Speaking as someone who was homeless for a short time and going hungry, I admit: I shoplifted food once. I hadn't stolen anything since I was a kid. Did 6 years in the Army, came back, struggled. And it got to the point that the night before payday I hadn't eaten in three days, and I couldn't handle it anymore. Walked into the local grocery store and slid a can of soup up my sleeve. Walked out feeling all manner of anxiety and guilt. But that soup helped me get through to the next day, so I could lay down and sleep because I had to work in the morning. I ended up moving back home after that (but not until after selling plasma to eat, which was another low in my life). And I've not stolen a single thing in the 20 years since that happened. You don't know what someone is going through. You don't know how they're dealing with shit. So if you see someone shoplifting food: no you didn't.
I worked for a bank for 19 years and that kind of cheque fraud is the kind of fraud everyone in the bank has mandatory training about once per year per the bank regulations in my country. It's also why the rest of the world has pretty much stopped using cheques.
I wish more banks were on top of this stuff. I know someone that works at a bank. She recently overheard a coworker and an older lady talking about resending the wire transfer they'd attempted... She was sending it to an obvious scammer overseas! Thankfully, when she heard them talking she was able to stop them and point out the concerns, but the other worker had tried to send over $40,000 for the lady 🥴
My son told me about it. Apparently, it was all over Tik Tok. Even my 15 year old understood that this was just plain old vanilla check fraud and not a “hack”.
Man I swear you're the best in the game rn. You keep just casually putting together new sets that make me laugh more and harder than most people's specials
I'm from the UK and only recently had this young man pop up on my feed. Now I can't get enough notifications so I'm going round the Josh rabbithole. Great comedy. Intelligent delivery. ❤❤
😂 Imagine being the guy working security at Chase and you're watching these people throw the cash up in the air right beside the ATM and then chasing it haha
It's so weird seeing so many people calling it a "money glitch" and acting like it's some kind of life hack. It's literally just textbook cheque fraud.
Financial literacy is not mandatory on any school K through 12 education plans. They literally do not understand because they were not taught and half of their parents never had a bank account.
I'm watching the premiere now and I just want to preemptively say that I posted this 4 hours ago _please don't come at me i didn't know he'd say it in the first minute guys_
Just like my Mama always said “life is like a box of idiots doing check fraud and filming themselves doing it” It’s so cool that not only is Josh so funny and prolific, but that he just consistently drops these on us every week. Good on you brother

You made a point the other week to emphasize that you do consider your fan community friends. And I just want to respond that you attract kind fans with your own kindness and consideration for others. I love hearing that you were also concerned for folks doing viral check fraud. So many people just point and laugh when someone harms themselves like that, but it speaks very well of you that you don't.
You're so funny. Big fan. Bought tickets to your show in Texas but got sick and decided not to share that with your audience. I'll be there next time. Sorry for the 2 empty seats.

Sadly the real world has gotten crazier than fiction in the last decade. I miss the old days when one big news story would run for weeks or even months before the next insane thing happened, but nowadays you can't keep up!
"Dont do it because its the worst type of fraud you could do" I like the correct implication that the issue isnt lying to banks, it's that it's the easiest lie to get caught in to tell to banks

Okay, so there's this place in my town called the Rescue Mission that gives you a cooked meal and a free turkey for Thanksgiving if you go to their church service. It's big and crowded and lots of people go testify and get saved and all. (I'm a vegetarian Jew, yet still managed to wind up there 25 years ago.) Anyway, there are people at various places in their lives, mostly in hard spots, and lots of Bibles and hymnals around. When the crazy lady started screaming at folks and hitting the man in front of her with a Bible, well, it was sad but also really really really funny. Thanks, Josh, for bringing that memory back. I also appreciate that you might be AI, but i saw you live, so I'm still leaning toward human, just really hard working (and consistently funny and insightful in ways I don't see from AI).
