Finally, I found on TH-cam a review of a Skoda Kodiaq with the Ambition trim, the one I bought 3 months ago. I know brands are very interested on showing the full equip version, but sometimes is interesting to show the medium
@@dragospahontu I think it is. The gear changes are fast and smooth once you're driving, but it's also true that this gearbox it's a bit abrupt on parking maneuvers and starting off.

i have been (wrongly) criticizing your reviews in past . I was wrong . You do the deepest and most involving reviews here on the tube . You took long time , full reviews , detailed but also "feeling" of driving . I have had to change my mind on your channel, and it was a big revelation. You are very professional indeed .
In my opinion this is the best SUV i have seen up to now.. BMW X-Series ,AUDI Q-Series,MERCEDES GL,GLK-Series VOLVO SUV series,Cayanne,VW SUV series probably all those brands cost twice than this one, But definitely this one is more reliable probably cheaper to maintain and more classic and looks just fantastic..
Mate, this was a fantastic review. I'm 90% sure on a Kodiaq now. I thought there might be one or two decent reviews on YT but an hour and a half from a German?? And then another 45 mins of mud-plugging off road from a Brit?? No need to go beyond Autogefühl. I'm new to Autogefühl (I know...how can that even happen, right?) but now you've got me. Good work, guys and Grüß aus London.
Great, ive been waiting for this patiently since i saw your reply to a comment about it. Ive been very impressed with Skoda lately and i think they will become even more popular than they already are!
Another INCREDIBLE review! Well done mate.. this will 100% be my next car (I was 50/50 with the Ateca but I really need the extra space that the Kodiaq has to offer..). You won't believe how much I appreciate you telling us the materials used (often in Italy car resellers are not sure about them!) because as a Vegan is so important for me to have (as much as possible!) a sustainable and cruelty free solution. Keep up the GREAT work and thank you so much for another awesome video.
I really love to hear that. We often have a hard time when the manufacturers wont believe us when we say this is important for the customer, so even more important that you give us this feedback!
Really appreciate all the details Thomas and team are providing in the reviews (on top of what you can expect from a great review that is): color choices, different trim levels, optional extras. For me who spend a great deal of time before selecting which car to buy these kinds of reviews are priceless!
The most detailed and useful car review on internet as usual! You have very pleasant voice, Thomas! I like to listen to your reviews and they are by far the most useful in terms of how to really get to know a reviewd car.
Thanks for showing so many detail and different trims. This is the best kind of car tests if you vary between choosing another engine/trim level and it not possible to try all of it. Greetings from Poland!
How exactly does it look better? From the front it looks like a chinese copy of RR Evogue/Discovery Sport with combination of Jeep front grill, from the back it looks like an ugly 3D copy of Ford Kuga and the key word is ugly... and all that at 50000 euros bitte.
€50.000? The top edition 4x4 2.0 TDI 184bhp 7 speed DSG can be had for as little as €39.000 if I'm not mistaken. That's €11.000 or an entire Skoda Fabia less than €50.000
Massis do you really believe that this car can sell at higher price than the Tiguan Highline 2L TDI DSG as that car is currently priced under 37000 euros and has more extras and better build quality than Kodiaq? im not saying that Kodiaq is a bad car, Im hust saying that it is pointless to bring new cars to the market where there are already serious players such as Hyundai SantaFe which are better priced and have a good reputation for a decade. For Kodiaq to be successful it has to be priced correctly but greediness will destroy VAG....
Ah, the full review I was waiting for. I was curious about this car and I thought: When is Thomas going to review this car? Autogefühl most definitely sets a standard of car reviewing.
Excellent detail and comprehensive Review as usual - many thanks Thomas & Katherina. Some very good forward views on driving part. Good cat work at 19:37! Can't seem to tell spec of UK Kodiaqs yet because Skoda site does not have details of extras. I like the rear side window shades! And the light coloured interior lifts it. Like you Thomas, I have found DCC is great on MQB. "Comfort" is good for low speed work in town etc, and "Normal" and "Sport" good for agile or sporty drive if required. With the Kodiaq you can get a great car with lots of family space. Personal taste, I prefer the more compact Tiguan, that has more than enough space for us. Don't change Thomas!

Thanks a lot Thomas ! What an astonishing and wonderful review ! I'm glad to see that the 1.4 TSI 150 hp seems to have enough power even full loaded on the motorway. Keep on doing your spectacular reviews ! Thanks a lot to all the Autogefühl team !
