Love the vid .. ive goy A6 c7 2012 2.0tdi .just replaced everything like you have and now the injector grommets on the rocker cover have started to seep , which now i no what my cure can be and to use sealant, i have just ordered the oem audi ones so im gonna give those a try 1st and if fails again ill put some sealant on ..
Very good informative video, but I have one question , why did you put silicone sealant on new gasket and seals? I suppose the purpose of seals and gaskets is to seal perfectly fine without any sealant or I’m wrong?
Thank you for your question MilanI I thought about adding this explanation to the video but I guess I forgot. So usually it is not necessary to apply sealant but in this case I applied sealant to the injector seals in valve cover because they did not hold in place so tight as the original ones and applied sealant to the valve cover gasket because of the wider space between the bolts . So I think that the gasket will last longer with sealant wihtout any leaks and also there is a lot of dismounting in here so you don't want to do same job twice. But it is only my opnion. I hope my answer was helpful for You. Regards.
I’ve done mine a couple of times now and it keeps leaking from the rocker cover o rings. I haven’t used genuine vw ones though..so wondering if that’s my issue. They seem to be soft where as I would imagine they should be pretty stiff? Any help is appreciated
Yep original ones are more like stiff rather then soft, so you can feel some resistance while installing injectors. So the problem may be in: 1)quality of the seals. 2)high crankcase pressure (mostly because failing injectors copper washers, clogged PCV valve, bad pistons rings, failing turbo). 3)Too high level of the engine oil. So i think you replaced injectors copper washers? so we can eliminate that option of failure. Sometimes When can't trust the quality of sealing or gasket i just use some good sealant, but as you can see in the comments some people are against that. And I got a call from a man who replaced the gasket, o-ring, etc. on his 2017 seat alhambra and still has the same leak from the same places and he told me maybe he should have used some sealant and I said hmm ... maybe
@@HintSlice yeah I have been told before to use a sealant haha! Any particular brand ?I’m in the uk. & I have swapped out my pcv for an oil catch can, seems to be working fine. 2 things I’m thinking is the piston rings causing positive pressure or the gaskets..but like i said I fitted some that came with the new rocker cover and they wasn’t vw original lol
@@karlossmith3714 I'm usualy using Victor Reinz VR 70-31414-10 if I want to be sure that everything will be ok and also it dries faster then other sealants. And onother one is Elring EL 006.553 I have no problem with this one also, but it dries up a littel bit longer wich maybe gives you more time to ajust details. Sometimes I use copper Permatex for the cylinder head gasket etc. I think that is more like rocker cover leak rather than something is wrong with the piston rings. Any way whatever sealant You gona use, just remember degreasing surfaces is crucial moment in this job everything must be 100% clean! you can use some brake cleaner or carburator cleaner but carb cleaner is more agresive to ruber parts so be care full.
@@HintSlice okay. Something I have got is a rocker cover off an Audi a4 avant 2,0. It looks the same as mine without the long spout for the oil filler cap. The injector gaskets look the same but I know the injectors on the Audi are bigger. Does bigger mean as in thicker or is it just the nozzle that squirts the fuel is bigger?
Did anyone else start smelling an alarming amount engine oil smell in the cabin periodically during regens around when they noticed their injector seals were leaking? Also, I have heard using OBD11 or VCDS you bleed the injectors by just activating the lift pump for a few seconds. Can anyone confirm this?
Yes use vcds. It only my gues but when injector seals are leaking then maybe valve cover gasket is leaking also so oil from under the valve cover gasket is draining in the back of the engine where is the hotest parts are located such as: turbo, dpf, egr all that staff make that oil (wich is hot also) evaporate and you have that smell
Hi,i have the same problem with oil leakage,my car loose 0.5 liters oil every 1000 km ,i check everything and no other problem ! Can be from this gaskets leaking ?
If You clean everything from oil and then check again for the leak and engine oil appears on the top of the engine then yes it can be this gasket. You can watch humble mechanic video about oil leaks And also you can chek for the engine oil inside of the charge air pipe, maybe the turbo is failing?

Hllo
Where did u get injector bolt seal please help mine was leaking from the bolt seal
Hi. I really don't know because all parts was from the owner of this vehicle.
Is it 8Nm + 270 degrees as per VW specifications? It actually says "9Nm + torque a further 180 degrees
Nope, CRLB 8Nm +270° workshopmanual says.
@HintSlice but u made 180 degrees only
@Adam.minyan You are the best!👍🏻
What were you using to temporarily cap the injector rail openings etc?
Those I get from different items of the engine such as pumps, turbo, injectors etc.
Top video lad
Thank's🤝🏻
We can start the engine with the same injectors without any problem or do we need to reprogram them ?
Yes.
