    I found one of these by a dumpster about 4 years ago. The beach life guard threw it away because it wouldn’t start, I took it home and rebuilt the carb and replaced the rubber isolated feet. It has worked fine ever since.

    I love my Honda EU 2200 I generator, though as I researched a little more after buying and using it, I should have gotten the Honda EU 2200 I Companion for that $100 more, to have that 30 Amp option.. I may get it next year because I want to pair my generator, and that companion model will be the one I will buy to pair it with.

    1. The newest EU2200i has an hour meter in the bluetooth app so be sure of what you need.
    2. These straight funnels don't really solve anything. They just bring the terrible fill angle outward plus you will overfill even more oil than normal when you fill up the funnel. Skip all of that and just tip the generator back and pour 13.5oz to 14oz of oil directly into the fill oil and then level the generator. Be precise because any excess oil will drain out when you level it.
    3. A useful funnel is a plastic screw-in flexible tube they make for these.

  • @johnwagner5514

    I would’ve drilled a small hole adjacent or mirrored of the pickup wire hole and put the wire through that. Much cleaner job than what that company recommended. Do cha think?

    The companion is great. It offers the 30 amp outlet. But remember running one generator gives you 13 amps, adding the second generator gives you up to 27 amps. So one generator will not give you the 30 amp

    I found that aluminum dipstick and oil change funnel to get very hot when used shortly after running the generator. That's the only downside. It's preferable to drain the oil when it's warm, but then those are hot to the touch. Honestly a hardened plastic version with the magnet would be better.

    Nice!! Not a bad way to spend about $1300 but in the end it's totally worth it, if you ask me. Especially since you'll have a good, reliable generator for years to come. I have the blue one, I've been extremely happy with it. Actually I'm somewhat of a hoarder I have a few generators I have a Champion 3100 inverter, a Yamaha 2000 inverter, three Sportsman gen 1000i's and a tailgator. By far my favorites are the Sportsman's. They're so light and easy to use and they just sip gas.

      Yeah man same here I totally agree with you, that's why I bought the Yamaha as my first Generator, the rest of them I either bought used or on sale, in which the price was too good to let them go. I paid $149 for the Sportsman Generators and I paid $440 for the Champion inverter generator. The Tailgator was $88 and I paid close to a grand for the Yamaha which has been really reliable and it starts everytime I need it.

      Not sure what you're taking about Mr Kovac? The Sportsman IGen 1000s are great little tiny generators they are extremely reliable and always start within the first three pulls they have great reviews everywhere from Amazon, to the Home Depot, and even Target. They've worked great for me, and they're so lightweight and small you can carry them and just throw them anywhere and everywhere you want too.

    Having established and secured the inductor on the plug lead, make a small hole, preferably on the vertical face of the cover close to the locking tab for water resistant purposes, that's sized to accommodate the inductive wire in a suitable rubber grommet or bushing..or, if a suitable grommet is unavailable and the old silicon must be used, make the hole to accommodate the wire. Plug or otherwise fill the hole with red hi temp automotive silicon.
    Push the wire through the hole from the inside of the plug access cover.
    Put the cover back on.
    Cleanly wipe the displaced silicon around the wire where it meets the cover.
    Let everything set and dry.
    Wait until the silicon dries before attaching the wire to the device.
    If, later on, the device must be discarded, the neat hole made in the cover can easily be resealed with a convenient red, black or white rubber plug..or by cleaning the old silicon off and filling the hole with red silicon.
    That's what I'm planning to do with mine.

    You can get a metal bracket that bolts right up to the air cleaner bolts. I stuck the same hour meter to that metal bracket and looks like it was factory installed. I used 3M 2 sided tape. Same generator you have too. I love it but it's not quite enough to run the A/C on my camper.

    • @samhill5231
      @samhill5231 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I know the metal bracket you are referring to and I was going to get one of those but my recently purchased EU2200i has the Cold Climate Technology package so this bracket won't work for me. As per the OP, I don't want to drill holes in my brand new Honda generator either so I am going to do the same method using either two sided tape or velcro like he did, I'm leaning towards the velcro. I had also bought an hour meter (in red BTW), the security handle bracket and BougeRV generator cover for it.

    • @jimdent351
      @jimdent351 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@samhill5231 I live in Southern ON Canada and my EU2200 has the cold climate on it as well. The bracket works just fine on mine. It's a little tight putting the bracket on the first time because the edge of the bracket hits against a foam insulator that the bracket will need to slightly compress in order for it to go on the first time.
      Trust me, I'm a very meticulous person and would have never used the bracket if I had to damage that insulation but it doesn't harm it one bit. I could remove the bracket and the machine looks 100% as it did when it left the factory. Nothing is altered or modified in any way. Buy the bracket. It looks as though it left the factory with it on once you route the wire nicely. I stuck the hour meter to the bracket using 3M 2 sided tape.

    These Honda generators are a great value. I purchased an EU2000I in 2011 for $900 (Black Friday sale) and sold it on Craigslist last week for $700. I used the proceeds towards my new EU2200I. Had I purchased one of those cheap generators it would have been worthless after 8 years.

      More fool you. The 2200i won't run what the 2000i will. Honda reduced the capacity but increased the label. My 2000i runs my Van AC but the 2200i stalls on the same AC.

    • @einfelder8262
      @einfelder8262 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Windsurfingaddict You'd have to ask Honda. All I know is my user field test proved the 2200i won't run an AC that the 2000i runs easily. Perhaps Honda's desire to cut manufacturing costs has led them down the path of marketing spin - you know, put a higher label on a lesser product and the mug consumer will be fooled. After all, there probably aren't too many consumers who can back to back test both models. The owner of the AC that the 2200i failed to run is a 68 year old employee of the Honda dealer, who sold me my 2000i years ago. When it failed, he borrowed mine to check, and my 2000i ran the AC.

    I have a question for you Honda 2200 W generator owners. Are any of you using the 2200 watt Honda generator everyday for off-grid running a heat Source like a heater in the winter for 8 to 10 hours a day with electric blanket or a space heater? I'm pretty sure any of the generators do not like a heat Source crockpot, electric blanket, space heater and more. That is what my Chinese generator company that just blew up told me. I may have to go a Honda on propane if I keep blowing the Chinese 2200 w propane generator up. I ran at 4 months mostly on electric blanket and maybe about a week during the total for months on a space heater some and using it for other things during the day and it died. The motor still runs but it won't make power it kicks in the overload light. Leave me a comment if you're using this everyday and where the heat source. Thanks

    •  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Just to answer you
      using a electric genorater for heat is only 20% efficiency compared to using the same fuel directly for heat.