Very, very nice review Thomas. Really packed with information. You are putting Full Length to another level with this one. :D I like the Kodiaq. It could possibly be the only car you'll ever need. I was amazed about the quantity of room at the back. Much bigger cars aren't that spacious. I know you are getting bombarded with requests but Autogefühl Forum would be nice thing to have.
coolsdon you are absolutely right. I've driven more than 100000 in my superb. Only changed the windshield wipers and brakes. Might get this one next :)
Vincent Richard I don't intend to drive that many miles in my car. I'm sure that there are taxi drivers out there that can give you a 500000 km report.
Excellent review Thomas. Because Kodiak is a bigger compact SUV, I would go for the Kodiak 4x4 Version with DSG and 2.0 TDI 190 hp. That's my favourite choice, but speaking about interior, I would go for the Ambition trim level with cloth seats, navigation system , DCC, Pedestrian Monitoring system, Blind Spot Detection, Adaptive cruise control, Front assist and emergency brake. Thomas what can you tell me comparing the Tiguan with Kodiak, about the ground clearance because Tiguan has already an offroad version. How is it the ground clearance on Kodiak in offroad?
Some impressions of the Columbus and MIB3 after my first Kodiaq week.. I have been driving 3 years with my VW Tiguan 2019 with mib2...And I gotta say that Im a bit surprised that mib 3 have less function than mib 2 on the Columbus navigation system... Besides the lack of function to import personal POI..(which exist and work perfectly in mib 2) the mib 3 Columbus also lack the "View in View" function that would open a separate window when turning of highway or similar and shows the road signs really clear (and yes that also worked perfect in mib 2) In general I can now say after a few days driving that the Columbus mib 3 have been stripped of some functions that gave good info in mib 2...Like when your closing up to a departure your view in view window would show you more info leading up to the departure.. The mib 3 Columbus simply shows an arrow pointing in the direction that you shall turn off to and the name of the new road..Which could be good enough I suppose... But the thing is that - that is the way it looked on the first portable navigator I purchased some 15 years ago... So in my meaning if you develop mib 3...you will get mib 2...a bit strange to me... Having said all that mib 3 have some new things...like that you can set the cruise control to follow the speed on the road signs (so you don't need speed cams right...) however driving today testing that it was rather good for a while..until it didn't work at all since the maps in my Kodiaq (picked up new last week) seem to be to old so the speed on the roadsigns are simply wrong in the navigator...But I like the thought thou so if they get the maps correct that seem like a useful function... Also the big thing in mib 3 is wireless android auto/apple CarPlay...And to me that's actually the only thing I would like to keep from mib 3...so give me that in mib 2 and I would be a happy camper... And in the end it comes down to that when I buy a new car..and know that the high end navigator have been updated to a new platform..I actually expect it to be able to do ALL that the old one was capable of...and then some...(why else update??) I also expect it to be more capable then my 8 year old portable Garmin (which it is not at the moment...) But hey that's just me... However I don't understand why VW/Skoda have gone this way. Even though I have seen some theories that VW/Skoda does not want to spend money developing the nav systems so they would like people to get hooked on google maps/waze/apple maps or similar...but who know... I must say Im rather disappointed on the mib Columbus for the reasons above... Other then that Im really happy about the Kodiaq as such..great car.. Take Care All and Have a great new year.. Best regards Micael
Great review! I absolutely love your videos! Very detailed, and the host is so relaxingly pleasant to watch 😊 Just the right amount of geeky, professional with a personal touch - These videos are my go-to when I need to relax :D Don't ever change!
Thomas what a detailed review!! Excellent!! I am seriously considering of buying the 2.0 TDI 4X4 - 7 seats edition! Would you suggest to buy the DSG or manual one?? Thank you!!
A very comprehensive video, Thomas! The Kodiaq is an amazing vehicle, I bet you enjoyed reviewing it yourself. I'm quite impressed by how quiet and slick the manual gearbox is, you just don't hear it shifting. I prefer the manual any day, as long as they offer them. How come you prefer automatic, Thomas? I've driven automatics in the US. I miss the clutch and the shifting, doesn't feel like real driving. Opinions welcome! Thanks, Cheers, Govind
Very-very useful, clever and good cut review! Thanks for that. It was really a joy to follow you driving. Oh yeah and the car: I want one! It's so practically built beside being comfortable and premium feel that sounds very well balanced in summary. Hmm...
