Bought one for my wife as a stop gap following a disastrous Mercedes A class purchase, here I am 8 years later now using it as my own daily driver for work. It’s taking a hammering now but is perfect for all the stop start driving I have to do and I can park it in tiny spaces my 7 seater wouldn’t fit. £120 per year insurance, zero tax, cheap parts and easy to service. Repair cost in 8 years = one new battery, £40, new seat belt £30. New interior door handle , £12.
Great video. I've got a 107, not only are they a hoot to drive (like a street legal go-kart) but they're simple to work on and parts are pocket money prices. Next time you have that rear bumper off sort the gaskets on the vents on the back panel. Yours look shot and are a notorious water entry point into the rear wheel well.
Thanks for the great comment ! Yea they are superb, im gona hopefully have the rear bumper off soon to do the paint so will sort the vents then as u say they are shot lol, thanks again ! 👍👍👍👍
I just bought a 2011 Citroen C1 for £1,000. Full MOT, Full service history. Cracking little car! Rev them out in the long gears, and they're nowhere near as slow as some people will claim. That's a bargain you have right there. And working on these is so simple. I bought a new clutch for £36 and fitted it in two hours. Mine has no CL or EW either - these are the ones to go for! Lighter and less to go wrong in such a basic car. I wanted an early model with no PAS but couldn't find one. Love your channel, and natural, laid back style. Hoping to see your subs count grow and grow!
Hi, Thanks so much for the great comment !! Im really pleased you like your c1 they are so much fun as you say ! Im very happy you like the channel too thanks so much ! Regards MEC 👍👍👍👍
I picked one of these up for a friend he bought for he’s daughter, I drove it back 30 miles. For a 1.0 engine it handled motorways speeds effortlessly. They are surprisingly Spacious
Best regards from Germany and thank you for the Video :-) We have 5 of this Cars in Our Family and i make all the Services self and so my Children save a lot of money and i have a lot of fun ;-) There ar not many repair videos for 107/108, C1 and Aygo in Germany, so i look often to UK TH-cam learn a lot. However thank you very much!
I've just picked up a 107 for a first car, and after 2 days I noticed the previous owner had a rubber mat and a fabric mat in the rear foot well, and the floor was soaked, also had rattly hubcaps, so I bought a full set of new seals from x8r online, and some new hubcaps, and seems to have done the trick, runs like a dream, really pleased with it, it's a great little first car!
Got one of these recently as I have to sadly sell my fiesta due to this stupid ULEZ zone extension. Very cheap to run and very reliable. I used to have the Peugeot 107 as my first car and can agree
@@mec-tec I saw the fiesta! Nice, my own MK2 was too knackered, but bought a nice mk3 and had that for 20 years, sold it, needed power steering, but still in superb condition
I've got a 107 5 door same colour had it 3 years now it's so reliable wouldn't part with it always starts 1st time irrespective of weather so simple to do any repairs and parts are so cheap never fails an MOT it's my best friend 😅
I was nervous going from an Alfa 147 jtd to a cheap 1l city car but ended up really enjoying my 58 Aygo Platinum. Aircon and alcantara seats are a nice extra. 50mpg if I'm lead footed.
It is great around town, which is why I chose it. Lightly loaded, it's fine at 70-80mph (120-135kph). Struggles a bit fully loaded, but then just use the revs...it's all part of the fun.
@@mec-tec Well, yes, in your case it would cost more than the cars costed you. 🙂 But if one buys it for a few thousand, and does or plans to do quite a bit of miles, it's probably worth it, the economy in fuel cost is about 50%. Depends on how many miles one does or plans to do, really.
Hi yes 650 pounds, i paid £400 for the car £196 insurance and £20 road tax, i was very lucky to find it at this price, it was up for more money but i got it cheaper as it needed a lock set, and the paint on the bumpers is peeling which i will be fixing in an upcoming video 👍👍👍
I Like how you get mot garages over doing it on advisorys, just to hopefully make loads a money out of you, on silly things, rust on springs, it makes me laugh how perthetic they are, rust on springs, if you just sand it down a bit and put any old paint on it, now it is so much stronger, and not on the next mot, mot tests are a joke, nice car for that price, the guy wouldn't have sold it if it wasn't for all the over the top adviser's, i could do better mot's, myself, it's so silly, is the car safe, yes or no, not you have a small oil leak, they have gone mad 🤔
Yes the previous mot tester was a little ott, the mot i have just had done was alot more down to earth and resonable, its a great little car, thanks for the comment 👍👍👍

Brilliant ! Yea they are great ! They do a race series called the citycar cup, im very tempted ! 😆👍
@@mec-tec Have you seen bad obsession motorspor?. They built and raced one.

Good old fashioned fixing than just buying all new 👍 I have a MK2, makes a change from decades of early fiestas
Hi thanks for the great comment ! 👍 I will always try and repair stuff before i get new, always worth a go i say, I have a mk2 fiesta 😆😆
@@mec-tec I saw the fiesta! Nice, my own MK2 was too knackered, but bought a nice mk3 and had that for 20 years, sold it, needed power steering, but still in superb condition
Awesome ! Some of the late mk3s had PAS, I had an RS1800 with it, think they are a bit few and far between though
@@mec-tec serviceability too, getting parts taking much longer , needed a regular car for my 10-15 miles a week 😂. Was a 1.3lx 5 door,

Wish you could get them for £400 now! Rare to see one less than a grand on facebook now, the place has gone mad.
Yes your deffo right there mate ! 👍👍👍
I just paid 1750 for a 2009 aygo with 110k prices are mad but I was desperate for a car
£650? They go for atleast 2000 in the netherlands. 2-3k because its really populair i think
Hi yes, there are bargains to be had over here in the UK, newer ones do go for more but the older ones like this are a very good buy 👍👍👍
How's the caviler
Hi mate, ive not done anymore to it since the last video, its waiting in the que to be done 👍👍
Have you had any boot and door leaks ?
Hi, no i havnt as yet but i did notice when i had my rear bumper off that i need to reseal the vents in the rear panel 👍
what a palava bud
That's not a car, that's a rollerskate!
Haha, gem calls it the Rollerskate ! 😂😂
Maybe, but a pretty frugal and reliable rollerskate...
By the way, by converting it to LPG, it will consume so much less.
Thats a good tip, it would cost more than i paid for the car to convert though and i get 50mpg from it which i think is superb 👍👍