Worked at a salvation army for years and we gave turkeys away every year. We would watch on camera as people would leave with their free turkey, walk out the front doors, and somebody was right there buying them. Probably for 5 bucks. Nuff for a drinkie drink
😂 'I know Nigerians from Nigeria'... As a Nigerian.. I fell off my chair laughing at this, because I was literally thinking... What is going on in America.. why so many scams?😂
Reminds me of when I was in high school. This teacher was pretty new, a survivor of Hurricane Katrina, traveled from South all the way up to Philly to start over, and continue teaching the youth. Bruh, he went to break up a fight between two students, like a good teacher might, and the two students turned on him and began beating him up. Even threw one of those chair desk combos at him. I never forgot that. Came all the way from surviving a hurricane...just to be hit with a desk chair. smh. My school was rough rough.
I've been a bouncer for over thirty years. Including a run in Boston from '96-'06. Sooo… yeah. I've been in and seen some insane fights. The line about "all corners" is so true, and made me think of several hilarious for the wrong reason moments of my youth. As a 6'6" guy who was 310 in my 20s when I had abs, but then got old and fat, I am absolutely the guy who breaks up the fights. Life is amazing and stupid all at once.
So, what I think I hear Josh saying is "don't do check fraud, but if you do, be a bank." Also, is it super weird that people were defrauding a place named Chase, but giving them all of their ID so they didn't have to chase them?

Well, that and it's just easier to use debit or credit (unless you have a card that won't stop that horrible beeping).
This is medicine before joining the debate
💯
I’m here after the debate… I needed a little… Joshiness after THAT mess.🔵
Me too. I want to bleach my eyes @@ThestuffthatSaralikes
I’m hoping it helps me sleep after watching the debate 😂
Same for after the debate 😮💨 this was a great de-stresser.
I am so glad I didn't hear about this until now...THIS is how to deliver news 🤣
Exactly 😂😂
My son told me about it. Apparently, it was all over Tik Tok. Even my 15 year old understood that this was just plain old vanilla check fraud and not a “hack”.
PSA dont commit felonies if you're poor.
Yes the "..." was critical there 😂
Or just don’t get caught but hey 🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️
Man I swear you're the best in the game rn. You keep just casually putting together new sets that make me laugh more and harder than most people's specials
I'm from the UK and only recently had this young man pop up on my feed. Now I can't get enough notifications so I'm going round the Josh rabbithole. Great comedy. Intelligent delivery. ❤❤
ATMs have cameras, too.
How stupid can they be?!??
Dumb enough to commit check fraud.
And record the proof
😂 Imagine being the guy working security at Chase and you're watching these people throw the cash up in the air right beside the ATM and then chasing it haha
It's so weird seeing so many people calling it a "money glitch" and acting like it's some kind of life hack.
It's literally just textbook cheque fraud.
Uber is currently doing a money glitch
Financial literacy is not mandatory on any school K through 12 education plans. They literally do not understand because they were not taught and half of their parents never had a bank account.
I'm watching the premiere now and I just want to preemptively say that I posted this 4 hours ago _please don't come at me i didn't know he'd say it in the first minute guys_
Chequebook fraud was right there for you!
When you play too much video games
Just like my Mama always said “life is like a box of idiots doing check fraud and filming themselves doing it”
It’s so cool that not only is Josh so funny and prolific, but that he just consistently drops these on us every week. Good on you brother
Josh you are killing it so hard so often it just seems normal now. Every set you drop is funny af bro. Wishing you future success and a long career. We are here for it.
This man is dropping knowledge wherever he goes. I don’t know how he got into my feed, but I wish him success.
Dude, you were on fire and you knew it. This set could stand with some of the greatest. Beautiful timing and subtle nods to more complex issues. I hope you go viral
Love all your micro-manerisms and lil smiles/trying not to smile/laugh - it all makes your delivery and performance stellar 👏🤣💯
Bush Jr passed "no child left behind" and all these people who should've been left behind tried to cash these checks
I never thought someone could make the "money glitch" into a whole joke set. This was amazing and well done. 👏🏻
the full circle comment about chase was genius since you brought it all the way back from grandmas and their love for their kids to the chase glitch
It's wild how much we know about how to avoid scams online, AND YET SOMEHOW
“You can make me pay back money, but you can’t take the burritos out of me.” He doesn’t miss!
