. I have the P50 lotion for anti pigmentation and not really used it. I will now incorporate it into my morning steps, thanks Penny ❤❤
Thank you for this one, Penny! Would love to hear your recommendations on acids for Keratosis Pilaris. I am such a facial acids junkie, that I tend to just use my 'leftovers' on my thighs / bottom / backs of arms... but I have yet to find that Holy Grail solution for KP. I know you mentioned Ingrowns in this video - fortunately that is something I have successfully managed with acids 🙌🏼, but it's the Keratin issues I'm still working toward solving. Thanks in advance ~ you are appreciated ~ and you have CHANGED MY LIFE AND MY SKIN 😘
I use the BR P50W which is for very sensitive skin and mature skin. I also like the Paula's Choice Mandelic. I spot use the Paula's Choice 2% BHA. I basically see what my skin is doing for the day and pick one or none. Great video filled with wonderful information. Thank you!
The P50 is a nice product..I used it for years, but the price for skin acids should never, ever be sold at such an incredible markup “In my opinion”.. Thanks for all the recommendations Penny👍🏼😁
I do agree, it’s my exception to the “acids don’t need to be expensive” rule for *myself* but I do not think anyone NEEDS expensive exfoliators. I’m hooked on it though lol
@@PENNSMITHSKINCAREwhat is it about that formula that makes it so good? Do you think it's the phenol? I'm not even sure what phenol is supposed to do for your skin....it's like a mysterious unicorn! Lol
Penn...thanks so much for all your detailed info!!! Skin is more dry, since using tretnoin. Has always been oily and taking spirolactone, which has worked to control acne. Occasionally have a breakout with slight oily chin. Assuming the acid for acne would be best? Any recommendations for a skin analysis?
I like Sunday Riley Good Genes lactic acid. You can apply and leave on overnight or if you’re sensitive use it as a 20 minute mask. My skin is silky soft the next morning.
P50 is so fabulous! And also lasts for such a long time. After using just that for the last five years or so (am 47 now) I just switched it up to try out something that has been intriguing me for awhile - Oumere's No. 9. A blend of lactic and mandelic plus other earthy-type ingredients...more expensive than BR's actually but I was in the mood for something new and her line and ingredients have intrigued me. My favorite antioxidant serum is an all plant one (Herbal Face Food) - so my AM now is all plant-focused products and my PM routine brings on the heavy hitter chemical actives. Seems to be working well :) Bright, firm, glowy face.
I just started using P50, and love it! I’ve been considering trying the Herbal Face Food. I hear so many people raving about it. So you’re a fan of HFF?
I can't stop thinking about Theraderm Nupeel - you recommended this years ago, and I purchased it on a whim and fell in love. Unfortunately it's extremely difficult to get in Australia - I would love something comparable if you have any suggestions? xx
I’ve been using The Ordinary Lactic Acid 10% + HA for years. Makes my skin so bright and lovely. The month after I started using it I went into the medspa for a tuneup and the gal I’ve been seeing for years raves about how my skin looked. Winner winner. I also use mandalic & glycolic in the form of a cleanser, that’s a newer addition but been loving it, immediate result.
I'm confused. Do we use it before our other skincare in the am? How long do we wait before we apply everything else?😮 57 years old, normal skin, minimal wrinkles around my eyes, very occasionally small dry patches. Please help!!!
That is so exciting! I hope you love it as much as I do. Start by patting it in to the skin with a cotton round- swiping/wiping is more aggressive and can be irritating. I DO wipe now especially my T-zone but I recommend starting with the patting application to assess your skin 💙
@@PENNSMITHSKINCARE thank you for the recommendation. I had noticed, on your video, that you were “patting” it versus “swapping” so that is what I was going to do. And, my plan, right now, is to use it the mornings after the evenings I do not use my retinal? Thanks again😍
I love PCA Skin Nutrient Toner. I have acne prone, dry skin. I use this every morning. Doesn’t cause dryness or irritation. If I get a blemish I use Paula’s Choice 2% BHA, but I can’t use this everyday because it will dry my skin out. Love them both for different reasons.
