I was given a GMT Master in 1986 as a birthday present from a man who I corporate jet for. It was bought at BUCHERER GENEVA. It is Gold and stainless with a gold and stainless jubilee bracelet and a Root Beer? dial. After 39 years it is just as beautiful as it was the day I received it. I have only seen one just like it like it. The dial looks bronze and shimmers in direct light when moved around. The bezel is yellow and bronze like the (Paul Newman) 11675/3.I've warn it 70 % off the time for 39 years! For me, at least, it is the GOAT

I'm drawn to the beauty of the modern ceramic Pepsi GMT-Master, but I find it a bit on the blingy and chunky side. My grail, however, the one I'm happy to own, is a c.1981 matte dial GMT-Master 16750 in beautiful, even patinaed markers, and matching hand inserts. Everything down to the bezel insert is original. I know it's the factory bezel -- currently in its 42 years of life -- becuase the underside is red. The OEM replacement Pepsi bezels are blue-backed. The bezel, while fading and slowly turning fuscia, is not nearly as faded as the one seen in the video. That bezel has a current, insane value -- as high as $3,000 -- on the collector's market; surprised that no one mentioned this in the discussion. Also surprised nothing was said about the price range(s) for these models, unless I missed it. I already know, but many viewers won't but will be curious about the market value. (Yes, I know it's complicated...based on the economic climate, the age and condition of the watch, it's geo-location, etc., but I could still easily give a realistic range.) The lume plots and hand inserts on mine are beauifully tanned. I agree with the boys on the video that dark pumpkin-shaded tritium patinae -- while tropical-looking -- may be a little too 'vintagy'. Mine also has its original Jubilee bracelet, with "F" clasp code matching the GMT's 6.6M serial number (1981). Great video...well done, but try to broaden the discussion by talking about the kinds of things I mentioned -- things most viewers will find interesting to learn about in the context of the particular watch under discussion. Perhaps devote less time to chit-chat and more to questions from viewers.

That insert is insane, the creamy lume plots, sharp lines on the case still. 🙌🏻🙌🏻

I’m into faded GMT bezels and patina in the lume. But spider or super tropical dials that turn brown not so much. Shiny ceramic bezels are not my thing.

I am 💯 percent on modern Rolex. If the bracelet gets a little chewy, I am ok with that. But the bezel, the dial… the overall face of a watch is the star of any watch show. And that star should stay beautiful forever.

Bought a pristine example from Japan for 7K less. I’ll have to age it myself, but that’s part of the fun. Cheers!
