Bengali used to say Islamabad built with the money of jute. Economic decline started after 1965 war...known as operation Gibraltar...gradually reaching in 1973-74 with nationalisation policy

Even a Bengali poet of Bangladesh wrote a poem in this I remember the last line , jab jhuka bosa Dene ko me muje patsan ki khushboo aayi
If anyone could please provide me poem name and poet name that would be great. I don't remember the poem as I had read it way beforem

Its true that Islamabad was built by using the money of jute exports from East Pakistan ie Bangladesh now. When Sheikh Muhib ur Rehman visited Islamabad...he bowed down to road which was under construction then , and uttered -- I can smell Patsan ( Jute) here.

Factual correction - Terrestrial television in India started with experimental transmission in 1959 (not “in the 1970s”). And daily transmission began in 1965. Yes, colour formally came to Doordarshan around Asian Games in 1982.

    • @duhduh666

Television transmissions were only available in Delhi at first. Bombay did not get television transmissions till 1970 or 71.

Another prime reason was, karachi being an organic city was always prone to protests and opposition to forthcoming military facism, thus a new artificial controlled city was ideal for military take over and controlled facism.

*What a shame for 25 crores Pakistani can't raise voice against 22 below Rich families*
*Indian govt made possible in 1947,but Pakistani could not*
Here are 22 influential and politically powerful families that have governed Pakistan since its creation in 1947:
    1. Bhutto family
    2. Sharif family
    3. Pir Pagaro family
    4. Jatoi family
    5. Kasuri family
    6. Leghari family
    7. Qureshi family
    8. Tiwana family
    9. Dasti family
    10. Magsi family
    11. Bugti family
    12. Jamali family
    13. Raisani family
    14. Marri family
    15. Mengal family
    16. Gul family
    17. Mashkel family
    18. Jakhrani family
    19. Dastagir family
    20. Qambrani family
    21. Magsi family
    22. Lund /Launda family
These powerful landowning and political dynasties have dominated Pakistan's politics and governance since independence. Many have served as governors, chief ministers, federal ministers, and in other high-level government positions over the decades.

This 22 family trope is pure bullshit. Yes the families you mention are wealthy but 80% of the nation’s wealth. There are other rich and upper middle class folks not to mention the upper tier of the military and the ones who thrive on the black market be it alchol, drugs, S work, illegal entertainment, smuggling, crime. This rich have this and that is a communist marketing tactic.

Just so you know those 22 families were hardworking muslim gujrati families, who built the industrial backbone of our country. They were not feudals or Exploitative. Now we complain we don't have Tata, Birla, Ambani. Some 'Arastoos' of 70s alongwith Bhutto destroyed all the growth of Pakistan. Hate him or like him, Ayub khan gave us 3 of the world's largest dams, fastest growing economy of the world, and fastest Industrialized nation of the world.

I wonder how a consumption based and import dependent economy like Pakistan will emerge from the current imbroglio? Frankly, there is only one way to alleviate their suffering.
And I am confident that the Pakistani elite know well that the only way is to improve relations with India at any cost. Even if they have to give up the Kashmir pipe dream, which I suspect will be India’s price for starting trade with Pakistan.
I know that the Pakistani elite, including the Pakistani Army knows that India is the only remedy because of the proliferation of podcasts openly and proudly discussing their Indian heritage and talking about the wars lost against India. This wouldn’t be happening without the blessing of Pakistani Army. Indeed. I wouldn’t be surprised to find out that many of such podcasts are funded, sponsored by the Pakistani Army.

    • @limeclassic578
      @limeclassic578 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

Oh no.. When you put Kashmir in it, there will be no negotiations.. And FYI, our only problem is the Pakistani army itself and the corrupt Pakistani elite..
We are in the need of a fully Islamic law, where there will be no injustice, no cast superiority etc, nothing else.
Where if a ruler try to tedha, he will be punished first, even a local citizen would be able to ask and criticize the Khalifa.
This is what we want and on which base the Pakistan was founded.