I loved how you broke all these down and simplified the differences by skin needs!! Thank you! I've been using a Korean one by Some By Mi. It's an AHA, BHA, PHA. Have you ever heard of it or tested it?
I’m a P50 girl and have tried them all. P50W and P50 PiGM are my go-to’s. Love the info and want to get the Naturium for my sister who struggles with acne and congestion!
Great info!! I’ve tried the naturium BHA because I’ve heard such great things and after three times of trying it, it’s confirmed that it causes me to break out. I’m so confused as to why but guessing it means it’s not my acid. I have normal to dry skin so I may try the P50 you use.
Always love your videos Penny and you are so 'on point' and articulate with your information. I'm trialling AHA BHA PHA 30 Days Miracle Toner and I find it quite gentle on my sensitive skin thanks to its ingredient deck. Lots of love from Kiwiland 🤗
After your AM routine video I ordered the Minimalist Lactic Acid plus Glycolic serum - it arrives tomorrow! So excited for the Creator Collab with ZIIP and Current Body. You got me hooked on red light therapy and micro-current 4 years ago, and I know it’s made an enormous difference in my skin. Thank you!
Let us warn people not to use salicylic acid right after they shave!! lol Hey Penny, question for you- don’t retinols exfoliate our skin enough so that we don’t need to do a chemical exfoliation on a daily basis? I just do a strong glycolic peel maybe once a week/every other week and then I’m sure not to use any retinol for 48 hrs after. Thanks! ☺️
I use the Ordinary AHA/BHA Peeling solution once a week and Mother Made Exfoliating Vegan Facial Peeling Gel. Yes, I know that isn't all dead skin balling up. It says it's cellulose fibers in the formula, but my face and hands feel so silky smooth after I use it. It's just remarkable. Ordinary on Sunday and Mother Made on Wednesday. Mid week it depends on how my skin feels. Salicylic acid cleanser or glycolic toner or simply wash gently with a buff puff and CeraVe knock off cleanser. (Walgreens). Sometimes I just let my skin rest. It's good to listen to your body.
Love this! I have a product like that from Theraderm….it leaves my skin so soft and smooth I know exactly what you mean! I’m going to look up the mother made! Thanks for sharing 💙💙
You look really good, Penn! Very beautiful defined jawline.... thanks for advice on acids.I 've been fine with Glycolic, but over time when pumping up my tret and vit C %, i have pulled back with my AHA toner and use lower % only every other day. More would irritate my skin. For example, P50 really irritated my skin, although i used mild version, i think W... i tried a few times with big breaks in between, but it made my skin burn and go very red without calming down on next day. My fave way to use it to cleanse my skin with Pixie mud cleanser 5% aha in the morning- i use it as mask- put it on dry skin and wash it off in 5 min in shower, sometimes i rotate it with my Isntree aha serum 8% as a mask before vit C. I've heard acid helps Vit C to penetrate better but not sure if its true?. Used to use ordinary 30% and the ordinary and pixie aha toners, but don't find them so handy anymore. Just in case or rare pimples, i always keep small 30 ml Paula's Choice BHA 2% toner also handy, thats a miracle worker in emergency situations.
Thanks for the super informative content Penn! 🙌 I'm 48 with oily skin and love the Naturium BHA Liquid Exfoliant. My daughter has just turned 13 and is struggling with congestion (blackheads and pimples). Would this be safe for her to use as well (provided she applies SPF of course)?
Ok Pen… speaking of “toners” look at those arms girl! Looking good! I can tell you are lifting! I am too, and 54, so trying to lift heavier post menopause. You look amazing! Also curious… I know you mentioned in a previous video that you had lost weight and your face was showing it, but it really looks great! Have you done anything different around the jawline? Or is that just weight loss that is giving you that chiseled look. Beautiful in all ways Pen, before and after.
