You know when i have kids I’ll find KND online and have them watch it cause it’s a cartoon of the cartoon network legends all the good cartoons are seasing to finish but we can always bring them back uo
And, well, notice a severe dip in overall quality over the years. Not saying all modern shows post 90s/2000s are trash, goodness knows we had our duds too.... and there are quality cartoons out there. Some as good, some even vastly better than the ones we used to watch. But we're in this weird time period where rebooting franchises isn't quite a dead thing yet (and I fear may never be), where lots of studios just aren't willing to take chances, want lots of money and want to work as little as possible to do so. Not all studios/companies, but a good lot of them.
Yeah i feel the same way too i think the cartoon network i remebered and liked died in 2009 and i just think modern cartoons are getting to ugly and boring you don't see excitment in cartoons like before and good shows must always be cancelled for some reason
Nah. There is just less of a focus on quality animation as there was during the 90s throughout the early 2000s. The mid to late 2000s overall were a horrible time for kids' cartoons. As the internet became more ubiquitous and kids got their own phones and tablets, there was less of a need to produce high quality animation on tv anymore and networks execs began to play it safe for a while with cheaply animated shows, shows imported from Canada (Total Drama series), and live action sitcoms. That's why the early 2010s kind of had a renaissance in children's animation programming with Adventure Time, Gumball, MLP: FiM, Gravity Falls, Steven Universe, Star, etc. It's just that we've now hit a period, similar to the mid-00s where that boom is now ending. KND was kind of an outlier in that regard as it aired during a time when cartoons were pretty bad; same goes for Danny Phantom. As much as people dislike Teen Titans: Go, it actually reminds me a lot of the comedy in cartoons that I grew up with, and most likely explains why it continues to be so popular despite older audiences hating it.
My Little Pony Friendship is Magic, Adventure Time, Amazing World of Gumball, The Regular Show, Gravity Falls, plenty of "newer generation" shows that are liked and even loved by plenty of members of the "older generation." I really hope they don’t reboot this show because it doesn’t deserve to be ruined but if it does it deserves the best team of animators, story writers, etc.
Mr. Warburton is willing to do a sequel series, and he lined up the original cast and most of the original crew to make a pitch to the network. They turned him down on multiple occasions.
demrifnoC itanimullI yea the way reboots have been nowadays they think they must appeal to little 9 year olds and see that little kids follow trends and all that blindly so they try to be trendy to get views
I saw alot of random episodes but not like i watched each season at a time so idk the storyline And man that moment was sooo sad Normally "5 4 3 2 1 BATTLE STATIONS" this time its good bye..
They grew up. They could've at least made a spinoff with their own kids continuing the tradition. I'm 13. You have to wait till 12:00 at night to see KND, Chowder, and other old shows. I stay up a lot sometimes, but it's worth it.
It’s so weird to hear people refer to those shows as old shows, I’m only 17 and I grey up watching them as they aired. To me old shows are the 90s classics.
That's honestly a really cool idea, like imagine a Chowder spin-off about Mung Daal and Truffles' failing marriage (like flintstones on the rocks but better) or a reboot of Courage or Flapjack that truly embrace the disturbing and messed up aspects of each show.
I remember being so scared in the episode where they were all turned into old people, ha never quiet knew what happened to it.Thank you for this video!
YES! I WAS SO worried and sad for all of them! *_Especially_* Numbah One! :,( Maybe I remember it wrong, but it was long ago. And the episode where Father nearly turned all of them into non human animals! I was very confused to see Numbah One as a walrus. I would've thought that he would be more like a cheetah or something.
Lol, thats not gonna happen. Ben 10, the new one is real dumbed down, and so is the new Teen Titans Go. Although for closure their doing a last season of Teen Titans, the good one. But most shows are now kid only no real story shows that bore anyone who isn't a kid. They'd watch anything.
I loved KND as much as you do. However, saying that there aren't any great recently made cartoons, is completely nostalgia driven and untrue. Gumball, Regular Show, and Gravity Falls are all examples of incredibly crafted shows which aired this decade. They undoubtedly make kids of this era feel the same way as you did back in the early 2000s.
Well I mean, he said that he just didn't feel any great cartoons right now for HIM. He didn't get the same feelings watching newer ones then when he did watching shows from his era as a kid. He was stating an opinion, just like you had.
Ethereal True. Also, most kids these days will like the new cartoons, probably, but when they get older it doesn’t appeal to them or they realize the logic behind it sucks. Like you said, though, things like Gravity Falls could stick with you and you would love it as an adult.
Only a few great cartoons aired this decade compared to the previous one. Still great cartoons none the less. Steven universe, adventure time, flap jack, etc
This was my favorite cartoon growing up too. It had some genuinely sad moments to it that I remember like finding out that his dad had been an agent and his memory was wiped, and that that would happen to them eventually too. Also, Father scared the shit outta me.
It was not sector five it was sector V every treehouse was a different letters and also depending on what place there from and lived also the delightful children from down the lane are THE LEGENDARY SECTOR Z
You were surprised that Number 1's Dad was a member of the KND? Have you seen the KND movie? Operation Z.E.R.O? Where it goes into the backstory of Number 0, Number 1's dad. I think the movie came out before the finale. Anyway, really great video, touched me completely, as I remember this show as a kid, and for some reason the ending did really stick with me in the end and I always wondered the reason why. Thank you for explaining it finally to me. Keep up the good work. :)
What we learn with the episode finale was that Numbuh 1's mom was aslo in the Kids Next Door too as Numbuh 999, the first girl operative to ever enter the 7th age of KND.
Jay 2.0 maybe it was a good thing that we didn't get gknd because it could have turned out like every new kids show. Forced jokes and boring dialog thus ruining the show.

