  • This video explains how AI (Artificial Intelligence) was used to create a heart pattern for aluminum sand casting in petrobond.
Teton-bond 190 mesh was used for the casting.
Casting aluminum was salvaged from previous car parts castings.

Great project! I've been looking into getting 2D pictures turned into 3D files, and using AI for the design is also a pretty cool idea. I will be looking into this for sure 👍👊

Awesome, I am glad this subject is relevant. I have ran into this problem too with converting text or graphics to something useable. Believe it or not AI generators for graphics are pretty addicting, its fun just to see what it keeps throwing out. Thanks again!

0:13 They resemble Louis Wain's psychedelic cat art but in 3D. I am only now getting into metalsmithing and 3D printing so this is the stuff I need. Props. 👍🏽👍🏽

I looked it up and yes it certainly has some resemblances to Louis Wain's psychedelic cat art. I never thought someone would combine those 2 subjects in art but he did. Thanks again for checking out my video!

The sand that I used in this video is Teton-bond Petrobond 190mesh. Its oil based.

@@DamonsMetalCasting Thank you so much. My friend and I were trying to sand cast some rings today and could not for the life of us get the printed pattern to release from the mold without taking chunks of sand with it.

@@sp0764 I hope it helps. The petrobond I purchase has been pretty good stuff. I have used babypowder with it before and it works ok but for me Talc works a bit better on the pattern, except its an inhalation hazard. I only apply talc with a makeup brush to the part. My parting powder for the 2 halves of the mold, I use baby powder/corn starch because it does work fine for that. Hope you can get some success, good luck and thanks for watching!

AI will aid in the decline of human artistic ability and human intelligence overall. But I still like technology 😊.