I would love a recommendation! I’m 65 years old, have dry skin that is prone to milia. In the past, my aesthetician suggested I try salicylic acid but I was thinking maybe lactic. I live in a dry climate (Colorado) and use tretinoin so am constantly fighting dryness. But those darn milia. Not sure what to use.
How do i use salicylic acid do i use it on dry skin or wet skin? N can i use niacinamide n hyaluronic acid 2%+B5 too along with peptides? Hope to hear from you soon?
Platinum Skincare has a 6-in-1 toner, that basically has all the acids! Have you tried that one? I have it, but I'm using up my bottle of Paula's Choice BHA first, so I haven't opened it yet. I personally love a Mandelic Acid peel, but since I have large pores and combo skin, I tend to go for a daily salicylic acid toner, so I'm curious about the PSC 6-in-1 results.
Now using Paulas Choice Mandelic and Lactic toner and really like it. I use Salycilic acid on my chest and back for congestion, and spot treat any face breakouts with Sal acid, as well.
Thank you! It’s not really (just so you know). A few years ago I had a neck lift- after I did Kybella and it left me with a deflated balloon under my chin (there’s a video on it here on the channel). But I pay a lot of attention to the skin on my neck (I use my acids on my neck, my vitamin A on my neck and all serums and lots of moisture on my neck). In the winter I needle my neck and for a quick fix I’ll use silicone patches to plump the necklace lines. 😊😊😊 The dang neck is tricky!
Lately I have been seeing a lot of Rice ingredient in moisturizers, toners, serums I want to know if rice has any benefits for the skin, does it work for skin or is it a waste of money to purchase products with rice in it.
Have you tried Chemist Confessions? Founded by two cosmetic chemists who I think used to work at L'Oreal. I love their line of exfoliants since they're multi-use (as a mask, add a drop into other serums/moisturisers, as as spot treatment). They have a glycolic/tranexamic, a mandelic/salicylic, and a lactic/gluconolactone.
Great information! Thank you. I have mature, oily, textured skin. Can I use glycolic+salicylic (is that AHA+BHA)? I will definitely need to play around to see if I become too sensitive to the glycolic. My skin tends to get overly dry and flakey.
You are so amazing and helpful! I don’t know where you get your graphics but they explain so well. Thank you for being you- you offer incredible education. Question. I just ordered the megelin led face mask. It looked ok to me based on your advice. What do you think? I hope I didn’t miss any thing. You look amazing, btw!
Good morning 🌞 I use the ordinary niacinamide 10% plus zinc in the a.m. at the end of my serums. I use the ordinary lactic acid 10% as my last serum in the p.m. My face is not dry it’s just normal. If I add one of these which one would you suggest AND where would I put it in my routine? I am going to see my son will use the Paula’s Choice 2% BHA liquid exfoliants because he does get acne sometimes Enjoy your journey in life and keep spreading your sunshine
Peggy i haven’t seen your videos in a while… you look so different! I’m thinking you lost weight maybe but you look great! If you’ve made any changes please share cuz i need to know lol!! Regarding exfoliation i use Paulas Choice and now Maelove which I love but unfortunately my milias laugh🤯 I’m sure no one notices them but me but i hate them. Can you please do a video on this topic and how you tackle them at work w your clients. I know in some states an aesthetician is not allowed to remove them even though they do! Maybe you can recommend what else can be done. I do extract some myself 😬
Thank you dear Penn for all of your information. What percent is in the lactic acid you love and could I find it in a lactic acid serum. I was wondering if there is something comparable for us you prefer a lactic acid serum or is the toner their best way to go Thank you for all you do
You look awesome Penny ❤ Any special diet for weight loss? (Not that you needed to lose weight!!!) I was on HRT for about six months and that made me gain weight (they say it’s not supposed to make you gain but I did…. very frustrating…I’m 53)
I started using mandelic acid and started slowly. I have normal to dry skin and my concerns are anti-aging , brightening and occasional hormonal breakouts. I also seem to be experiencing some subcutaneous hyperplasia on my face and chest. I’ve slowly increased how many times a week I use it and I can’t seem to find the good balance of actually seeing some exfoliation but worrying I may be using it too often now because I keep having flaky skin and breakouts when I typically do not deal with that. I’ve noticed some burning when applying the mandelic acid too but I’m not sure if it’s because of breakouts or not.I also alternate using differin which I’ve used for years and done see it improving a lot for me but when I don’t use it, my skin is worse off. Any tips? Should I use a retinol type product or maybe bakuchiol? I typically use a cleanser, mandelic acid or differin, Moisturizer. During the day I use sunscreen of course and if my skin is feeling really dry I’ll use a more emollient moisturizer or something to add more moisture to my skin
Hi @PennSmithSkinCare…I will be 71 next month. I have used the Paula’s Choice and currently using The Ordinary’s new Saccharomyces Ferment 30% Milky Toner, but I’m not telling a difference in my skin. I’ve never had acne or skin issues and always had small pores. But with age, the pores around my lower cheeks and chin have increased and around my nose (not bad, just more noticeable.) I’ve never been oily or overly dry, but I just want to see a better surface, and you mentioned The Minimalist helps collagen production, as well. Would you suggest me trying The Minimalist, to see better results?