That 1.4TSI is rather thirsty engine, I know that it is big heavy car but 11l ? It perfectly shows that downsizing doesnť work, it could have the same consumption with 2.0l petrol engine. Nice car and review anyway.
Hi Thomas.....a very good review indeed. Can you please advice me which car is better and why according to you between Kodiaq and Tiguan Allspace (Tsi/dsg).... Plz do suggest....thanks
Hey thomas, for a while there you had in the description an option to skip to specific times in the review (exterior, interior etc..) It was very comfortable, please bring it back.
Maybe. only the statistics will tell. But It's where to wind blows, most people don't watch everything all the way through, so those points just make the content easier to consume.. Once again only your stats and analytics will tell, but I feel it's way, way more comfortable.
Hi Thomas....first of all really a gr8 review....best in the class. Now if you could please advice me in two things...i am 50-50 with Tiguan Allspace and Kodiaq 1.4 150hp petrol. What would you buy and why? I personally prefer better driving dynamics....i have tried skoda and seems fine....but Allspace not yet available to test. And secondly which is better in the 3rd row...?? Thanks a lot in advance and really looking forward for your reply.
It's a beautiful SUV! The design is perfect! I love that 2.0 l engine is powerful! But there is definitely not enough space in the third row of seats.... I would buy it for only 5 passengers.... It will be a success in Germany and Europe... I look forward to it being offered in the USA.. Skoda must sell in North America. 150,000 units guaranteed.
Hi Thomas, great to see a review of the Kodiaq! It would be great if you'd film a bit more without using a tripod. Especially for the trunk it's hard to see the depth if the image is static.
Why isn’t the 2.0 TDI 150PS 4x4 version of the Kodiaq with 7 seats and a manual gearbox certified for towing like its DSG equivalent? How come Škoda decided NOT to to certify that version for towing?
What DCC mode corresponds to the default Kodiaq suspension without DCC please? Given the choice I want the laziest, most comfortable ride possible as most of my miles will be on the motorway. So is it the case that the comfort mode on DCC is more comfortable / soft than the default suspension? Thanks.
I've tested Kodiaq with DCC and I am not buying the car without it. The comfort mode is a little bit stiffer than suspension of Grand Scenic (previous edition) but Kodiaq still rides better.
Hi Thomas, I really enjoyed the Skoda Kodiaq review, very well done, as always. Thank you! Did Skoda incorporate the second rearview mirror in the Kodiaq, which allows the driver to look at children sitting behind? They started it with the Superb recently - another Simply Clever solution - and I would be surprised if they left it out with the Kodiaq. One comment to the video - when you explain the ESC and engine lights on the dash, when the camera focuses on the dash, the seat belt sign is red, but the other camera shows you wearing the seat belt (which is very good), no big deal, just a slight discrepancy. The seat belt sign can't be red when the driver is wearing the seat belt. :-) The video was really superb, I was just nitpicking. :-) Keep them coming! Best regards, Govind
thanks! Good question not sure if the 2nd mirror is on option list. Haha yeah it filmed the lights in the instruments later as the action cam didnt catch the engine light as the steering wheel was blocking =)
What a fantastic review!! Kudos to Thomas. Now will wait for pricing in India, planned in Q4. If post tax price remains here also in 25K/30K € range, Kodiaq will easily churn out 36 to 40k per year volume. Keep my finger crossed!
Very informative review again, thanks Thomas! One can see here that Kodiaq might start to beat Audi Q5 and Q7 as soon as it gets more powerful engines.

In general I can now say after a few days driving that the Columbus mib 3 have been stripped of some functions that gave good info in mib 2...Like when your closing up to a departure your view in view window would show you more info leading up to the departure..
And in the end it comes down to that when I buy a new car..and know that the high end navigator have been updated to a new platform..I actually expect it to be able to do ALL that the old one was capable of...and then some...(why else update??)
I also expect it to be more capable then my 8 year old portable Garmin (which it is not at the moment...)
But hey that's just me...

Very detailed, and the host is so relaxingly pleasant to watch 😊 Just the right amount of geeky, professional with a personal touch - These videos are my go-to when I need to relax :D
Don't ever change!
