- I am going to show you how to grow coleus from seed. I will also share my indoor & outdoor coleus care tips. We will also discuss how to propagate coleus and growing coleus in water. Growing coleus indoors is simple and you can make a coleus houseplant. Alternatively, you can also grow coleus outdoors. Either way, you will have a spectacular plant.

I lóve coleus. One of my favourite plants for outside. Really easy to keep and so very colourful. Last year they did amazing on my balcony, and bloomed all summer round. They got HUGE. I took cuttings inside in hope to overwinter them, but a fungus gnat plague had other plans. This winter I will plant a few seeds, to hopefully grace my balcony with them next year. Longer term I'm thinking of trying to cross different colours to see what the offspring will turn out to be.
We are on exactly the same wave length! I started a fresh batch today for exactly the same purposes.
They seem to be really able to take the heat well and are simply beautiful! Did you prune them much or leave them to their own devices?
@@CloudGardenerUK I mostly left them to their own devices.. they were in full sun and the nodes were close to eachother, so no long stalks. Next year I'll experiment with placing, to see what amount of sun they enjoy best.

I'm so glad you enjoyed the video! I have just done a batch now and they've already germinated. So I'll have some more winter houseplants and some huge beasts for spring/summer next year! You should deffo give it a go too! :)

Exactly! Grow them indoors.. follow all these steps but keep them indoors and then plant them out/take outside next year but take cuttings of your favourite ones before putting them outside incase something happens. It's a win win! ❤❤❤

Yes!! They hate the cold! Mine are gone too but I'll be starting some seeds this week and will use them to fill out some of my spring containers 🥰

I can tell by your accent why your coleus does better indoors than outdoors.
Summer in England is more of a theoretical concept than a real season.
What is thre best month to grow from Seeds
With coleus is really doesn't matter because like I said you can always bring them indoors and grow as houseplants if you leave it later on in the season

I'm confused. Everyday when I go back to my coleus seeds they are completely dry. Should I open the propagator cover and spray water on the soil daily?