Hi Penn! Thank you so much for this info. Is it ok to use a SALICYILIC ACID wash (I use the Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Stress Control Power-Clear Facial Scrub, 2% Salicylic Acid Acne Treatment Medication, Exfoliating Daily Acne Face Scrub ) along with the GLYCOLIC ACID Toner? My skin gets a lot of the comedone bumps (having to laser them off at times) so trying to prevent that while also exfoliating.
Awesome info, Penny ❤ Since fighting melasma and hyperpigmentation are my main concerns, I'm a fan of chemical exfoliants in complex formulations that include other skin lighteners. So products like Murad's Rapid Dark Spot Correcting Serum that has glycolic and tranexamic acid or La Roche-Posay's Glycolic B5. Allies of Skin has their Mandelic Pigmentation Corrector, which is also fantastic. Medik8 also has an acid toner that includes salicylic acid and tranexamic acid, so lots of amazing options out there! 😊
I've been using BHA 2% exfoliant but did not really understand the differences in chemical exfoliants, so thank you! QUESTION : I'd like to try lactic acid and I'm wondering if it's okay to use different types of chemical.exfolianta on different days or layer them etc? Or if I shoukd only.be using one type? 57 year old normal to dry skin ❤❤❤
@@PENNSMITHSKINCARE they have that definition I’ve tried to obtain myself, I’m just too inconsistent 🙄 I just hate lifting, ugh. Just need to apply my skincare discipline… ten pushups before I add my next serum 😂
Hi Penny! My skin concerns are to rejuvenate collagen, plump and hydrate my skin. Does Lactic acid help with building collagen like the Glycolic? I live in a dry climate and my skin barrier can be compromised sometimes. I was going to purchase a glycolic but now I’m on the fence. Thank you for your awesome videos and expertise! Appreciate you so much! 🤗🩷🫶🏼
Lactic does stimulate collagen and also something called glycosaminoglycans (humectants) in the skin. I don’t think it’s as robust as glycolic in that regard but it’s so amazing at hydration that I think it’s a great place for you to start!
More to the point; I am wondering if microneedling with a copper peptide would help to balance out the idiopathic guttate hypomelanosis on my arms :) is there any research on this - just an idea. :)
Hi Penn, I watched this video when you first posted it but I came to revisit. I have a question, I hope you can help me. I’m 51, my skin recently changed from very oily to dry. I suffer with blackheads and very open pores, recently I started using Paula’s Choice salicylic acid in the morning and at night when I’m not using my Tazarotene, which I use only 3 times a week, I can’t do more. I’ve been using Tazarotene for years. Anyways, my question is about the BR P50 1970, I noticed watching this time that it contains salicylic acid. Can you use the P50 while using Tazarotene? About a year ago I was told I couldn’t use P50 while being on a retinoid, but watching this video and how it’s good to use different acids for different skin concerns I don’t see why they can’t be used “together“ as long as I start slow, as you mention in the video. I’ve been intrigued by lotion P50 for years, but I don’t want to give up my retinoid. Thank you.
