I just had upper and lower lid Blepharoplasty with fat transfer and a deep plane face and neck lift. Considered to be major surgery, recovery time for me was at least 3 weeks before I felt ready to apply make-up and leave the house. Four weeks post op, I'm doing great but there is still some swelling and bruising under the skin that makes my face tender. I'm confident I'll be fully healed by 3 months.

I had the same thing done 12 days ago. How is your recovery going now? I’ve still got bruising and swelling in my cheeks and neck area. My eyes look great and are slightly tender when I touch them.

@@aoefeable Sounds like we're having a very similar experience. Twelve days is nothing. You will feel loads better after three weeks to one month. I also read that deep plane face lift takes six months to a year to fully settle and heal. I had my surgery in July and I'm still healing. It's a slow and gradual process. Give it time.

@@Sparkle835 yes, it sound like we had the exact same surgery. 😀 I don’t have to take any pain medication during the day but I have found that I take a half of a prescribed med for sleeping, I’m missing my side position. Lol

@@aoefeable I am at day 79, almost 3 months, since my surgery on 7/12 and I am just getting back to side sleeping comfortably. My ears took the longest to heal. Face & neck lift surgery is major surgery, especially if one gets deep plane facelift surgery, the most intense one with the longest lasting results. Advertisers of this surgery seriously downplay the recovery time bc they don't want to discourage people from having it but to say you'll be back to work after 10 days is just blatantly misleading in my opinion. I wore the chin guard with ice packs on and off for a good month. It took the swelling under my eyes a good two months to finally subside. Today, at day 79, I am still a bit numb on the sides of my face and I still feel slight bruising under the skin. I get plenty of rest and avoid salt. I absolutely love my results though. I feel like a new, younger woman and I'm having so much fun with it at age 62!
Please feel free to keep communicating with me as you go through your recovery.

@@Sparkle835 Thank you, I greatly appreciate the info! My surgeon said to ice compress my eyes only, I was tempted to ice my neck in the first week because it was very tight but it’s come down a lot. Today is day 15 for me, had to take a long nap this aft because the fatigue snuck up on me. I need to remind myself that it was major surgery and my body’s resources are busy healing. I’m 60 and am already excited by the improvements I see in the mirror! Exciting days ahead!

I think this really is misleading. Don’t plan to go out anywhere for at least 2 weeks……

@@Dgyhjigtjm I've heard LOTS of different time frames, and he did say it's never the same for everyone. Age, health, and habits before and after also affect recovery -We all heal differently.

I had it done 4 weeks out tomorrow it was super painful stitches and scabs ugh I’d never do a revision but yes it looks great but the pain was just too much for me .. still have numbness and feeling of pulling behind the ears is awful feeling that’s the real truth for me anyways

Thank you, that was very informative. You are confident and not over-egging the omelette, so to speak. Many women who are getting the work done expect to be healed in 3 weeks,.. but no person heals the same. I've been a makeup artist for 30 years, and I've seen many different recovery times. My advice is to find the right person and look at reviews!!!!

I’m only 37 and I might be told that’s too young for facelift but I have hooded eyelids and raising my brows just slightly makes a huge huge difference. Also my jawline is ‘loose’ and really considering it, pulling my skin back just a little makes my scars smoother…I think I’m going to at least scheduled a consult

I just have done my face, including my eyes and righnoplasty and my neck. The pain was for more than 3 weeks. I am in my 3 months and still with my bruises. My Dr says it's needs a year one year to recover. Whatever what they said, it's a lie .Does anyone have a facelift that needs one year.
