31 Paintings in 31 Days - Peachtober 2022

This video shows 31 paintings through the month of October, using a prompt list created by ‪@furrylittlepeach‬ called Peachtober.
I was able to complete 5 characters, 8 characters with environments, 8 landscapes, 4 still life, 3 animals, and 3 conceptual ideas.
16 pieces were created traditionally using watercolor, gouache, and colored pencil (or a combination of the three) and 15 were digital illustrations.
On days and weeks that I was struggling with my energy or time, I tended to fall back on the iPad and procreate to just work out some ideas quickly. No shame in my game!
I am happy that I was able to finish the challenge and attempt each prompt.
Would I say that my work is incredibly skilled or moving? Not so much. But I do think there is value in pushing a little bit to get some ideas out.
Out of the 31 prompts, I only ended up really liking a handful. While I think I have good ideas initially, the execution really seems to challenge me. This is completely normal for someone who is still figuring out what style they prefer to work in (professionally).
Why did I title my thumbnail me vs. myself? Any public challenge like this is a battle within yourself to have the confidence to post work that you aren't proud of. It is a challenge about discipline, motivation, and (potential perceived) failure. You have to set your standards aside and just make the work. It's difficult. So pat yourself on the back if you gave it go!