Hi, I really enjoy your channel. I went with trying the MANDELIC ACID you suggested. I do have some hyper pigmentation and I’m noticing now I am 60. I’ve got that orange peel look along my chin area and I’m not a fan.😂 I am pretty normal skin and I do have a skin care routine, lately I’ve been using Sunday Riley products , but want to see about spending less if possible. Appreciate any input 😊
I have gone thru two bottles of Medik8 PHA and liked the product. I don’t have a problem with sensitivity and after seeing this Utube I think I would like to try lactic acid but don’t want to get hooked on the hyper expensive PS 50. What do you think of The Ordinary’s lactic acid? The Tarte product didn’t appeal to me. Also, can you explain phenol pros and cons? Thanks for all you share. Your followers really appreciate your content.
I LOVE my P50. So many different choices of those. There are videos that help with choosing the right one. I’m using P50 V. I was wondering about this. I have big pores and congestion in the nose area. Would it help to just use the salycilic acid in that area alone Would that make a difference? As always beautiful and so helpful.
Hi Penny, another great video. Can you please tell us if it can be used on the neck also. I see you doing your face but never seen doing your neck or talk about it. Neck is equally important as face which shows signs of aging. Also want to say with respect that, including me you have lot of subscribers and watchers with different skin tones. Glycolic acid can cause post hyper pigmentation in brown to black skin. Hope you will let us know that.Thanks.
Great video. So a question, my skin in on the dry side. I used the 10% Lactic acid from the ordinary today, sometimes I just don't remember. And I try to use the Glycolic Acid 7% every week or so. How Often do you use lactic acids and glycolic acids in your routine?. Every day? I think I don't use enough so I'm curious how often you use.
@@rebella5769 I got it on eBay as there’s not much choice in the uk as we have no culture of ‘Peels’ .. it’s called ‘peel deal’ and comes in various strengths. I used the toner by the ordinary and the peeling solution so just thought I’d try this. You only leave it on for 5 mins and neutralise with bicarbonate and water.
@@tcwc5928 no no peeling just a bit drier or flakier for a couple of days. I use a salicylic wash before hand and argan oil afterwards. La Roche posay cicaplast balm b5 is great too.
Dear Penny, I have a question to you. I follow your actual Am/PM-Routine to tackle hyperpigmentation. I bought all of your recommended products and in fact I already see some results (although I know, that this takes more time to be more effective). The only thing, that I can not buy in Europe ist the BR P 50 1970, because this is banned in Germany, because of the Phenol in it. I am a big fan of BR and normally use lots of their products, but with the P 50 PIGM 400 for pigmentation I do not see any results, although I used it for several years. Can you pleas recommend me another Lotion instead, to tackle pigmentation and give me that "glow"? Thank you very much for all of your videos. I am a big fan 😍. Greetings from Munich. Ute
Let me research some - I actually brought the P50 PIGM 400 on this trip and I like it so much less- but I’m used to the 1970. There are definitely other options though! I’m going to be in Germany next month….where are you? I’m wondering if I should plan a coffee date or something if there are enough people interested 🤔
Thank u for the video! Im 55 with non-sensitive combo oily skin and Ive been using AlphaSkincare 14% glycolic aha serum for years. Ive been wanting to try a sample size of Biologique Recherche.

Would love a video on the difference between pigmentation coming to the surface versus worsening pigment. I have Melasma and it's so scary to see my pigmentation darken, but I have read that's how it comes to the surface. Are there any resources that discuss this?
Yes I would love to know ow the same!!
You are aging backwards, Penn!!! Wow! You look stunning.
I’ve used Paula’s Choice salicylic acid for years to keep the large pores on my nose clear and not so large 😊
I use a glycolic toner every morning and at night I mix it up with using a salicylic toner some nights and a green tea toner some nights and a niacinamide toner other nights.