Honestly, cartoons nowadays are weird to watch. The comedy seems forced, whereas the comedy and charm in 2000s cartoons were natural. Especially since many of them weren’t necessarily meant to be funny all the time. They were just better written in my opinion.
I just want the rest of you 18-20 year olds to know that you're special. We lived in a golden age of cartoons just as good as the Tom & Jerry/Flinstones age in my opinion. Keep going strong and be someone the younger you would be proud of
@Thot Slayer That's something that weighs heavily on my mind at times...we were all kids, probably liked the same shows, grew up with the same familiarities, what went wrong in SJW's lives that made them so hypersensitive and illogical? Guess it boils down to being raised in the same time, but by different parents, but did parents of last generation really fuck up that bad?...maybe it's just because we were raised in a safer world with less worry than generations who grew up in the early - mid 1900's resulting in us being more sheltered by default.
I used to love this show but it did cause me to have an extreme fear. In one episode one kid swallowed a seed of some kind which ended up growing in his stomach, which terrified me and lead to a very irrational fear.

it’s so wired when growing up i felt jealous at the 90’s kids for growing up with so much but now i realize that are generation has such great memories and especially tv shows ^^ i’m so glad for cartoon network, Nickelodeon, disney and so many more for making an amazing childhood ^^
Peter Ryan-Søeberg Gravity Falls was amazing and my TV favorite series of all time, While I agree that many of the older shows had a charm to them, give some modern cartoons a chance. The DuckTales reboot is excellent.
I am a 2000s baby/kid because I was born in 2001. I watch cartoons mostly all the time growing up including Codename Kids Next Door and Avatar The Last Airbender. But then in 2007, I discovered TH-cam and it didn’t hurt of me watching TV. But now mostly watching TH-cam and not TV, because my family gets rid of cable a year ago and the only time I watch is when going on to TH-cam. I personally don’t watch modern cartoons as I used to nowadays. I love vintage cartoons and animation. I love animation.
How can you say you love animation yet only watch a small amount of it? That's like saying you love food but you only eat stake salad and potatos, yes it's good but theres so much other stuff out there.
I think Craig of the Creek feels a lot like Code Name KND, like it has the same weird kid-run society with all those rules and factions and adventures! the difference of course is that KND is more fantastical with all the crazy technology where CotC is more realistic and kinda just feels like Kids roleplaying KND, if that makes sense lol
One promise I made myself is that when I become an adult, I will always be a kid at heart and watch cartoons like this from my childhood and that if I ever have kids I will spread that love of cartoons to them and so on. Live on kids next door!
On paper, a revival spin-off would be pretty cool, but in practice, I'd be worried if they really tried to do a new series of KND. Look to shows like Planet Sheen or all of the Ben 10 reboots to see that sometimes, it's just better to leave a story where it's at. With such a heartwarming ending, I think a sequel series wouldn't do the show justice in modern day.
I loved their creativity in everything, all the vehicles, the weapons, everything fit and made sense (for a cartoon). all the acronyms must have been tough.
One thing I always found disturbing about him was even though it wasn't revealed until later I knew all along the Delightful Children were not his actual kids and that those kids parents have no idea where they are.

