  • In this episode of "What Is On My Wrist" cam talks about a razor-sharp unpolished 1984 Rolex GMT-Master (Ref. 16758) 18k YG
    The Rolex Ref. 16758 was first introduced in 1980 shortly after the Ref. 16750 and was in production until 1988. Both the 16758 and 16750 featured the updated Cal. 3075 quick set date movement, but the 16758 included further advancements as well. The 16758 GMT-Master also featured a sapphire crystal and a bidirectional click spring bezel, which the stainless steel model wouldn't see until the GMT-Master II 16760.

    I have had this watch for over 33 years. Only Rolex I own. Thank you for making this video, only difference is that mine is a 1978 not sure if you can make a separate vid on that specific year, I would love that

      Great point. This is a great review of a watch you don't see reviewed too often. Too many youtube guys talking about the same stuff these days.

    Oh and subscribed! I love that you know what you are talking about and not one of the plethora of watch pundit channels who have no idea what they are talking about! And Eric is a lovely chap, had a few short conversations with him via IG and he is always generous with his time.

    I have a 14k gold Cyma from 1946 and it has that gorgeous gold Patina and has never been polished and I love that! This is gorgeous

    I like that you thought that you had to explain what a nipple dial is to your audience, and that explaining would get us to calm down. Great video

    Watches like the GMT-Master II and Submariner comes with an Oyster or Jubilee bracelet, but I always though the Jubilee was horrible to look at. Those watches also accommodate a President bracelet, more normally seen on the Rolex DayDate watch. That looks good. It's an Oyster or President bracelet for me, every time.

    Thanks Cam, always look forward to your vids, beautiful unpolished example with a nipple dial👌🏻
    I’m always chasing unpolished vintage Rolex, I’ve got a 1966 gilt 1675 all original and unpolished, I’ve realised over the years of collecting vintage Rolex, Tudor and Omega that people cared more about their Rolex’s as many have been polished as for Tudors I’ve had 4 Tudor subs ranging from 1966 to 1992 and all were unpolished also 3 vintage Speedmasters all unpolished.
    I’ve come to the conclusion people that bought Rolex cared about the condition of their watches hence all the polished and service replacement parts on so many vintage Rolex as for Tudor, Omega etc it seems easier to find original unpolished examples probably because they didn’t want to invest further in their watches.
    My two cents.
    Cheers mate

      I agree!! im a fan of good watches polished or not. sometimes I like that watches have seen and lived a life instead of them having been sterile and NOS... but then again sometimes its also incredible to see them in NOS condition as well!

    Nice little bit of facts for those new to Rolex. Yes--it is rare to find a sticker on the back over all those years except when a watch is rarely worn. As a lefty, I had to have a Rolex because it's one of the few automatic watches that can hold up on my left wrist--as I use a hammer, or any other violent tool! Bought my first Rolex in January 1980...an Explorer II. Moved onto a GMT, and now down to a GMT II in 18KT and SS and a SS Submariner (dateless). I have used the Submariner diving, because that's why they are built that way! The GMTII has only gone up to about 43,000AGL.

    9:35 sure a leather jacket with giant metal zippers in the sleeve is ideal for wearing expensive wristwatches 🧐

    Wow what a piece. Better be careful where you wear that. Increasingly taking my pieces off in public transport. European city centers are cutthroat neighborhoods - Geneva feels a bit different.

    Makes me sad that the prices on all Rolex watches have gone up 50% roughly in the last year or two. Sad because they’re more expensive

      rico200168 That is the reality of Rolex, what you’re saying. I was just pointing out a con. In the end, it’s what’s best for Rolex

      austin longenecker your Video is fab 👍 I have a Question do any gold Rolex go up in value ? or not let’s say a gold Daytona or gold gmt 2

    • @AustinGordon4
      @AustinGordon4 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      rico200168 These watches, yes. In the past (3 years ago), they could all be found under $20,000 USD. This is not the case anyone. You could expect to pay between $22,000 - $35,000. Based on condition of course

    Wearing the bracelet that loose will just facilitate a stretched and sloppy bracelet.

    • @craftandtailored
      @craftandtailored  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      didn't size the bracelet because it has never been sized its an NOS watch. ill let the next owner size it 😎
