I just got a calathea rattlesnake a few weeks ago, and I’m still getting to know her. This video has come at the perfect time! ✨🙌🏾

Your videos just get better and better!! Camera angles, titles, lighting, pacing and always loads of great energy - Woot!!! Two thumbs up. I appreciate how your home looks and feels. Your channel shows you living with your plants in spaces that would make anyone feel comfortable... instead of struggling between racks crammed full of specimens and grow lights, or a kitchen full of botanical babies who take precedence over daily food preparation! (Oh, did I just reveal something about myself?)
Thank you for the inspiration and education ;-)

I’ve had mine for about 2 months. It’s not really growing but I bought a 6 inch pot so I’m not too worried. It may not be getting enough light but I love watching it move.

I’ve had my rattlesnake calathea for many years and it’s far from windows. I water it with distilled water and have never had a problem with it. It is a beautiful large plant. Thanks for the good information.

Thank you so much I just picked up some plants for my office setup and all of this was greatly packaged for me to listen to. I did have a question if you don't mind me asking. I have them planted and have noticed a tiny hole of two in the leafs should I be concerned about this or does the leaf naturally have this happen over time?

I was given a small Rattlesnake Calathea. It wasn’t cared for too well, so it is a bit sad, but I am sure it will be ok. I have placed it in a Terrarium, a GIANT glass jar with a lid. I spared no expense setting it up, drainage layer, mesh barrier, Activated carbon, and home made terrarium mix using high quality materials. The mix is actually quite similar to the mix described in this clip. The terrarium gets quite good indirect light, and it has a small grow light on it. I think (?) the terrarium should provide a good environment for the Calathea as long as I don’t make the soil mix too wet, it should be constantly moist, but not waterlogged because it is high drainage soil and there is a gravel drainage layer underneath. The humidity is high inside, it steams up the glass at night time, and clears during the day. I hope it does well in it’s new home, it is a gorgeous plant. Does anyone have any experience with this plant in a terrarium?

Would I be wrong to assume that this can be applied to the calathea rufibarba? I’m looking to repot it.

I had a rattlesnake plant and it died. I bought another and have had it over three years. it's near, but not next to a window. I'd like to get another, but my office has no windows, but only grow lights. I have several plants in the office that are thriving. What do you think about a rattlesnake plant next to, or a little ways from a grow light? I'd really like to enjoy it, as the one in the house isn't really in the most visible location.

You can probably split it in half. Then you will have 2 plants
