All my homies hate the Londoners. Though looking back, I am surprised by how much I actually hated them. Think I found my real life weak spot - people giving up in the face of adversity pisses me off like nothing else. I could see myself making different policy decisions if the hatred were not there.
@@Sean-vf7bd If you mean real life, it's virtually impossible, considering the baseline temperature of outer space is 2.7K, and our planet is unlikely to ever reach even close to that temperature with our proximity to the sun, and the Earth having a relatively large amount of latent heat trapped both within itself and in the atmosphere. Even a planet as far out as Uranus only reaches temperatures around 49K.
Tyler: "We have freedom of speech here" Also Tyler 10 seconds later: Sends the guards to beat up the civilians people whenever the Londoners try to speak
"Frost protest" Tyler:"I cant do anything about it" Also Tyler: Ignoring the Bunkhouse upgrade since the first episode and continue to put everyone in frigging tents.
My biggest concern with your settlement is that everyone you have is in a tent bunkhouses will increase your housings temperatures plus assigning your automation
@Tanmay Jain There's an additonal three Heat Levels Tyler could get out of researching the housing branch in the Food, Health & Shelter research tree: Bunkhouses at tech 2 and Houses at tech 3, the latter of which can be made cheaper at tech 4 and insulated for 1+ Heat Level at tech 5. For every one of the improvements Tyler could have kept the Generator Level just a little bit lower while still keeping his homes Comfortable/Livable (as long as he had other techs like Healthcare Insulation I/II as well to keep those running). On the other hand, there is an achievement on Steam that only 5.4% of people have called "Worse than London" (Finish a playthrough without building a single House or Bunkhouse) and part of me would find it incredible if he survived The Great Frost and got that achievement on his first run.
I see how much support you asked for on this series; so now I just like the video even before I get a chance to watch so that I can keep the support going ❤ Keep up the good work my dude :)
The entire town living in tents: "our houses are too cold" Tyler: "there is literally nothing i can do about that, better research food, just to be safe"
For anyone interested on what he should be doing/noticing/would immensely help: 0. The dueling law is just a bad idea. Literally anything else is better. 1. He made the right call getting the generator power upgrade before efficiency, however the choice of generator efficiency vs steam hub efficiency was wrong. You can most easily see this at 31:50. The economy menu is the easiest way of knowing which upgrade is better, or if you have decent knowledge of the coal consumptions you will know that the generator consumes coal at a rate of 6/level/hour*range and the steam hub consumes 6/hour*range regardless of the generators level, since he has not bothered to research generator range and is making extensive use of steam hubs it should be obvious that far more of his coal is being used by steam hubs. He did get steam hub efficiency afterwards but it would have been far safer to get it first (by 31:50 he already had both, bus should have looked again at the steam hub ranges as there was a lot of unnecessary overlap/overuse). 2. Overlap between steamhubs and other steamhubs or the generator do not stack heat levels. Overlap between the heat levels will waste a large amount of coal. At 34:13 you can see he researched generator level 3 or 2 and had it on, which was unnecessarily burning all of his coal as the areas covered were already covered by steam hubs. In this case either turn the range down or move the steam hubs for the best use. 3. Extra rations for the ill doesn't apply to all medical posts/infirmaries, only the one you used it on. Overcrowding however is always active and doubles the amount of sick that can be treated at the cost of discontent if there are more than 5 sick in a medical post or 10 in infirmary, this is effectively doubles the rate at which you can treat people if your at full capacity. 4. Scouts travel to known locations far faster than unknown (unexplored) locations, so sending scouts from the city to an unknown location is almost always a terrible idea. You will lose several hours if not days every time you do that. 5. Let the Londoners speak until you get the turn to speak, by doing this the Londoners will lost 80-90% of their followers and your hope should be more than enough to finish them off and not lose anyone. 6. Agitators only real downside is that it doesn't apply to automatons, otherwise it's just a free efficiency upgrade on all workplaces, which means more coal, faster healing, faster research, etc. 7. There is no i in automaton, its not automation, its automaton. 8. 7 is the most important part. 9. 8 is incorrect. 10. 9 is lying.
To be fair, he recorded all of this playthrough until the end before posting the series so prepare for more automation. Hopefully, Tyler will create a new run, maybe on a different category.
@@tallguy752 Personally whenever I play I almost never build bunkhouses or houses until I have the house redesign tech. In some cases it might be better to just build the upgraded houses (10 less wood and steel needed) without it but as long as you can keep the houses chilly or better there usually isn't much of an issue, and I can redirect those resources to things like automatons. That being said, if you don't have the coal to heat the housing then it's definitely worth upgrading
If you like this game so much, I’d highly recommend Rimworld. It’s basically dwarf fortress with cool visuals and obviously is very much it’s own game. It’s hard to even describe what happens in it because so much can happen. It’s a killer streaming game and you may need some outside advice, but you can definitely do a completely blind play through.

Upgrade your homes, mate! You can make them much more live-able and comfortable just by having them insulated! It's gonna cost a decent amount to upgrade each house, but you can save coal there. Love the series, and am having a blast watching you enjoy this.
Can’t wait until the great freeze arrives and Tyler’s city crumbles from like 6 temperature drops. With next to no food stockpiles or coal reserves… it’s going to be rough
That's the one thing that bugged me about the game - When you research a technology upgrade, it automatically turns on. Every upgrade multiplies the coal consumption, so the steam hubs that were on range 2? They literally used double the coal and had massive overlap, too.
I love watching other people play this game, especially with how open ended it can be. The generator cultist in me scoffs at your New Order ways but you've got a pretty good city going at this poiny. Hope you make a series of the other missions on higher difficulty.

So did I miss something or is there a reason he still has only tents for all his people? Would make it alot better to heat them if they weren't in tents
Honestly I think he just never noticed the bunkhouse upgrade or he probably thought it meant hiding from the cold instead of a house upgrade from tents.

I look forword to waching this series everyday
Love this game. You really have to stay ahead of the curve or its easy for things to snowball out of control with sickness and death. My first couple play throughs I was also always running low on coal. The only thing that I can recommend is to plan ahead and always have several days worth in reserve for a when shit goes wrong.
Love the uploads man keep it up!
