You have some of the most practical advice on facelifts and recovery I have found. You treat your viewers as intelligent participants in the process which is greatly appreciated. I like that you directly discuss the emotional issues. Excellent content - thanks!
I appreciate that you Dr. Joe also appreciate, and acknowledge the road to recovery as I also find myself on an emotional roller coaster ride thst us patients experience. Even though you ste not my Doctor i appreciate your support.
Hi Dr. I’m a male 60 years old and had both neck and facelift and eyes too. I have experienced most of what you have described and going into week 3, I am beginning to see and feel the results. At one point post op, I kept asking myself “what have I done” however, at week 3, I am doing so much better. Thanks for your expertise on this topic.
I have just scheduled my facelift, upper and lower blepharoplasty , brow and laser resurfacing to june 26th coming up. While doing my research, i cane across Dr Joe's channel and it has help me a lot when it comes to answering a lot of my questions. I interviewed at least three surgeons and finally made a decision. Thank you so much for clarifying a lot of things for me.
69 years old. 2 weeks out from my neck lift, deep plane face lift and endoscopic brow lift. I have to say the first 36 hours after surgery weren’t great, but not horrible. After that first 36 hours I had plenty of swelling and bruising but no pain...some tightness, a little discomfort, but nothing bad at all. At 2 weeks I just have a tiny bit of bruising left and I am slightly chipmunk cheeked and tightness is much improved. I was so nervous but all seems to be going very well. Already have a beautiful jaw line! I have a fabulous facial plastic surgeon in Austin, TX! Don’t be scared. Research your doc and when you find the right one don’t be afraid to go for it!
This is such a great and helpful video! Thanks for addressing the emotional feelings and the low energy. This is so good for caregivers so they don't get impatient. I'm three days, swollen and bruised, but thanks to all the information I'm heartened that I'll be feeling lots better soon!
This video addresses what no other video does, and that is the emotional aspects of a deep face plane lift. Now I know the importance of rest and the mood swings I will have. Thank you SO MUCH DOCTOR for this video!
I am prepping for my facelift and other procedures in a few months. Your videos are part of my education. So helpful. I’m confident with my Dr. but if I lived closer I’d see you. Thanks for providing this tremendous resource for everyone. Your amazing! I appreciate you Dr. Niamtu.
Dr Niamtu you are the real deal. I cannot wait to come in for my consultation for cheek implants. We messaged back and forth a couple months ago. I am saving up now. Can’t wait to meet you! Have a great week ❤️

@@LALiseAndree yes. So much better, this wk, I’m finally getting out. I had a laser/lipo procedure with facial fat transfer, but the recovery is similar as a surgical facelift. Thanks.

I just had face and neck and under eye surgery two weeks ago. Just got my stitches out and I was in no pain at all. Getting my stitches removed was a little painful but not bad. Hardly any bruising or swelling. I did take Tylenol for the first few days just in case. My outcome is looking very good thank God!
Hi dr. I just had my face and neck lift done yesterday. It went very well, the night was hard to try to sleep with that huge compressed bandage on. I took sleep aid, prescription meds for pain. I had trouble chewing anything. Hubby made me healthy shakes and soup. . Am waiting for my husband to take me to the dr to remove bandage. Yes. Today, i am feeling depressed, (lack of sleep for 2 daysI guess, but this has helped me. Thanks
I am trying to stay positive. Ultimately my doctor said my happiness is most important and if I need something revised to return. The problem was I went out of state with just enough saved money. I am nearing that fourth week but still feel bands (front of the ear.) and some are visible in the cheeks. My husband said one side is wider still. So, I continue to pray I made the right choice.

Had my face lift one month ago - these scabs on the sides of my head are taking so long to come off - is this normal ?
They can take a long time to dissipate, consult your surgeon.
Dr, when is the scar around the ear would be unnoticeable? I know everyone is different, but in general when the scars will be "gone"....
Depends upon the person. I don't take final pics for 90 days. Some patients heal sooner, some longer and some need some laser scar touch up.

Usually when growth is finished but all cases are different, I have done them on younger patients.
