- In this episode of The Simpsons Theory, I break down the 2007 film, The Simpsons movie, I'll be giving you some behind the scenes facts, and yes, even count some kills.

The fact that I forgot Colin existed before watching this video after watching the simpsons movie twice really shows how much of a character he really was

I actually remember Marge and Lisa discussing him more than l do Colin himself.
Colin appears near the area they do the protest and near the end of the movie Milhouse just lets Colin have Lisa he’s pretty much only in the movie 3 times sorta

The main reason I watch this movie is because of the scene where Bart skates to Krusty Burger, and the song "Spider-Pig". Also, “I like men now”.

@@TheSimpsonsTheory Back in the early days of TH-cam, I had edited a video called "The Best of Ralph Wiggum" with his best moments. I remember after the movie doing another edit just to include "I Like Men Now." It did indeed get a huge laugh in the theater.
Colin not showing up in the show is even weirder when you realize he was voiced by series regular Tress MacNeille and not an expensive guest star like you'd expect for a character who only appeared in a movie.
It was interesting to find out that the test audience, of which my dad was a part of, got to see a new look for Colin each scene to figure out which was the best one. I would have loved to see the other looks they were thinking of

The day I went to see The Simpsons Movie was my luckiest day ever not only because I was super excited to see the movie but because I dodged fatality. I went to see the movie on the same day the I-35 bridge collapsed in Minneapolis. My family and I were driving on that bridge 30 minutes before the collapse on the way to the movie theater. I'll never forget that day...
Wow. That's incredible!
The movie was very homer-centric perhaps one focusing on Bart and Lisa and Sideshow Bob as an unlikely ally.

I remembered when the simpsons movie was coming out seven elevens in my area turned into kiwi marts as part of a promotion for the movie and been a fan of the show I loved it

I was so happy when they brought Dr. Nick back. He's one of my favorite characters in the show and it's always a treat when he's on screen. Was sad to think he was gone for so long

If I didn't know any better, I would have easily picked up a shotgun to kill all the bats that caused COVID-19 in a similar style to how Homer squashed those bugs in that Treehouse of Horror time-traveling short.

Yeah I was 1 year old when the movie came out. I turned 2 on 7th August 2007 and the release date was on 26th June 2007, so I was nearly 2 years old.
Can’t believe the movie was released after 18 seasons and we’re right now on season 32! We’ve waited almost just as long for a sequel as we did for the first one

I was surprisingly shocked to see The Simpsons pull a Family Guy, as Marge said “Somebody throw the g*ddamn bomb!” I wonder how the theater reacted to that 😂😭😭😂
There is also an Episode where someone else tries to trap them under a Dome and they stated that they had this scenario already
This Movie was immensely amazing. They should indefinitely do a sequel.

I remember seeing this movie in theatre. I was 12 and it was great. I'm 25 now nearly 26. Wow time flies.... I'll be getting pet pigs soon. I kinda wanna name one Spider Pig.

Sequel idea: Homer gets promoted at work, he accidentally blows up the plant so they need a new source of money. The family then leaves their house to travel around the country looking for work, accidentally stumbling upon a secret spy agency. They discover America's privacy is at stake, so they do all they can to get the word out. They are held captive by the agency themselves, and need to escape. When they do, they find their house has been taken away and have to live in Patty and Selma's apartment, where Marge convinces them to help The Simpsons get back on their feet.
*I don't know what should happen after this, but that's my idea*

I know theyr'e non-canon but could you please do a spotlight video on the bongo comics stories? was a big part of growing up in the UK(2000s) and being a fan of the series (still have a tidy stack, no Mylar unfortunately) and it doesn't have any decent quality coverage on the internet.

My favorite childhood memory is that me and my Dad used to watch the Simpsons every evening and on my 8th birthday I got the CD of the movie from him and that was the best birthday present ever ! The Simpsons where always our thing because my mom didn’t found them that funny

Watching this movie the first time was really something. My dad was the type to take us out to ANY movie in theaters if it was animated. No one in our family had ever even watched an episode of the show.
Was very satisfying rewatching the movie after watching the show now that the characters and inside jokes made more sense.

@@srstriker6420 Wouldn't have worked, he'd have been too easy for the audience to root for and also in keeping with his character, he'd help Homer and fam leave and then pay for them to stay in the biggest, most swish mansion in Alaska, or really anywhere they wanted because at the end of the day, he saw Homer as his friend not employee.

@@srstriker6420 that would make sense, though it would make the movie one big tree house of horror segment since I don't remember if those two are canon outside of those episodes. i could be wrong as it's been a long time since I sat down and watched the simpsons rather then just putting it on in the background while i do something else.

I've had a copy of the movie on DVD for many years, but never got around to watching it . Seeing your video I decided it was time I finally watch it. I had already actually seen bits of it and also heard about bits of it. I enjoyed it glad I finally
I was impressed how many of your own videos you managed to connect the movie to in this video.
I bet if you really tried you could connect the movie to all of your previous videos. For example there was a case of doubles of the Simpsons showing up when the Simpsons are at a convenience store with a wanted poster for the Simpsons on it, which Bart defaces by drawing mustaches on and the like making the wanted poster look identical to the Simpsons doubles who turn up at that moment. It's all connected. However I imagine drawing every possible connection between the movie and your videos would get tedious for everyone eventually...

For me, I want to see a sequel where instead of focusing on homer the movie focuses on the simpsons family and each one has a role to play,the plot can be whatever the writers want but I'm really hoping that they make the movie a cinematic juggernaut and a lot longer then the original.
Back when the movie came out my father and his brothers went to see the movie. when homer called everyone an idiot for paying to watch something you could just watch at home, my father's brother "monu" said to the others "he's right" and left the cinema right there right then. He still hasn't finished the movie to this day.
This is technically a Disney classic now 😹

I loved this movie as a kid, granted I wasn’t allowed to watch it for a while but I found ways around that lol. I’m not sure what the premise should be if they made a sequel but I definitely want something more along the lines of earlier Simpsons episodes.

I want to see a sequel with Lisa as the main protagonist with a plot focusing on her anxiety over her rivalry with Allison and how Harrison Ford can teach her how to be brave by acting like she’s not afraid, which is similar to the plot of “The Secret Life Of Pets 2.”
Would be interesting, but I just can't stand seeing Lisa on modern Simpsons for too long.

The TV adaptation of Under the Dome actually ended up taking a lot of inspiration from The Simpsons Movie, for example Joe, Norrie & Angie’s “pink stars are falling” seizures were clearly based on Grampa’s church prophecy.

Actually the early design of Russ Cargill is in the movie's DVD in the deleted scenes. It is the same scene with the president but with the older design :)

My mom took me to see the Simpsons Movie when I was 5 soon to be 6 in July. Yeah, in June 2007, 5 year old me got to see this movie, and I loved it!
Fun fact in the beginning of the movie once you get to Burns Manor you can see the stone cutters daycare next to it

I think Colin could be related to cletus because they look quite similar and Colin sounds like call in so he could be a receptionist or a worker at kbbl because people call in for both of those
