It is great to see Dolphin got that close to the WLTP range. What WLTP is a controlled test and its result is best suited to comparing multiple vehicles fairly when making a purchasing decision. It is unrealistic to assume that ones driving needs will match that, as a purchaser always assume you will get 80% of that range. I thought this is fairly known by now even on ICE with l/100km stickers - it is just to compare two models, not what your daily drive will get. Although the WLTP test criteria has much improved, end of the day it is just a controlled test for comparing different vehicles.
At our AEVA stand at the recent Hobart Show in Tasmania we had one of the first Dolphins in the state thanks to the local BYD dealer only had 22km on the clock. It was well liked with many checking it out. I agree though Richard that pink is a good combo and the interior as well. Would be interesting to do 110km/h range test in good weather to find out what really get with not too much elevation change doing a loop. Although I liked your extreme test it is more realistic and 376km in that weather with 2.5 people in the car I would say in good weather you should be able to get above 400km which is still very decent.
This was the car I was most looking forward to, but sadly when I finally got a proper drive in one I just couldn't get comfy. I'm quite and have wide shoulders, which hasn't been an issue in the other two Chinese EV hatchbacks, but I just wasn't able to gel with it. Which is a shame because it's got the best features on paper.
From what I have seen on reviews is that the supplied Linglong tyres are not very good and the car will drive a lot better if you replace them with Hankook tyres. If you want a sporty car go for the MG4 EV, it is more of a driver's car. Being a retired old git, the Dolphin appeals to me.
in a less than perfect condition like yours, it's impossible to replicate the quoted range which was set in 'ideal' situation.... so to expect the car to perform way beyond it's capability is bit unrealistic
I love my Dolphin

Yeah considering how easy the test cycle is the result is solid.

It’s definitely a success story.
How is the sound system on board?
A bit quiet, but fine for a small car.
@@EVsBeyond Thank you :)
Shoutout to my Nepali brothers watching this 🇳🇵🇳🇵

I have big shoulders too and didn’t find it an issue. Different shapes!
Hi how about the handling when drive with 100km/h speed? is it okay or terrible because from what I heard the suspension is very soft
It’s totally fine. Not sporty, but very comfortable and stable. The standard range feels a little sportier.
@@EVsBeyond I see, I thought it will be unsteady

We didn’t. We are impressed it did as well as it did!
I'm really annoyed. They dropped all of the cool interior colours now in the UK and you can only have a boring black interior 😭
