    Thanks for taking us with you. Have driven along the Raiders road a few times, nice area, pity the bronze otter was stolen from the pools, but that’s the times we live in. Thanks again.

      I saw a stone otter statue by the pools, I'm guessing it replaced the bronze one; anything of any value in this country gets nicked sooner or later unfortunately. Thanks for watching Richard 👍

    Hi Ben this morning as a well presented and edited recording 👍
    The Galloway forest is on my bucket list as well as most of Scotland. Looking at the map, the Galloway forest covers quite an area as OS mapping covers the North and South of the Park. If you go back again it will be interesting to see if there area any significant differences between North and South of the forest park.
    I look forward to further adventures atb Taff 🤠👊

    • @Adventure-Outdoors
      @Adventure-Outdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Taff. Yes it's a huge area with plenty to explore, although the vast majority of the forest is commercial plantation and the clear felled areas don't look too great. It's well worth a visit though especially if it's going to be clear at night as it's an international Dark Sky Park and the views of the galaxy are incredible. Atb 👍

      They certainly can be used for that. The artists who designed them described them more as sensory benches, basically to be used in the way the lady in the video did. Proper name for them is 'Rosnes Benches', give that a google if you want to know more about the benches or the artists.

    Hi mate. Looks like Scotland has had it mild this year. Looks a decent spot you had although I'll remember the hammock tip if go there. Came down with the dreaded COVID this week so can't get out, so this video helped a lot, cheers! Please excuse me, I need a sachet of cafay now, haha. Cheers.

      Hi mate 😂, it's been a really mild winter over this way. Bad news about the Covid, how long do you have to isolate for over there, 10 days? I saw you were about to move as well which is a bummer. As long as you've got a good stash of red wine it should fly by 👍

      @@Adventure-Outdoors maybe winter will arrive late this year. 7 days quarantine here so almost done now, it'll be good to get out hiking for a while. Maybe a little trip down to 12 monkeys is on the cards as I have a couple of weeks holidays I have to take. Val d'aran too in the next couple of weeks and I know there's snow up there so may get a bit of snow shoeing in up there, which looks like fun. Then hopefully over in the UK in April, all being well! Thanks again.

      Thanks! There is a free car park in Mossdale, if you pull in by the shop you will see it, you can walk under the bridge and follow the track (old train line I believe) up towards Stroan Loch. Cheers.

    Nice video, really well made and easy to watch. …. This is my back yard (and yes, i know how lucky I am 😀 )…. We have had so many problems here in the last few years compared to 15/20 years ago. With people driving in and lighting fires in a high fire risk area (we had a huge devastating forest fire here a couple years ago). And with damage to living trees, the ground and littering. I pick up huge amounts of litter, fishing gear, discarded this and that every single week!! ….The problem exploded with people who didnt otherwise realise what was here being shown it on YT & social media 😔. …When I make videos I try to be careful not to tell people where I am so that we dont accidentally ruin the area by making it more popular. I do know this can be seen as being really selfish, I think it maybe is….but every week it breaks my heart at the damage here. And I just dont know what to do about it other than plead to other TH-camrs not to popularise the area by saying where they are 😕 …If anyone has better/other suggestions I’d love to hear them as ideally people would come here and treat it with the reverence its due and enjoy the area without me having to clean up after them every week. I live in deep fear of a huge fire wiping out the whole area around here. Again, fab video, Ive subscribed :)

    Great video! What has happened to your Fjällräven Kajka 75 backpack? You still use it, or do you prefer something else?

    • @Adventure-Outdoors
      @Adventure-Outdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! I still use it when I need to carry heavy gear in winter such as an axe, tarps etc. but for anything else I'll use one of my other packs. My camping gear has become lighter and more compact these days and I can get it all into a 45L pack 👍

    Is that an old railway You are walking on?, looks like that. Nice video and like the laughs 🙌😂. My daughter was looking at this video with me and repeated your Scottish accent because it's cool 😁🙌

    • @Adventure-Outdoors
      @Adventure-Outdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Mattias! Yes part of it is an old railway track, last used in 1960 I believe. My accent is north east English, probably best described as half way between the Queen's English and Scottish. Either way, I'm pretty sure I'm pronouncing 'Fjallraven' wrong 😂. Cheers mate 👍🍺

    • @Braapncamp
      @Braapncamp 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Adventure-Outdoors Whaat, how little i know. Interesting i thought your accent was pure Scottish, i think you pronounce Fjällräven great! That tent looks great, i have Hilleberg tents and have not looked closer to the Fjällräven tents, even if i'm well intobtheir garments and backpacks. Looks to have similar features and quality. 👌

    • @Adventure-Outdoors
      @Adventure-Outdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Braapncamp The accents here in the UK are crazy, there's so many of them it boggles the mind. My accent doesn't sound much like a classic English accent at all; when I was in the US people thought I was German 😂.
      The Fjallraven tent is great, pretty lightweight at just over 2kg, but I don't think it would stand up to the weather like a Hilleberg would. My friend just bought a Hilleberg Enan, I'll get to check it out soon hopefully 👍

    • @Braapncamp
      @Braapncamp 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Adventure-Outdoors German... 😂🙉 Enan looks great for most conditions on solo hikes, I have the Akto which is a bit more substantial and as well an Allak 2. I sometimes think that the Enan had been great though for the solo tent. Love them even if I mostly are hammocking, like you said in boreal areas it's not always easy to find a spot for a tent.
