I am very pleased to have found this fascinating video. This series was aired on tv approximately 8-10 years ago, and I never saw it again until today, but the series still remains one of the best for following through a complete process from start to finish. The amount of labour time that is invested into the traditional Japanese arts is quite astonishing, the sheer skill of the craftspeople is simply breathtaking. A joy to watch once again - thank you :)

as a weaver myself I appreciate the method and history that goes behind this method of weaving thank you very much for keeping this traditional way of weaving alive and I would love to learn to weave this style of cloth as well
There are people in Japan that wear kimono every day. This is also a specific method, in a specific area of Japan. Not all kimonos are processed the same way.
@@MaryObi-v5d The wording is probably more because of the lack of plural in japanese, which also makes it more comfortable to avoid contrast with singular as well 'a' . Wearing kimono is not as much of a lifestyle as say, dressing as a monk, but it's equally loaded with significance and acceptable.
Such a beautiful tradition. I own a couple of Kimonos. They are my most beautiful treasure. Now, i will love to make my own kimono, but my Japanese friends are gone!

Esas fibras son el equivalente a los cables de alta tecnologia para computación actual y el dibujo de ese kimono es el.ewuivalente ha las placas electronicas con microchips ... Por que eso ?? Eso pasa por que esos cables que crean el kimono comunican con otro universo En otro universo son como una maquina de transporte de seres vivos a este universo Imagina dos teléfonos separados... After almost 60 years, I am still so mad that my mother decided to trash my kimono, that was gifted to me by a special native person, when we left Okinawa. I get even madder when I see how much work and care goes into them, and she trashed it.
