I just had my 7.4 injectors cleaned by a diesel shop. They thought marine injectors might put out a little more fuel than truck injectors, but weren’t really sure. They saw no reason to worry about what you used. It cost me $35.00 per injector to have them taken apart cleaned and replace filter screens and prints. Noticeable difference in the performance of my boat.

I don't know why people on here talking about something trying to give advice about something they are clueless about. Your injector are size for your engine by HP mercruiser 7.4 is 310 hp this mean you will need a injector that has a flow rate of 24lb./hr I'm not sure what's the flow rate of the injectors you bought but I think you are good

7.4’s WOT should be 4400-4600. If you are revving 5000 rpms you might have to check to make sure you are running the right pitch/diameter prop.

I just purchased a 98 searay 230 runabout with 7.4, took it out yesterday and it's missing, I believe it's only running on 7 cyl.? Going in this morning to check it out. Thx to you and other comments for some education.

Check your distributor, cap and rotor. Mine was shot. Do a full tuneup while your at it.

There is a huge difference in fuel delivery.your two automotive Injectors will be running way too lean, possibly 30% You will 🔥 exhaust valves or melt pistons.

I've heard this once, but where is it documented? Are there data sheets for the two different injectors?

I don't think that's true but explain why

If that is true, the temperature would rise significantly to cause that, wouldn't it?

Better yet, unless you like replacing manifolds and risers, buy a Crusader.
    Cheers

You about to be doing a 454 rebuild Sir. Your marine engine in that boat is not designed to be doing 5K every second your on it.
You need to buy a Offshore boat and rebuild motors every winter you wanna do this......
Those motors like 38-4200 at most and they are very happy and will take you around the world.
You wanna treat them motors like Coyote5.0's you wont be doing much boating at all. Your asking for trouble real fast smh