I’ve been using a glycolic acid toner for 7 months and it really makes my skin brighter. Great video ❤
That’s wonderful!
Thank you, this was really helpful. I have the P50 lotion for anti pigmentation and not really used it. I will now incorporate it into my morning steps, thanks Penny ❤❤
Thanks for the great explanations of the different acids. Very helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
Lol
I’m a longtime fan of Lotion P50 and found that Moon Juice Acid Potion is a very close (more affordable) dupe!
Awesome rundown Penn, thank you. I love and have been using Colleen Rothschild Glycolic pads for years.
Thank you! I alternate glycolic with BHA as I am 63 but extremely oily which is so difficult to navigate!
I'm wondering if it's really worth the $. How long does it last you? Everyone raves about it.
@@Kgiannini1259 I've always bought the largest size and go through about two a year.
Ooooooh now I have to look this up!! I’m so glad it’s working for you!!
Oh wow! I'll have to look into that!@@Angela-September
I've been using Paula's Choice AHA/BHA 10 minute peel monthly or weekly for quite a few years and it really makes my skin look better.
I'm confused. Do we use it before our other skincare in the am? How long do we wait before we apply everything else?😮 57 years old, normal skin, minimal wrinkles around my eyes, very occasionally small dry patches. Please help!!!
Hi there, I show it all in my AM routine, it should help you 💙
This was so helpful! Thank you. 🥰
After watching your most recent AM routine, I ordered the P50 1970. It arrived while I was out of town and will start using it tomorrow AM🤗😍
How do you incorporate this if you are using tretinoin in the PM?
Use it with your morning routine.
Thank you for this podcast Penn! I was confused on which one to use!
Penny your eyelashes look amazing!
They’re Lashify dupes lol
Thank you though!!
Your weight loss…..omg you look so stunning ❤️❤️❤️
I loved how you broke all these down and simplified the differences by skin needs!! Thank you! I've been using a Korean one by Some By Mi. It's an AHA, BHA, PHA. Have you ever heard of it or tested it?
I’m a P50 girl and have tried them all. P50W and P50 PiGM are my go-to’s. Love the info and want to get the Naturium for my sister who struggles with acne and congestion!
I also love tranexamic acid for discoloration, it’s one of my favorite Droplette capsules.
Oh, and Azelaic acid that’s a great gentle acid I love for acne and radiance.
Yes yes yes!
Great info!! I’ve tried the naturium BHA because I’ve heard such great things and after three times of trying it, it’s confirmed that it causes me to break out. I’m so confused as to why but guessing it means it’s not my acid. I have normal to dry skin so I may try the P50 you use.
Thank u for yet another helpful video. My skin has never looked better thanks to ur videos❤
I love to hear this, I’m so happy for you! I hope you have a wonderful rest of your weekend Tammy! 💙
Always love your videos Penny and you are so 'on point' and articulate with your information. I'm trialling AHA BHA PHA 30 Days Miracle Toner and I find it quite gentle on my sensitive skin thanks to its ingredient deck. Lots of love from Kiwiland 🤗
Thank you for the video great information! Your skin looks absolutely amazing!!🖤
Thank you so much!!
I love the Sofie Pavitt Mandelic Clearing Serum. I’m able to use it every morning without any irritation.
I like innisfree’s Volcanic Ash PHA Toner, it’s very gentle but my skin looks brighter
Amazing video. Thank you lovely. Does the ordinary have a lactic acid you'd recommend?
I've used both the 5% and 10% Lactic acid from the Ordinary in the past. I have rosacea, and both were effective but not irritating.
Now using Paulas Choice Mandelic and Lactic toner and really like it. I use Salycilic acid on my chest and back for congestion, and spot treat any face breakouts with Sal acid, as well.