Love the cadence with the pauses so the audience gets the joke by thinking about it. Subbed.
You're so funny. Big fan. Bought tickets to your show in Texas but got sick and decided not to share that with your audience. I'll be there next time. Sorry for the 2 empty seats.
This may not get a lot of comments but it's OK....I really like this comedian because he's intelligent. He can tell a joke hold the audience and he rarely curses. Kudos dude
Same. I randomly came across him and I like his style and delivery. He's really clever
He really is close to genius.
@@MrEazyE357 👍 agreed
@@TheEko315 ❤️
agreed, !! my drama teacher always said if u need to include a curse word with a joke to get laughs, you’re not funny.
My two favorite places to get the news: The Daily Show and Josh Johnson
And he writes for them, so sometimes you get 2 for 1.
Now that's funny
The sole reason I keep up with how stuff is going back home in the US are these videos. This shit can NOT be real 😂 much love from Argentina 🇦🇷
Yeaaaaa he’s basically my news at this point.
I'm watching from Australia. Josh's take on various topics and issues are hilarious... Even as a non American. 🇦🇺💙🇺🇸
Bruh, you're are me and I'm you. 😂
Sadly the real world has gotten crazier than fiction in the last decade. I miss the old days when one big news story would run for weeks or even months before the next insane thing happened, but nowadays you can't keep up!
People that grew up playing GTA, thinking a money "glitch" with no repercussions in real life, could be a thing.
I wish people were smarter than this.
I do too, but who would we mock for making bad decisions?
I grew up playing GTA but I would NEVER.
People have always been dumb nothing to do with gta
@@LelynMac and you're one of them, where have I said people are dumb bc of gta?
Josh has so many good bits I can see why he doesn’t have a Netflix special I couldn’t think of anything I’d cut
I'm so glad you do current events but still in a real comedy format.
"They made the video, it just didnt go viral" absolutely killed me.
Thanks for the palette cleanser for the debate ❤
Dude is on the pulse of current events.
"Dont do it because its the worst type of fraud you could do"
I like the correct implication that the issue isnt lying to banks, it's that it's the easiest lie to get caught in to tell to banks
I can’t believe you have me laughing so hard that tears come when I’m home crocheting and watching you on my phone! You are so funny! Keep up the good work! I’m so happy the almighty algorithm helped me to find you!
I ❤ Tuesdays with Josh Johnson 💯🥳
Poor people getting their lick back from Chase (who did the same thing in 2008 bank bailout) is wildly karmic, but sadly those people are probably going to Federal prison.
When the people that belong in jail (Chase executives) are happy and living it up on taxpayers money 🤬
My first mortgage wasn't even $72k because i bought a foreclosured home in 2009, if I saw -72k in my actual bank account I would literally die. 😩
So you benefited from the 2008 crash
@@igobothwaysallidoismakewav5039 In that way. My husband was also laid off from his job at the same time we were signing our mortgage and i did not receive any raise at all (not a cent) from 2008-2011 even though i got promotions. I've had to do $100k+ work on on the house because the foundation was bad, the plumbing was bad, the plumbing line was bad too the road, we had to redo all the electrical there was a lot that had to be done. Like i said we owe $180k now because of that work but if we had to pay the overinflated price that would be $200-300k plus all that now it would be horrible
@@igobothwaysallidoismakewav5039 is that a bad thing?

I dont really see why antagonizing one person over buying a house is constructive. I’m really sorry if you lost your house in the financial crisis but that’s on “too big to fail capitalism”.

100%
Your sets are always amazing, but this one was on another level. I was absolutely dying. I continually feel so grateful you share so much hilarity with us, on a consistent basis, for free!! It’s like medicine. Keep being you, Josh. You’re killing it.
The hardest part of watching his videos is not skipping through the commercials. This mannnn ❤❤❤ the wait is worth it
Boomers used to say "Kids don't even know how to write a cheque anymore!" and we clowned on them because it was outdated information that "no one needed to know nowadays"...
