Those birds can hear the projectile sizzle right before it gets there. I have been in pits at ranges and heard them coming too just enough time to start to move but not dodge it :}

I have NEVER seen a bird split in half from an air gun. I've done it several times with a 17 HMR but never an air gun. Very impressive.👍 If I could afford one, it would be my jackrabbit slayer!

I just got my Impact M3 .30 last Saturday. Currently using one of your tunes. It came from the shop that way. Its your hybrid slug tune at 965fps. I wasn't impressed with the hybrid slugs lol looked good on paper but didn't do well on a racoon headshot at 25 yards.... Had to go finish it off and left me pissed off... Shot was good.... IDK what happened... It was just awful... Switched to the FX pellet the next day same tune just had to adjust my scope a tiny bit and took the same shot on another racoon and was lights out!!! Have you experienced any poor penetration through bone/skull using the fx hybrid slugs on racoon sized game?
Never ever have i had a penetration issue with thirty cal. But, skulls are super angular and its possible to have one off freak things happen. That being said i have killed woodchucks with headshots past 300 yards with that setup. So as a rule i know it has plenty of penetration.

Just bought 30 Impact. Speak truth! Do you think the significant additional cost for the Nexus over the Titan is really worth it. The specs are better on the Titan. Is the glass double the price better
Ok so heres the deal. The titan was.....incredible. The nexus is....incredible. If one has an option the other doesnt that you like thats where the difference would be to me. Personally i would purchase a titan without blinking an eye, and never regret it. Do you get more scope with the nexus? Possibly. Will you ever be disappointed owning a titan? No way. And you know ive used both and own the nexus. In love. All around. I will own both at some point I am sure of that

I love my nexus its awesome. but the great thing is that if you cant afford the nexus. the titan is an amazing scope also for half the money. so I guess my finances would determine what one I bought. im hearing the helix is awesome also.
Hell im so used to cheap garbage Scopes that I went with the bottom of the Element line with the Helix and to me it is OUTSTANDING!!! Especially compared to my fleet of Walmart scopes lol So I can just imagine how fantastic their high dollar scopes must be.... Someday I will get a big boy scope for my big boy M3!!

Have you ever had the trigger not want to reset to the resting position? Like if you take up the slack to the wall and decide not to shoot then let go and it just stays pinned to the wall instead of going forward back to resting position? My new M3 is 3 days old and just started doing it today 🙄 $2250 rifle makes me nervous to "fix it" myself without some guidance lol
I havent had that happen with an impact but have had it happen with other rifles. I think that happens when you have started to engage the sear and are halfway to breaking the shot but dont. My impacts the sear engagement is short enough there is no “half engaged”. I would adjust the trigger to shorten up the second stage with the screws on the bottom. I have only done it once. I think fx has a video out on it
Have you ran any of the new 30 cal jsb hades through your impact or maverick yet? I got a couple of tins yesterday. I live in Kansas where the wind blows EVERY day, just waiting to get a calm-ish day to see how they shoot

No worries man. Shoot down to the second reg at 150. And yessir we fill to 250 if our tank has the air. Otherwise whatever it will give us before we refill them on the alkin lol
I’ve got a question about scopes and ranging. I have a hawke vantage sf if that makes a difference. Let’s say I sight my gun in at 30 yards and want to take a shot at 60 yards. Can I make a mark on my turret for 30 40 and so on or do I need a special turret for that. I know some scopes have that but didn’t know if you can do it for any scope if you know what I’m saying haha.
Yeah i get you. Technically yes that would work. But that scope isnt quite made for it and likely wont return to zero every time. Best to get one designed to be dialed and that has a trustworthy reputation. For instance one of my sponsors Element Optics had just what you need

For shooting nuisance raccoons in the middle of the night in a suburban neighborhood, would a .30 cal air rifle be too much for backyard duty, versus the .25 cal option? I’m not worried about the noise, that can be remedied. I’m worried about over penetration, because there is a house directly behind a tree and a wooden fence where the raccoons do their looting activity. I’ll be shooting them at 50 yards. The house in question is 60-65 yards away.
Great question. I would definitely go to 22 for that. Around 800 fps. My 25 goes straight through raccoon sized animals and the 30 definitely does. The best way around all of that, is create a safe backstop, and bait the coons right in front of the backstop. Then you have no worries Or like a said, shoot slower in 22 cal

Hey willy, We have some FX Gauges that are perfect others that we have replaced. the ones on my impact shown today is all stock gauges that read out perfect. We do not get any mag jams. But we use the mags for their intended purpose FX mag for pellets Sideshot mags for slugs. If you do that you have clear sailing. And we don't edit out our mistakes or gun issues, we just really don't have them......we shoot em and use em hard but always take care of them at the end of the day, just like I would with my powder burners.
@@68Whiskey you must have the cream of the crop of FX guages maybe it's a UK thing and with mags not working good either. I bet Giles from airgun gear gets the same guages and mags as you gays sorry guys.. but hay no rifle company's perfect or there products no matter what names on them 😀

Hey Gil, Yesir Utah tuned my Impact for me before they sent it out. They put a tune on all guns they ship, but if you know you want to shoot something other than pellets you can ask them to tune it for a weight. For the VK you can buy off of ebay, or just email him direct at driggert25@gmail.com

blackdiesel i think they hear them more than see them. Seems like a thing that starts happening around 80 yards plus. No science there just my observation And if you havent been downrange of a 30 cal, i can tell ya they definitely “sizzle” in.