+JB awesome to hear! We really appreciate this :)
41:10 I Think it's the steering wheel hitting the plastic (where it Connects). My Golf does the same.
could be, I ll test it in other MQB cars !
***** Yeah okay. It's annoying, but can be fixed by unscrewing it and putting the steering column back together yourself. :)
The only thing that this review miss is view on chassis. :-) Great job!
=)
Thomas what a detailed review!! Excellent!! I am seriously considering of buying the 2.0 TDI 4X4 - 7 seats edition! Would you suggest to buy the DSG or manual one?? Thank you!!
cheers! DSG is more comfy definitely
@@autogefuehl thank you!!!
@@stergiossaraidaris3625 is DSG7 DQ200 0CW good?
wow. when best thing to compare how great space in škoda is, is another škoda, that i call job superbly done.
Thanks, Cheers, Govind
cheers!
Well automatic is just more comfortable :)
Very-very useful, clever and good cut review! Thanks for that. It was really a joy to follow you driving. Oh yeah and the car: I want one! It's so practically built beside being comfortable and premium feel that sounds very well balanced in summary. Hmm...
+János Szabó 👍
Really great review! It's actually perfect.
+AsmundSO 👍👍
That 1.4TSI is rather thirsty engine, I know that it is big heavy car but 11l ? It perfectly shows that downsizing doesnť work, it could have the same consumption with 2.0l petrol engine. Nice car and review anyway.
Also compare the smaller brother Skoda Karoq: th-cam.com/video/sFtisw88uN8/w-d-xo.html
Hi Thomas.....a very good review indeed.
Can you please advice me which car is better and why according to you between Kodiaq and Tiguan Allspace (Tsi/dsg)....
Plz do suggest....thanks
we bought seat leon xp thanks to your awesome review.
this car is cool as well - thanks for the great work reviewing it!
thanks for the feedback, enjoy your nice car :)
Thomas, did you miss the second glovebox? It is on top of the cooled one with a separate opening.
ah yeah, I opened it at the world premiere but not here
Hey thomas, for a while there you had in the description an option to skip to specific times in the review (exterior, interior etc..)
It was very comfortable, please bring it back.
hey Tom, I felt like this is a means of skipping half of the video and thus our work is for nothing...
Maybe. only the statistics will tell.
But It's where to wind blows, most people don't watch everything all the way through, so those points just make the content easier to consume..
Once again only your stats and analytics will tell, but I feel it's way, way more comfortable.
you can never really find out as all views are being mixed :)

+Kapil Aidasani both are quite alike. I d check the offer u get each
It's a beautiful SUV! The design is perfect! I love that 2.0 l engine is powerful! But there is definitely not enough space in the third row of seats.... I would buy it for only 5 passengers.... It will be a success in Germany and Europe... I look forward to it being offered in the USA.. Skoda must sell in North America. 150,000 units guaranteed.
such an excellent long in depth review. EXCELLENT!
thanks and spread the word for us !
Proper in depth video.
Thomas, if you would have young kids, would you still prefer beige alcantara seats?
A good review as always especially the measurement part, please do the measurement for all the reviews if possible.
Hi Thomas,
I really enjoyed the Skoda Kodiaq review, very well done, as always.
The video was really superb, I was just nitpicking. :-)
Keep them coming!
Best regards,
Govind
thanks! Good question not sure if the 2nd mirror is on option list. Haha yeah it filmed the lights in the instruments later as the action cam didnt catch the engine light as the steering wheel was blocking =)
Super Video gute Arbeit Autogefühl ✌🏻️✌🏻️👏🏼👏🏼👍🏻👍🏻👈🏻
danke ! =)
what more needed...the best review video ever...GREAT WORK .. :)
+jerin das 🙏🙏
Very good review, as usual. Keep up with good work, greetings from Croatia.
thanks and greetings!
Perfect review, thank you guys, really great job!
thanks man join more of our reviews!
What a fantastic review!! Kudos to Thomas. Now will wait for pricing in India, planned in Q4. If post tax price remains here also in 25K/30K € range, Kodiaq will easily churn out 36 to 40k per year volume. Keep my finger crossed!
thanks and wish u the best!
Was waiting for this and i must say well done!
thanks and spread the word for us !
Very informative review again, thanks Thomas! One can see here that Kodiaq might start to beat Audi Q5 and Q7 as soon as it gets more powerful engines.
thanks ! yeah definitely a clever choice
