Cranberry Island:
So another mystery to unravel in Far Harbor. This time, on an island at the bottom of Far Harbor, called Cranberry Island. It is here that we collect the journal entries of Eliza, a young girl who lived here. We piece together her sad story, as well as the story of her family, that seemed to be going through a rough patch. These, and the generators we come across, all go towards a final, terrible truth.

That blue machine is a scale if that is what you referred to as "Cranberry juicer". You can see Brooks weighing fish with it non-stop at the villager colony.
White paint may have been used to tell others that this is private land. In heavily wooded areas, people put white paint on the trees because of this.
Since they are hunters, this could be a reason why there is some on some locations.
Cranberries are grown in a location that can be flooded but are only flooded when harvesting takes place, when it is time to harvest the area is flooded and then a machine is used to knock the berries from the plant after they are detached from the plant they float to the surface and are collected by skimming the surface or you could suck them and water up.
About that white paint....... hey, a trapper can get lonely on that island.

Still we don't know what happened to Eliza and Nathan.
They are quite picky when it comes to attention to detail however. I'm still waiting for proper reloading for the lever action rifles...

@@thenthappleTotally. I was confused the first couple of times I encountered them-they seemed to come from nowhere. Then by chance I happened to see one on the way down and realised what they were doing.

I would love to see lore videos on classic fallout locations like the hub and vault city also shady sands because they have so much history and really heavily effect the fallout timeline

Being a Nathan myself, I'd say he damaged the hazmat suits and didn't stock up the bunker on purpose so they'd die in there and tried to escape the island but died.
I was exploring this place for the first time today and I didn't fully understand what was going on. I then thought "I hope there's a lore video for this in the future."

Thenapple, I told you about this location awhile ago, I think you forgot about it. But find Relay Tower 1D-109, tune into the distress signal. Now, from the radio tower, move south, you'll find some train cars, the most southern train car, it will be over tipped, and near the bush, a hatch. Go inside.

I just finished my play-through of far harbor, and I totally missed this place.
The only thing i can tell you about "Cranberry Harvesters" are they were originated as early as 1990, and dedicated themselves to purchasing every cranberry album as soon as they were made available. A ruthless bunch they are.

I circled the island so many times looking for what happened to that girl. So frustrating.
That just means that you get to decide for yourself in your personal game world. While I think the most likely outcome is that Nathan and Eliza got buried under the rubble in the bunker, I prefer the idea that she was in Far Harbour either at the party or the aftermath and found a way to survive. As for Nathan I think he got caught outside somewhere and died from the bombs.

YES!!! He finally did Cranberry Island, I've been waiting for so long!
the bog is probably being used as a hydroponics system for growing the berries. the plants grow over the net using the water for nutrients. once ripe, the nets are hoisted out of the water and the berries shaken loose. the water is now full of berries, so the big water pump presumably sucks all of the water up along with the berries and dumps the berries in the vats. makes sense, and kinda like floating logs down stream. such a large farm would only need two or three workers to operate the nets, pumps and generators.

Another youtuber named Oxhorn did a lore video on this location as well, and he had some pretty good ideas on what happened to Nathan an Eliza: first off, he said that he searched the island and found no trace of Eliza or her remains. However, near the island is a shed with a bloody skeleton chained up inside. Outside, a dressed skeleton sits on a park bench, totally casual. He speculates that these may be the remains of Nathan and Eliza, and explains why. He also searched the island an discovered that only one house on the far easter shore has Holloween decorations, and is probably the house that hosted the Holloween party Eliza went to.

Its pretty cool that they have added Cranberry Island, being that it is a real place by Bar Harbor, Maine. Unfortunately though nobody grows Cranberries there.

I have played a few stealth characters through the whole thing, and I usually found gulpers either hiding in the water or hanging like bays in the trees. Given how big and likely heavy they are, it is a bit weird lol

I know that they are a relatively well known group in Fallout lore, but I would love an in depth video analysis on the Children of Atom, seeing as how there are two groups in Fallout 4 alone, on top of the group in Fallout 3.

Bar Harbor Maine, where far harbor is based, there is an island that you can walk to when its low tide. I don't think its cranberry island but its just an interesting tidbit.

To farm cranberries, they would have a large field they would flood. Then the nets would simply be walked toward an area they would harvest them. Dirty Jobs shows you how they do it in season 3 episode 21 - www.tv.com/shows/dirty-jobs/cranberry-farmer-1165053/.
I remember seeing it years back but can't remember what happens after they walk the nets to the harvesting point whether it's more of a suction that takes them in after or a machine to help sort through them. The machine that pours them into the containers would be long after they would have collected them. Oregon is a state of cranberries but think of the Slog settlement where they utilize the pool for their small amount of tarberries as an idea.

All I know about cranberry harvesting is that they use wolf spiders as pest control and they don't like it when you flood the bog to collect the berries
I think those 'Berry Crushers' are actually weighers for them.
4 and 7 entries I didn't find. I couldn't find them at all. Dunno if they were blown up and disappeared or just despawned. I dunno. Makes sense though now.
I Don't think children can survive the feralization process...as sad as it is, I think Eliza died due to severe radiation poisoning and her corpse was eaten by the rest of her family...when they turned, I mean.