I just brought my first PCP air rifle Benjamin Maximus killed a 22-pound raccoon with it I really got into the since I lost my gun rights thanks to anti-gun doctor when I was living in New Jersey I now live in Florida and these seem to be a lot better than muzzleloading at least I'm not getting black powder all over me I have yet to find an air rifle that strong enough for self-defense still have the cap and ball revolver for that

During hunting season, something warned me... that prickly feeling when the hairs on the back of your neck stand up.... my knees just folded and I went down! A bullet flew so close over my head I think I felt the breeze!! It made a sort of warbling sound. On the prairie, in the open...I never saw the shooter, or heard the shot. I’ve learned to pay attention to “warnings”. Another time it was a lion stalking me on a snow covered trail.... silent, just out of sight....I felt it, and instinct told me what it was.... I wheeled around and charged.... Unarmed, I surprised it with the sudden unexpected action, and drove it off. That “warning” has saved my life several times.
someone receiving joy from the destruction of another living being. I understand eliminating varmints but something tells me you do this for other reasons than just removing pests. You enjoy the taking of other animal's lives without any regard to eat what you've killed. Pretty sickening but that's just my opinion.

i would choose a custom impact from Utah Airguns all done up. If i had to pick a stock rifle, im not sure i have a preference yet.

Is that the best Cal for the FX- at $2250 is a lot of money
Depends on your main intended use. The beautiful part is that once you have it, you can run .177 thru 35 cal with just a barrel and probe swap.
It is a lot of money but its worth every penny man. I think the best all around caliber is .25 That being said, 30 is my favorite

The best way around all of that, is create a safe backstop, and bait the coons right in front of the backstop. Then you have no worries Or like a said, shoot slower in 22 cal

Hey willy, We have some FX Gauges that are perfect others that we have replaced. the ones on my impact shown today is all stock gauges that read out perfect. We do not get any mag jams. But we use the mags for their intended purpose FX mag for pellets Sideshot mags for slugs. If you do that you have clear sailing. And we don't edit out our mistakes or gun issues, we just really don't have them......we shoot em and use em hard but always take care of them at the end of the day, just like I would with my powder burners.
@@68Whiskey you must have the cream of the crop of FX guages maybe it's a UK thing and with mags not working good either. I bet Giles from airgun gear gets the same guages and mags as you gays sorry guys.. but hay no rifle company's perfect or there products no matter what names on them 😀

Hey Gil, Yesir Utah tuned my Impact for me before they sent it out. They put a tune on all guns they ship, but if you know you want to shoot something other than pellets you can ask them to tune it for a weight. For the VK you can buy off of ebay, or just email him direct at driggert25@gmail.com

Currently i like the 30 better because of the availability of slugs. But when that 35 gets slug capable. Oh man. I dont know what to do! Lol.
@@68Whiskey yeah, seems to me the mag is a bit shallow for the heavier slugs. I want to shoot 110 - 120gr slugs when mine comes in. Wondering if they'll fit in the mag...

Seems like a couple of the birds saw the incoming slugs and tried to fly away, but it was too late.
blackdiesel i think they hear them more than see them. Seems like a thing that starts happening around 80 yards plus. No science there just my observation And if you havent been downrange of a 30 cal, i can tell ya they definitely “sizzle” in.

i thot it was just the side shot cam capturing it reversely, but the number guides of the reticle are correct..
i might be wrong but, right hand twist barrels make counterclockwise spirals.. right?
brian go they spiral because i messed up my tune a touch for some of these shots. Had it on the wrong setting. Its fixed now. But yeah clockwise is rh twist man
I can’t use my .30 in my back yard, it’s just too powerful. I don’t have acres of land I live on a third of an acre in the suburbs.its quiet enough though with a Donny Fl on it.

I just brought my first PCP air rifle Benjamin Maximus killed a 22-pound raccoon with it
I really got into the since I lost my gun rights thanks to anti-gun doctor when I was living in New Jersey I now live in Florida and these seem to be a lot better than muzzleloading at least I'm not getting black powder all over me I have yet to find an air rifle that strong enough for self-defense still have the cap and ball revolver for that

During hunting season, something warned me... that prickly feeling when the hairs on the back of your neck stand up.... my knees just folded and I went down! A bullet flew so close over my head I think I felt the breeze!! It made a sort of warbling sound. On the prairie, in the open...I never saw the shooter, or heard the shot. I’ve learned to pay attention to “warnings”. Another time it was a lion stalking me on a snow covered trail.... silent, just out of sight....I felt it, and instinct told me what it was.... I wheeled around and charged.... Unarmed, I surprised it with the sudden unexpected action, and drove it off. That “warning” has saved my life several times.

someone receiving joy from the destruction of another living being. I understand eliminating varmints but something tells me you do this for other reasons than just removing pests. You enjoy the taking of other animal's lives without any regard to eat what you've killed. Pretty sickening but that's just my opinion.
