I like the idea a lot. Like you I’m hesitant with drilling into a brand new machine but in your case with that slick looking cover piece I don’t think you can go wrong. I was toying with the idea of doing what busted knuckles did with the stock 570 pieces that takes it back up towards the front but worry about splashing water coming from the front tires. Appreciate you posting these, can’t wait for mine to come in.
I actually have 1 extra I’ll sell it for 30$ if you’re really interested. Never really entertained the idea of selling them so I never gave the price any thought. Seem fair?
I just rotated original hose 180 degrees it takes the outlet up under the seat . For normal trail riding and stream crossing thats good enough no problem so far
I also bought acvt factory snorkel off ebay 12.00. But seat is redesigned for 2021, seat hits side of snorkle and pushes snorkle into side panel and bulges sise panel out. Tried heating area of contact...still seems to not fit right. So for now just rotated it 180 origional is soft enough it gives enough and wont bulge side plastic. ...so far so good....no signs of water!!!!!!!
Great idea, using some wire mesh (3/8” squares) as a guard. Prevent someone placing rocks or similar in the big open tube. Cut and belt-sanded to fit in the straight 3” coupling and resting against the center shoulder. Later just glue and push on the short pipe. That will keep the mesh in position. Made the split ring and will lock the end-pieces with it. Does anyone have a solution for the splash water at the CVT intake? It splashes against some shield and runs right in the big opening of the CVT intake vent.
Just go buy a stock rear snorkel tube for a 2016 sportsman 570. My girlfriend just bought a 2021 sportsman 570. Had the same stupid vent tube. I ordered the same one I have on my 2016 and it fit right in. There is a old saying dont fix what aint broken....
That cat could be skinned with a single elbow or just rotating the factory snorkel as has already been suggested. I like the look of your design, but it'd be a water funnel for power washing...
Seems like a fine idea. I personally dont see the need to route it out the back of the quad. The air discharge is really next to nothing. How about rotating the second elbow upright under the rack. Bottom line it's a poor design for a company that has decades of experience in this. I looked at a 97 sportsman 500 and it has a great snorkel setup for the cvt.

This is a great idea! I've got the same machine and I'm also a trail rider. This would be a way to protect your clutch area!
Dude make me a plate like that how much for it!!!!!!

Nice idea.
I put up another video on the intake. Check it out
Could you add a cap temporarily to keep water out while washing?
Yes definitely I mentioned this to someone else too. I have a 3” ABS plug that I stick in for washing and when stored outside

How much was that piece?
I would just dump it downward before the factory plastic in the rear instead of drilling on a new quad
It looks good the way I did it almost like it’s factory
This is fantastic, thanks for sharing.

I have a 3” abs plug to put in for power washing. I love the look and I like the fact it’s completely sealed.

Can you send me the specs or a diagram of that plate? I’d like to make that modification as well