This Gen X'er says: Kids don't even know how to spell check like an American anymore! What, did England have the same thing happen? Canuckistan? The Bogan Islands?
@@aick First off, how do you know he is Gen X? Secondly, he didn't misspell it, but it's understandable that you don't know that being American and all. Third, the internet does in fact exist outside of USA too. Just because something happened in USA, that doesn't mean that people outside of USA are clueless of these events.
@@WolfODonnelfan Yeah, it just means they call us, the guys that actually do things, when they get into literally any level of war ever. Like the weak pussies they are. Because all they do is watch the US so they aren't clueless.
@@WolfODonnelfan I'm Gen X and I rest my case, y'all illiterate.
@@WolfODonnelfan So how many Bogans exploited the Chase bank fraud last weekend, sport? Go on, do tell!
Grandma's always make you seem like less of a criminal ...😂. I know one of those Grandmas. Nailed it.
" and I don't look like I wouldn't do it" OH. MY. GOD!!!!!!! I am screaming!!!!!
The pace this man puts out great content is absolutely impossible. The bar is set high
Your humour is so intelligent and insightful. You are one of the very few comedians who make me laugh out loud. Thank you for the belly aching laughs!
I'm a Nigerian in Nigeria and that "Nigerian prince" joke send me😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Okay, so there's this place in my town called the Rescue Mission that gives you a cooked meal and a free turkey for Thanksgiving if you go to their church service.
Well one meal a year isn’t gonna cut it for me 😅
I love Josh's comedy but good heavens, this set was next level 🔥
I am so glad this dude finally blew up. He deserves all the success!
Love your comedy. My job is intense, and your videos have lightened up my work day.
So ready! Josh is constantly on time with his genius comedy and random news commentary!
How do you come up with material so quickly?! You are definitely going down as one of the goats of our generation! 💯🙌🏽
Your obvious enthusiam for your craft inspires me in my daily endeavors.❤ Thanks
😂 'I know Nigerians from Nigeria'... As a Nigerian.. I fell off my chair laughing at this, because I was literally thinking... What is going on in America.. why so many scams?😂
I like how he explains it for folks like me who do no't pay attention to social media.
I have never wanted to see a comedian live as much as I do Josh Johnson! I really hope he tours the UK! Superb!!!!
30:07 I was trying to figure out what fight move a "microwave" was for just a little too long
You are just the best! Laughed till tear came.
Josh you are absolutely funny! Great story teller‼️
"He can fight if he keeps the fight weird" is my strategy as well.
Pls let Josh do more on The Daily Show. He presents the news better than News Anchors
I was just thinking he should be doing the daily show when I saw your comment. Confirmation.
One of many reasons I gave up on teaching. Teachers aren't even allowed to defend themselves from students.
@@bjbear5202That's probably because some teachers went too far and it became child abuse.
You went to king huh? 😂
Lol nah that happened there too? @@croWnvic92
If any of my kids did that I'd disown them and adopt their teacher.
Old Jamaican saying, When there is Too Much Hunger, there is Revolution 😢😮
This is the first I’m catching this guy. He’s one of the best comedians I’ve ever seen.
"u can't take da burritos outta me" 😅
As low key as he seems, Josh leads an interesting life 😊
This is my new favorite news show. 😊
The best way to hear the crazy in the world is laughing. 😂
Same here, I would watch the news all the time if he did it 😂
Absolutely!!!
I chose to watch you over the debate
I cant deal with that mess
Thank you for the laughter!!
So, what I think I hear Josh saying is "don't do check fraud, but if you do, be a bank."
Also, is it super weird that people were defrauding a place named Chase, but giving them all of their ID so they didn't have to chase them?
I've had a very rough year, and the relief of laughing this much is REAL.
The fact you deliver important commentary along the way? Rockstar. ❤
It's crazy the amount of free standup this brother is giving us. Can't wait to see you live in Dec!
Healing doses of intelligent comedy, so grateful for Tuesdays!
Man, you are gonna be huge! My teenager and I just discovered you while I was taking him to school the other day and we were laughing our asses off! Your delivery is so unique and endearing. Keep up the great work!
