Ryan is correct when he said that you can tell how skilled a worker by how easy they make it look. Even with my over 40 years of experience with a chainsaw (not an expert by any means), it is still enjoyable to watch skilled chainsaw workers at work. I am happy that you were able to remove the dangerous trees
Nobody is more glad than me! Also glad thay common sense prevailed and we decided to call in the pro's. Yes, it was super interesting to watch them work! -Ryan
Welcome to our channel. We appreciate you stopping by to say hello - we are grateful to have had the experience to work with these guys. Thank you for watching! 💚
I'm very glad you all decided to hire the professionals for the tall tree removal, we don't a person like the one that fell from the ladder tackling a dangerous tree felling job, was that Ryan ??? Beautiful lumber !!! What happened to all the water in the lake ,where did it go..??? Well I survived 2 Hurricane in Sebring Florida and to believe it or not there is another blooming in Atlantic Ocean ... We do not need another disaster for this state ! Love you guys ,later !!!
Yes, I've done all the "falling" I can handle now... The lake recedes quite a bit in the summer. It is highest after spring melt and then steadily empties into the river until winter. Are you serious?? A THIRD hurricane? I pray that you will be spared. -Ryan
Thank you so much! It was a really challenging video to edit but so rewarding and the experience with both Allan and Jeremy will be long-lasting. It was a great couple of days - Part 2 coming...
Watching them they make it look so easy. My late husband was a faller when the put the dam in up above our town. Main thing those tall trees are gone and making way for lumber for your new home. Thanks for sharing
Yes! We plan on milling those sisters for our "forever cabin". We hope to start on that in a couple of years. Too much other stuff to do first, and we are committed to doing it all ourselves! -Ryan.
This is cool! Always wanted to see how you were going to get this done. These guys are pros, another superb piece of your story thank you for sharing with us.
It really was amazing experience to work alongside these guys getting their perspective and they were so happy to share their knowledge. It was a lot of fun! So much accomplished too!
Sorry I a Cajun from Louisiana was in church.I pray all is well with you both and you all have help removing them trees.Have a bless time and stay safe at my old Holm.
Thank you for your prayers... we have adopted a "safety first" paradigm here now. I even have fall arrest gear that I actually wear. Have a look at the video when you get a chance, the fallers we brought in were amazing! -Ryan
It’s amazing how they are able to take these trees down. We watched a crew a couple years ago taking two trees down in front of the school. They sure are fast! Happy Thanksgiving! Have a great week! 🍂☕️🍂
It was mesmerizing to watch these guys - such a great experience! Happy Thanksgiving friends 🧡 we wish for you a wonderful holiday tomorrow... mind you, isn't every day a holiday for you now?! 😆 🤣 Thank you for watching!
That view is AMAZING !!! I would feel so much more peace knowing the trees are gone … I wouldn’t feel safe knowing all it takes is 1 tree to take out all the hard work ! There is an extra kind of cut (well 3 cuts) that make a thing in the wood so it can only fall forward & prevents it from swinging back too! It’s amazing & works but can’t put it in words … u have to draw it out … it’s super simple & easy & makes tree cutting so much more reliable & safer ! An island without neighbours or a busy road / highway is really living the dream 💕💕💕
Nobody is more happy than us! We have been worried about those two trees ever since we got there. Yes, Allan and Jeremy are amazing woodsmen. Thank you for your comment! -Ryan
These two guys were just a joy to watch! We have a part 2 coming and it is a pretty cool day too - - a bit of an epic scene coming. Thank you for watching! 💚
You underestimate yourself, Ryan! You proved that you are a good faller when you slipped off that ladder. It's your LANDING that you need to work on! I have cleared a lot of land in my day by either sawing the trees down or pushing them over with heavy equipment. I prefer the latter because that also removes the stumps. Stumps are a hundred times more difficult to remove without the tree to use for leverage. With the stumps gone the land is more usable. JMO
Yes indeed! I always try to use Pepper first. Sometimes he can't get in there, sometimes they are just too big for him to push over. I don't like digging out stumps very much either. Thankfully we have a couple of implements that are somewhat of a help in that regard. -Ryan
That is so kind of you to say... Melodi works hard on the editing and I know she appreciates the accolades. I think she has a terrific eye for creating a story out of all the videos we have collected about our life up here. She really enjoys it and it shows in her work. -Ryan
When Ryan said he'd just go get a pair climbing spurs and some rope I just laughed. Since I was a climber in my family's tree topping business as a teen I knew that was not likely to happen. It is a tough gig climbing but knowing what to do as you are climbing is the important part. We did a lot of the big ridge firs in Surrey along Panorama Ridge and also the big stuff in North Vancouver. Those 150'rs make you reevaluate your life style. By 17 I learnt that an I jury in my childhood wasn't going to let me do it long so I left the business. Glad you chose to bring in the pros Ryan. They really did know what they were doing.
😆 Ohhh yes, that idea made me laugh too... I knew that wasn't happening! You've sure done lots in your lifetime! Sounds like quite the adventure too! 🌲 🪓
@@mywildholm yes it has been an enlightening experience. From tree climber to potato farming, then commercial fisherman to cattle ranch hand. Then a faller/buckerman to trucker, equipment operator. Interspersed with mechanic/ heavy duty mechanics. It certainly has been a lifetime. I like passing my knowledge on where I can. If I can help someone and make there life easier it makes me happy too. You guys are living the way I tried guide my life. It's a dream for me.
It was such a blast that day! Those guys are really great at what they do - wouldn't have have been fun to come down from that tree at a really good click?! I'm sorry you struggle with your health - I hope you are feeling on the 'better end' of it all today though... 💚
Well, I don’t know where you heard Fellers that here in the south central United States is called tree Fallers only Fellers we know of a couple guys lol
Totally!! We had never heard of that term either but when I looked it up on google, it apparently is a thing in some places... not where we are from though. They are 'fallers' and the guys doing are a couple of fellows doing it! 😜
That's exactly right! We have a Norwood sawmill that we are bringing to the island as soon as we get our shop put up. This is another game changer for sure!
Impressive to watch.
Definitely the right call to bring in the experts.
Thank you! We just had to because... well you know... things can happen 😉

Wow those guys make it look so easy. So pleased Ryan didn’t tackle that job himself ❤❤
I have learned my lesson in terms of the limits of my abilities - believe me! -Ryan
a joy to watch experts at work - THANK YOU.

Fantastic video!! What a great job these guys did 😃 so happy for you that the worry over the ‘girls’ has been laid out for good. ❤

Yes, and they are a lot taller in person too! Thank you for your continued support! -Ryan.
Absolutely fascinating!
We learned so much from those two guys!! 💚
That’s a lot of firewood!
Yes indeed, and we are looking forward to milling wood for our next project! -Ryan

Technically Ryan you ARE a faller...your swan drive off the ladder confirms that lol.

Well, the good part about it you all can get a Lotta lumber out of the trees. I have a milled up or maybe get a meal and do it yourself
