    Hi guys!
Aldo from Italy here, just wanted to add info and context on the Italian organization:
There is an effort that the federation is making to organize more hard court competitions and you can see it on the players skills: most of the young italians are not clay specialists like the spanish or the south american ones, you just have to look at how versatile the game of people like Arnaldi or Cobolli is. Apart from the 15+ challengers we do every year, there are a stable run of futures in Sardinia (not a bad place to spend three or four weeks) and we often send people in Tunisia, where they organize a run in Monastir that is stable for most of the year.
It is a shame that we lost the occasion to start organizing some ATP 250 too, we had two in covid era, when China had a ban, but we blew it with the disaster made in Naples (that is actually my city and this year made one hell of a good job organizing a 125 challenger, almost sold out in tickets).

Contrary to the statement that Federer, Serena, and Sinner are the only players never to lose in straight sets in a season, Martina Navratilova went 90-3 in 1982, 86-1 in 1983, and 78-2 in 1984, and none of her losses in 3 straight years were in straight sets. Steffi Graf did this in 1989 when she went 86-2. Chris Evert did it in 1978 when she went 56-3.

John is right. I'm currently playing an ITF seniors event in Spain and met Andy's mom here. The word among the UK contingency here is that Andy is as good a tactician as his mom. He can analyze another player's game and figure out a tactical plan against that player. Novak needs that edge against the Alcaraz and Sinner types. That said, it's a hail-mary! The physicality of it cannot be escaped. Time wins. Novak loses.

Therefore Producer Mike's comment on Sinner being the 3rd person to have not lost a match in straight set was incorrect. Hope you can mention this in the next episode, thank you!

Novak and Andy were due to fly in on the Friday for him but Spain lost early.

You dont have to lie here as if you know these players.
In Spain it was reported Novak was in Spain on the day of the 19th. Marca reported that he would attend IF Spain qualifies and plays at weekend.
There was and is attention on Rafa. Millions of people have a deep emotional and personal connection with him, its clear by now.
If you use internet engagement as evidence of interest.
Rafa obliterates everything you just said. His video has over 100 Million views in 2 days. He has over 160 M views now. 4.4 M likes. That fizzle alright, damn u re a fraud.
How do you compare these stories😀, apples and oranges.
Let players retire how they want and when they want. Stop being a bitter fraud demanding Rafa to retire at RG and getting a ‘great send you’
If that's your wish, you get that send off. Because That's what you want.
Support the players you like and stop making excuses when they can't deliver on what they claim.
Let them show their actions not matching their words
We have eyes, stop lying 🤥

Very curious about this addition to the Djokovic team, although I believe the difference will be made by the physical resistance of a thirty-eight year old in the best of 5 sets.
Congratulations to Rafa for the wonderful career he has had and above all for the good person he is, precisely for this reason he deserved a less kamikaze retreat than the one chosen by the Spanish team, better a party with an exhibition and friends.
Jannik Sinner is currently the most followed sportsman and the most famous person in Italy, registrations for tennis courses today have reached 1,000,000 new members compared to 1,300,000 for football, it's incredible. TV ratings are skyrocketing. In addition to the reasons you mentioned, I believe that the secret of the success of the two Italian teams is also given by the fact that there is a good climate and we know how to work as a team. I haven't seen the same thing in other teams. We are also very good in other sports, in the Olympic medal table we finished ninth ahead of Germany with 40 medals including 12 gold (volleyball, swimming, fencing, sailing, judo, athletics,...). We are only in 60 milions, Germany 85 milions. I would add that other very popular sports in Italy are Formula 1 with Ferrari and MotoGP with Ducati, but tennis is now second only to football. But very close.

Novak timing was meant to steal Sinner's thunder... He is never happy about someone else shinning. The proof is that you didn't talk about Italy winning the Davis Cup back to back until the 34th minutes. You spent 25 minutes talking about Novak
If Sinner is not at the AO, i am not watching tennis until he comes back

Trust me, Novak doesn't give a sht. He's 100× bigger than Sinner so he wouldn't give a sht about Sinner helping Italy to win Davis cup. Tell me, when did Novak take his spotlight in AO this year? Or US-open? Or ATP Finals? See how dumb you sound now😂?

This is entirely a 'help me beat Sinner/Alcaraz'. Prime Murray was obviously better than Sinner and Alcaraz - he believed that fit he could beat them. This is Novak wringing the very last drops out and a mission to prove that the Big 4 were simply better than everyone else - even now

Great point on Andy being a great source for Novak in regards to bouncing off “I’ve tried this” ideas. Not sure how much it would have been worth but I thought Andy was set with a life partnership with Head, and he very quickly and out of pocket switched to Yonex Ezones just to see if he could find something, so I can absolutely see the value there.
Wonderful words for Rafa, and absolutely my experience too in regards to having it be a talking point in random spots. Went to hear a guest speaker our kids school brought, he opens with mentioning how Rafa was retiring, how his uncle shaped him and went from there.
Great episode, and thanks to Andy for teaching us to never say sorry for hitting a winner.

The only one who is creating a storm here that is upsetting people is precisely Roddick with his ridiculous attitude. What is he trying to defend? The only thing he is letting on is his overflowing love for Nadal or his bad intention of trying to tarnish the reputation of someone who does not deserve that attack. Simply stupid.

Novak didn’t win a single tournament except the Olympics in 2024, he dumped his whole team, he’s 38. This hiring of Andy seems more significant a move to me. Can they make it work? Will be interesting to watch-I can’t picture Andy putting up with Novak’s verbal abuse though. Maybe in Serbian it will get a pass?

What a week. Rafa, Nole, Andy, BJK and Davis Cup - I was expecting this to be about 2hrs long! Master stroke by Nole getting AM onboard. The difference between the two of them is going to be the amalgamation now and the current top 5 should take notice. We'll see next year if Nole still has the legs for 7 matches over 2 weeks but if he has, AO is the place to do it...

Disagree with Roddick. Even Novak can improve technique wise. Before 2017 Novak was clearly the best! However his serve’s motion has wrong. Hence why he injured his elbow. Look into his serve before 2017 and then after he came after the surgery. It’s a different motion. Moreover, when he added Ivanisevic into his box, the Croatian taught him how to improve his serve. Today Novak’s serve is an asset, as opposed to 10 years ago in which it wasn’t. He has improved his forehand too. He can improve his forehand dropshot. He can practice footwork, speed, sprints, and many more things. Murray can “teach” or assist him in these topics. Also he can pinpoint week spots that Alcaraz and sinner have and suggest Novak to take advantage of these week spots.

@@joannemoore3976 yes everyone deserves a ban if you fail a drug test. Of course the length depends on the amount taken. A ban is an acknowledgment of negligence. In sinner’s case, his physio was negligent. Why else did sinner fire him? And because an athlete is a summation of their team, sinner has to take a small ban. Don’t worry anyways as they’ll put it in a meaningless part of the season for golden boy

I realize it is the job, but it speaks a lot more about who he is. First 10 minutes is full of rambling and no idea what he was talking about.