@Shaman X it wasn't out that long is what I'm saying. I know it ran for 2 seasons. I liked the show at first but the second season was bad. It's like they didn't expect the show to do well at first.
When I was 5, 4 or 6, I always loved watching KND and Ed, Edd n Eddy. It is was always my favorite show to watch before it got discontinued. I still go back and rewatch all the episodes from youtube just to remember how fun it used to be watching it and reenacting it with my cousins.
What if all the situations and experiences the KND went through were all in their heads? What if it was all just kids playing pretend, and Nigel Uno didn’t go to space, but he just moved away.
This was my favorite. Ed, Edd, & Eddy was good to me, so was Hey Arnold, Recess, Timone & Pumba, Rocket Power, and All Grown Up. But KND was my obsession.
Im 23 now i saw each n every episode ...even i loved no.4 most .....believe me i hated since that day when i see no.5 crying to celebrate birthday .....cz it make u grow old
Theres no saving Cartoon Network in its current state. I mean sure Boomerang and Nick still show the old classics but CW is a lost cause. Only time i even watch CW anymore is when Toonami comes on, on Saturday nights but even then Adult Swim is being ruined by shows you can't watch without trippy balls on acid or lsd. So sad very very sad.

O.P.E.R.A.T.I.O.N. ZERO is probably the best.
I really hope they don’t reboot this show because it doesn’t deserve to be ruined but if it does it deserves the best team of animators, story writers, etc.
Mr. Warburton is willing to do a sequel series, and he lined up the original cast and most of the original crew to make a pitch to the network. They turned him down on multiple occasions.
yeah and currently there are no future plans for a revival but he hasn't given up hope yet. And neither have I.
demrifnoC itanimullI yea the way reboots have been nowadays they think they must appeal to little 9 year olds and see that little kids follow trends and all that blindly so they try to be trendy to get views

They still are these older shows? Really?
It’s so weird to hear people refer to those shows as old shows, I’m only 17 and I grey up watching them as they aired. To me old shows are the 90s classics.
i just think adult swim should buy the rights to all our old shows and do adult spinoffs like samurai jack
I mean, the ending to Samurai Jack was rushed and very underwhelming, are you sure you want Jack to come back?
Wyatt H do we really need adult show of this
That's honestly a really cool idea, like imagine a Chowder spin-off about Mung Daal and Truffles' failing marriage (like flintstones on the rocks but better) or a reboot of Courage or Flapjack that truly embrace the disturbing and messed up aspects of each show.

uh there wasn't ever an episode where the kid's next door all turned into old people unless you're referring to operation z.e.r.o. which doesn't count

I love this show so much. I really feel bad for the generation that won't experience show like this.
Ethereal also adventure time! 👌🏼
Well I mean, he said that he just didn't feel any great cartoons right now for HIM. He didn't get the same feelings watching newer ones then when he did watching shows from his era as a kid.
He was stating an opinion, just like you had.
Yea but a lot of those shows have much more mature audiences. They are definitely good shows but he might be only referring to kid shows
Ethereal True.

The Gender Wars? So this was all a weird prequel on how the Zentradi came into being in the Macross universe?
@Thot Slayer That's something that weighs heavily on my mind at times...we were all kids, probably liked the same shows, grew up with the same familiarities, what went wrong in SJW's lives that made them so hypersensitive and illogical? Guess it boils down to being raised in the same time, but by different parents, but did parents of last generation really fuck up that bad?...maybe it's just because we were raised in a safer world with less worry than generations who grew up in the early - mid 1900's resulting in us being more sheltered by default.
I will never forget operation Z.E.R.O.
Before there was Van Hohenheim, there was “Father”...
I used to love this show but it did cause me to have an extreme fear. In one episode one kid swallowed a seed of some kind which ended up growing in his stomach, which terrified me and lead to a very irrational fear.
Same, but except my fear is/was cats because of the old lady with the cats.
I was freaked out by the episode where Numbuh One was being chased by that doctor trying to give him a shot.