Your neck is flawless, what are your secrets?! ❤
The dang neck is tricky!
can you link the pen you use for your neck and the silicone patches you use for your neck? I have the same issues. :(
Lately I have been seeing a lot of Rice ingredient in moisturizers, toners, serums I want to know if rice has any benefits for the skin, does it work for skin or is it a waste of money to purchase products with rice in it.
Have you ever used an exfoliator from DRMTLGY? And I do add Tretinoin as part of my nighttime routine. I mainly use DRMTLGY products.
Personally I LOVE the LA refining serum from Drmtlgy- it can be layered in the AM if you are using tret at night 😍
@ Thanks so much!
Hi! Thank you so much! I’m so glad to be helpful 💙
I’ll look up the Magelin mask- I haven’t tried that brand yet 😊
Good morning 🌞 I use the ordinary niacinamide 10% plus zinc in the a.m. at the end of my serums.
I use the ordinary lactic acid 10% as my last serum in the p.m.
My face is not dry it’s just normal. If I add one of these which one would you suggest AND where would I put it in my routine?
I am going to see my son will use the Paula’s Choice 2% BHA liquid exfoliants because he does get acne sometimes
Enjoy your journey in life and keep spreading your sunshine
I was wondering if there is something comparable for us you prefer a lactic acid serum or is the toner their best way to go
Thank you for all you do
You look awesome Penny ❤ Any special diet for weight loss?
Yes yes yes!!
I’ve heard amazing things about that Allies of skin mandelic!
Hey Penny, No disrespect to other TH-camrs but your recommendations have never let me down. I trust you. xo, Cowgirl Deb
Thank you! 🥰
You are so kind!! That makes me so happy

Or if I shoukd only.be using one type? 57 year old normal to dry skin ❤❤❤

@@PENNSMITHSKINCARE Is there a Lactic acid that you really like? Thank you so much!! 🤗🙌🏻

I’m 35 and I use the glycolic from the ordinary, how often should I be using it? Everyday? Twice a week?
Please do something on hypo-pigmentation. No-one ever does, they always talk about hyper.
I am actually working on content for hypopigmentation….its a truly tricky subject!!
More to the point; I am wondering if microneedling with a copper peptide would help to balance out the idiopathic guttate hypomelanosis on my arms :) is there any research on this - just an idea. :)
Thank you, so interesting. One question, can you one acid in the morning and a different one at night? TIA
I love the L’Oreal the little red bottle 10% glycolic acid it just makes my skin feel so smooth
I always do my neck 😊 and you are right!
**yes you can use acids on the neck, just watch for irritation.
I always do my neck with my P50 💙
does lactic acid have a scent? i couldn't tolerate the smell of either Paula’s Choice 6% Mandelic Acid & 2% Lactic Acid or AmLactin.
I do a ‘lunch time Peel’ with glycolic acid 30 % every 2-3 weeks 😊
Can I ask the name of your peel . I've been thinkg about trying it but seems pretty scary..How long did it take you to get up to that level?
I’ve decided that I’m going to start doing glycolic peels. What is your downtime like? Do you peel? Thanks for sharing your experience.
Hi Penn, I use the Ordinary glycolic 7% toner and the Saccharomyces Ferment 30% milky toner. ❤
I love the new Ordinary 30% one as well. Its perfect for a hydrating little daily slough off in the morning
Nice! I love saccharomyces ferment so much 😍
Dear Penny, I have a question to you.
I just re-read and saw Munich!
I am living in a small town in the bavarian mountains, called Oberstdorf. It is very small, the next big town is Munich.
I've been using that also. I use it on my body once a week also.
Thank u for the video! Im 55 with non-sensitive combo oily skin and Ive been using AlphaSkincare 14% glycolic aha serum for years. Ive been wanting to try a sample size of Biologique Recherche.
That’s so awesome, perfect choice for you!! I’m so glad it works so well (that’s a GREAT product!!)
Hi Penny
Can you incorporate a glycolic with vitamin C?
Is glycolic the only one shown in studies to thicken skin? If so, what percentage and how many times per week does it need to be used to thicken the skin?
Are you still using the fulvic acid mist? ❤
