Worked only immediately after installation, can't connect after that. Did you face similar issue? Connecting via USB
@@glagarwal Hello, yes, it only works back up again after you turn the car on and off again. Sometimes it ill work for like 10 mins then freeze. Other times itll work perfectly. It is very glitchy! But most of the time works. I found closing ALL your apps prior to connecting helps and not messing with the phone while you are connected. Hope this helps

Worked perfectly on my 2018 Yaris IA, installed: no more disclaimer, touchscreen while driving and android auto. Over a week using it and so far everything works!

Buddy it worked 💪 you have to restart the mazda infotainment system every now & then as it sometimes doesn't connect to anroid Auto.
But it works 100% after that. I'm impressed

This actually worked! I'm loving the AA! I did every step by step instructions you did in the video. At first I thought I bricked it after using AA for the first time. I turned everything off while AA was running. I double tapped the Start button, and I could not go pass the default menu and everything froze. Keep in mind I have yet to turn the engine on the whole time since I installed AA. Then waited about 20 mins because I was doing research to how to uninstall and go back to factory settings. Came back to my car and turned the engine on and everything was back to normal! AA worked perfectly with the knob, Google assistant works with car voice promt button, and the back button worked in the menu for Google maps, Waze, Pandora, Google Music and I'm sure on Spotify as well. Keep in mind you have to keep your phone plugged in to the car the whole time while using AA via USB port. I did not know about that part.
So AA doesn't work wireless by bluetooth connection? That's a big drawback compared to other manufacturers.

Could you the backup of the original android auto that came with the car before doing this? and if something error occurs, how to do reverse the system?
It also works on my 2017 Toyota Yaris IA with system OS start with 55!! However, make sure you have a GOOD cable. So far it only works when I use the original cable.

@@petergarcia4078 yup, it will show the Mazda logo instead of Toyota (which is not a bad thing, haha).
If AA doesn't shows up after you connect your phone, you can try connecting it with the cable that come with your phone's package.The best buy manufactured cable also work on my car. Just don't use any cheap cable from Amazon.
P.S. Sometime the screen will turn completely black but the system is still running (you can hear the sound and all the controls are still working), especially after you switch from R to D. Seems like it is because the computer doesn't have enough RAM to run AA. If that happen, you need to disconnect your phone and do a hard reset. I would recommend you only run 1 to 2 apps at one time.
@@nearyung6052 thank you for such a quick reply! i have a C-port car charging cable from verizon that ive been using since i got the car (its not a USB to C-Port its one of those chargers you plug into the "cigarette burner" volt) i hope that makes sense lol. will that still work?

Get to the usb in the car but my touching the screen will not allow me to hit the yes to start the download. the finger touch screen is not functioning. Can you help?
Nicely done video. Though one question, how long should it take to compile? Seems like it's taking forever. Says "Compiling...Please Wait....Files for ssh_bringback copied successfully!" Is it done with compiling all files or not?
Update: had a bunch of options selected, then reduced it to the basics you had chosen in the video and it finished in seconds.
It works pretty well. Though the usb port doesn't quite provide enough power if doing anything other than simply trying to recharge your phone (at least for Android).

Mazda dealer will do this for 350e. Considering the hardware is 100-200e not too bad.

Please help it will not let me click, yes go on, but will let me control the head unit. Prompt wont go away or do anything so I have to factory reset it to restart it all over again just to run into the same issue again

I installed way more tweaks onto my Mazda like a custom theme, custom background, and stuff like no reverse disclaimer, menu layout change, and the screen cast mod, and have had no problem. If you follow the steps accordingly and do your research on different Mazda forums on Reddit or mazda3revolution then you should encounter no problems

Would you recommend doing this to install android on mazda that had 5 years of extended warranty left ( thereby voiding it ) OR just pay genuine mazda dealership 500 bucks to install android auto and keep warranty

I have a m6 2016 but as far as i know you need to have a usb unit that is compatible in your car and not all Mazda have it otherwise it wont work or am i wrong?

My assumption is android auto WON'T be connected if the phone is connected via USB wireless vent charger, And it have to be connected _directly_ to phone

I don't understand a thing: this tweak still need to upgrade the harware with usb-port connection for android auto/carplay or use the standard one usb port?
This tweak doesn't need the upgraded usb ports, but is not recommended as this tweak is not official and I don't know if it's compatible anymore with the latest android auto version/mzd connect-software. You're better off installing the upgraded USB ports (the new hardware) that supports android auto/carplay, much more reliable and stable. Be careful that you need to check if your mzd-software has the supported version (for android auto/carplay) before installing the new usb ports! (see guides online) Or go to your mazda dealer. (recommended)

I'm on Version 51.00.xxx. Can I install AA anyways or do I need to update my Infotainment System? And if so, how do I do that by myself and is it easy? Is it even possible without contacting support?

So this works with the existing USB connection and you don't have to replace it in your arm console? This is awesome. I used to be an android guy, but now we have iphones. I definitely miss being able to customize things so much with android. Wish their was a carplay option. I really dont want to go through the trouble of doing the new wiring for car play support on my 2016 CX-9 Sport.

Yes, only one USB can run Android Auto.
The new plastic peace has a smartphone symbol with an arrow… And you get a one hour long update.

for some reason my AA doesnt launch after I go into reverse. Also the map direction glitches and reroutes all the time which is annoying. figured it works if I plug in my phone when Im driving which discards the glitch. has anyone got this problem?

So I had a weird thing happen. The dialog box popped up but I couldn't press anything. It just did not recognize my touch. So I pulled out the USB drive hoping to be able to start over. Probably should have turned off the car first, but I didn't. Now the yes or no popup is stuck on my screen and I can't get rid of it. Help?
For anyone experiencing this problem, you just need to turn off the car for about an hour and it will go away on its own.

1) we don’t know for sure the details of Mazda’s Android Auto release. Could be August for Europe, could be next year. 2) it could require a paid dealer upgrade or be limited to certain models or years. 3) rumor is that Mazda’s AA doesn’t support touchscreen.
Try looking on mazda3revolution.com for firmware files when it comes out.
