Yeah the video's are great, and it's great having Andy talking tennis. However there was a period of 6 days with no video's during RG, so room for improvement :)
There are tennis analysts and then there’s Andy. Amazing stuff every time. As for Carlitos? Three slams. Three surfaces. 21 years old. Kid’s a genius. No other word.
I remember early in his career Andy won a grand slam semi-final but rolled his ankle near the end but was still able to serve out the match. However, he could not recover in time for the finale and his ankle severely limited him, I believe he lost that to Federer, but he made no excuses. I thought he had a great chance to win that one barring the injury.
No, he wasn't too hard on himself, he recognizes the fact he won a Slam with very limited skills. I never really cared for him in the beginning, but then came around to appreciate his work horse mentality, no drama, hard working athlete, that says it like it is.
@@creativestudio101 He was arguably the best server on tour, and had a huge forehand. His hard court and grass win percentages are identical to Andy Murray, and every man and his dog knows Murray would've won several majors but for the big 3. He was better than he lets on
Andy I've been a tennis fan my whole life and I'm much older than you. I have never ever learnt so much about this sport than from watching and listening to you on Served. You do a fantastic job, your analysis is so informative and given with your own unique perspective, intelligence and sense of humour. Never seen anything like it, don't stop❤
I’ve just come across Andy’s channel after the Men’s French Open Final. OMG 😱 finally someone that knows what he’s talking about. Andy mentions the correlation between being a great mover and winning GS! Federer, Nadal, Djokovic, Murray, Alcaraz, Sinner, Medvedev, Sampras, Edberg, Becker, Connors, Lendl, McEnroe, Laver. Multiple GS winners and all great movers! Thank you Andy.😇🙏🏾
I love how you brought up the fact that Zverev is a type 1 diabetic, which nobody ever does. Thank you for shedding light on how difficult it is with this terrible illness. It’s already a miracle that he is such a high level athlete as a type 1. At his best, he’s probably at 70-80% of a normal body’s capacity. You earned a new subscriber!
Yeah that's a big obstacle thrown in to overcome. Zverev must have a lot of fortitude to endure the long matches with the best players in the world and still be one of the best himself.
The first time I learned that Zverev was a diabetic was from the Netflix series Breakpoint. I love the fact that he said all the doctors told him he would never be able to play at an elite level. In previous games in this Open they did show him a couple times administering insulin during the changeovers. I agree it needs to be discussed more. One has to believe that Zverev feels light headed and has all kinds of other symptoms during a drawn-out game, and would benefit from an insulin shot in that moment. Instead, he has to fight through it until the changeover. Having said that Andy, I would absolutely love if you would be a commentator during a match. I would get so many more nuggets from watching a tennis match, while at the same time laughing my ass off with all your humor weaved in. I can see you being the John Madden of commentating drawing on the screen. Here are just some of the symptoms from type 1 diabetes, which makes me respect even more what Zverev has been accomplishing: Central nervous system: Weakness, lightheadedness, dizziness, headaches Stress: Nervousness, anxiety, irritability Sleep disturbances: Nightmares, crying out during sleep Other effects: Lack of coordination, chills, clammy skin, sweating, tingling or numbness of the mouth, blurred vision, confusion
A lot of commentators only just talk about how the losing player is doing everything wrong. Appreciate your player perspective where you understand more the difficulties of what the players are dealing with
Keep rocking Andy, great show. Tennis has changed from the big 3 to this new gen of players who are dictating a sort of perfect tennis defensive and offensive. Congrats to Carlos and Alexander for a great final.
Love how real and open Andy is about his tennis career. We remember him for “only” winning one major but he was dealing with an absolute maestro time and time again. He knows and we all know, if it weren’t for Roger he’d have 4-5 majors. Just the nature of the beast, can’t control what era you’re born in. Andy will always be one of my favorites. Love the show too!
The NBC broadcast was such a joke today. They got so many things wrong and ignored a bunch of important things that were going on. They mentioned Zverevs time on court for the tournament maybe 50 times without actually talking about the strategies the players were implementing mid match to try and win. Thanks for subtlety hinting at that Andy it needs to be called out.
This is excellent, top notch insight. 30 minutes is perfect, not too short, not too long. This kind of content from an ex pro player with an analytical mind and excellent eye for what really matters in a tennis match is very very hard to come by. Keep nerding out Andy!🙌🏻💯
Oh yay, I didn't know Andy had a tennis channel! I subscribed right away, and I look forward to the content. A top 5 press conference legend, no doubt. 🎾
Carlos will change tennis. He is so so intense and fast on the attack and his offense is so dynamic, creative, hugely unpredictable. He takes risks and almost doesn’t care if they’re in or not. He is remarkable

Love this version of the raw reaction about the matches from AR. There is just so much to learn about the nuances about how the game is played at this level, what goes through players' minds and how tactics are applied. As a super novice tennis player who can barely get his serve in but loves the game to bits, I am just soaking in everything this channel offers. Great work!
My niece is type 1 as well and I so agree with you. Not enough is said about how difficult it has to be to perform at his level and control his diabetes. I also wonder if it has played a role in his outbursts when they have occurred. When my niece is high you can't argue with her you just have to walk away and discuss things later when her sugars have leveled out. Highs and lows have such an effect on one's body and mental status. I give him a lot of credit for performing at his level and still taking care and managing diabetes.
Super insightful commentary Andy. Feeling blessed to feel your decades of experience as a player. My favorite video. Especially around 17:00.
