I have wanted it for years. Just look at the car plates at Winstar. Full of Texans. Louisiana too. The planes to Vegas are leaving full.

Dave...Good news!!! It's about time our citizens wake up and bring in resort style gambling to Texas..All the money lost by us going to different states to gamble is crazy!! (PS - can you turn your microphone volume up a bit when doing your shows plz.)

That is good news! The drive to Okahoma is exhausting! Would much rather stay in MY home state , and a resort style casino is awesome! Now get someone to utilize empty property at RETAMA PARK in S.A. !!!!!

It would be nice, lifelong Texan here. I'm all for it, and exactly in the manner you said, just the resort style casino/hotels. Yes it's going to hurt LA and OK a little bit, but Texan's money has been going there for decades. I'm a little more skeptical though, I don't see it happening in the next 5-10 years, but it would be nice.

Don't hold your breathe on those tax cuts. They promised that in Philly after 2 big casinos went up. Zero tax cuts.

Dave that's good news for Texas. Hopefully will happen and states like my state of Kentucky will get on board. All aboard! That's a hilarious slot to listen to everyone yelling. Especially Vegas Matt and his crew

Lake Charles, Shreveport and Kinder (Coushatta) will not be happy, lol! I would suggest that they put in buffets. I'm from Louisiana and casinos have stop having buffets here. Mississippi casinos still has them and they are very popular. Always a long line.

Not all Biloxi casinos have them, I don’t think. And the ones that have been removed anywhere else were removed because they aren’t worth it anymore. If they were worth it, they’d still be a thing, and that’s not saying they are worth it where they do still exist.

Geeze, Texas gambling dollars should stay in Texas. And Oklahoma should keep their nose out of it. I live right across the river from Portland, OR. There is no sales tax there. But really high State income tax. WA has no State income tax but a pretty hefty sales tax. So major purchases like appliances and furniture are made in Oregon. As long as you pick them up, they remain sales tax free. Because, 20 bucks is 20 bucks after all.

Well Dave. Hv to say you gave us alot of detailed info on Texas upcoming gambling and can see how excited u are abt it. I was a New Yorker most of my life and I can remember when we turned down hvg it in our state. What a wrong move. Jersey approved it and all New Yorkers went there and Jersey profited. It's abt time Texas gets their share!😊

This has been talked about for decades. There is so much under the table money that Texas politicians are making from tribes in Oklahoma, NM and casino entities in Louisiana that it's almost, not quite but almost impossible to get an approval for casino gambling in Texas. TX politicians don't want to give up their gravy train.

I think gambling and cannabis should both be legal in Texas. The tax revenues generated by both of those vices could significantly reduce property tax.

If a casino is placed within 15-20 minutes of downtown of any big Texas cities and the number of “undesirables” will be much higher than in surrounding states. One thing that those properties outside of the state have going for them is distance. People have to have a decent car and at least gas money to make it. Remove those two “requirements” and the clientele changes drastically, and not for the better.

Illinois has done very well with casino-style gambling. I think the promise of lower taxes due to additional revenue streams is disingenuous. They all promise that, but from what I've seen and experienced, it never happens. I have been to the reservation casinos in Texas. They are awful. They only have slot machines, no table games or video poker to speak of, and in the 3 days we were there, saw very, very few hand pays and jackpots. We definitely need competition to make gambling enjoyable here.

Does Texas have sales tax? In OR, we have high property tax, but we don't have sales tax. I believe that's the reason here. I hope Texas gets gambling.

Have you made a video talking about having to bet a high enough amount per spin to be eligible for bonus games progressives and features, ive seen alot of people betting the minimum on some slots and i think they don’t know they zero chance of experiencing that gameplay

I think you hit the key reasons - the mega-church bless your heart Baptists and the the lobbyist dollars from worlds largest casino just across the red river. Something like 90% of the people at Winstar are from Texas? A resort style casino in DFW might drastically shrink or shut it down hurting the tribe. Choctow is much nicer. What do you think comes first to Texas - the casino or legalize recreational marijuana?

  • @mr.nmoney3554

resort destination yes. gas station every little shop and corner bar no. Or bars can only have counter top gaming. No resort fees all pricing must be included in hotel booking. Sure is funny how the solution for more revenue is never less spending. Texas needs resorts though if only to have more convention for businesses booking options. Yes if Texas legalizes gambling Las Vegas Oklahoma and Louisiana are going to take a big hit. Till man fertita already stated that the San luis and hotels around the Schlitterbahn and Pleasure pier will become a casino in Galveston. Plus do to the labor laws in Texas you will be amazed how fast the casino resorts get built in Texas once/if it is legalized.
